  • Formosa is actually an officially name used for TW since late 1500's.

It is used until late 1970s when KMT government thought it's more "appropriate" to use TW due to their Chinese policy.(It's like the current Chinese government like to call Tibet: Xizang, and East Turkestan: Xinjiang)

In Qing/Manchus&Japan's officially documents to western countries, they write "Formosa" when talking about 台灣/Taiwan. However, most Taiwanese thought the name was used only when Taiwan was colonized by Dutch.

  • Portuguese name of Taiwan is Farmosa.

  • Taiwan is really one of the world's most beautiful and friendly place as long as politics isn't mentioned

  • Is part of this song Japanese?

  • Taiwan, the most beautiful country in the world. Minute country, wonderful people. Long live Taiwan. Will always remain in my heart.

  • I want to go to TAIWAN someday! uh; it's very beautiful!
