  • calliola

  • The last song is "hot time in the old town tonight''.

  • Does anyone know when they replaced the Artizans' guts with the Wurlitzer 103? It would be nice to get the original Artizan pipework back and playing again...

  • The artizan style D' band organ's guts must be somewhere else. The facade has a calliola to.

  • The last song the wurliTzer calliola is playing is called a hot time in the old old town tonight.

  • very rare today

  • While the machinery is interesting, and when I was that age I was always looking at that as well. Now I find the intricacy of craftsmanship that went into the horses to be fascinating.

  • Chad, you looked more interested in the machine than the actual ride. You never took your eyes off the center point.

  • That's what I was most interested in, what kind of machinery/motor was in there making it work, how the organ worked, etc.

  • @retrochad It uses a roll system powerd by and electric wheel attached to another wheel that operates the roll and the bellows, when hte bellows go the pipes and reeds and trumpets work by reading the roll ( Think of the roll as sheet music )

  • @retrochad I'm the same way. I later found out that all carousels are suspended from a center platform cuz they need room for the poles of the "jumping" horses and the band organs are controlled by paper rolls. Infact, when you hitch a ride on this marvelous machine, you can see they have stacks of rolls in their boxes.

  • @bimjales the song at 3:42 is A hot time the old town tonight

  • @anglerfly Ha, ha!! Fancy meeting you here. Hot time in the old town tonight.

  • @bimjales As a kid, i was always the same way too!

  • @whoisthisguy724 So are you also a "Retro" person?

  • Comment removed

  • @bimjales You better believe i'm a "retro" person! In fact, i prefer vinyl records, player pianos, and band organs to my iPod, I love wooden rollercoasters, vintage amusement rides, carousels, etc.

  • this is awesome, i used to go to idewild park all the time as a kid, around the same time in the early 90s, i grew up in pittsburgh pa. my family liked idewild park because it wasnt nearly as crowded as kennywood park

  • I used to like carousels, but I've gotten too big now so I can't climb over the horses.

  • i used to like those!
