I'm so glad my father introduced me to The Clash. The thing I absolutely love about them though is that it wasn't like other punk where it was all anarchist nihilist punk. These guys actually had legitimate political views and their songs in turn actually meant something to them as well as their audience.

Hard to put it into words, and no need to put too fine a point on it, but I fell in love with "Complete Control" (never even knowing the title -- Ignorance IS bliss, eh?) As I recall it was the winter of '81 and I was 12 & slept with my guitar, praying/dreaming to have another life... The rebellion of this band was life-changing. I wish only to thank God for their surreptitious arrival into my wretched life.
