wantedlionwolf you have no idea. Get Sebastian Loeb or any other top WRC driver in Pikes Peak and he would take a minute of any of these times. None of the guys competing at Pikes Peak are credible competing against the best WRC drivers in the world. They would run rings around these guys. Pikes peak is fantastic but put a decent non American orientated rally driver in a proper prepared car and they would kill the current records

@trehammerz As you might heard the charge went fishing during the time attack so Gronholm lost half of the power. It's not Gronholm's fault but the fault of Ford motorsports.

@abgolf2 I agree with trehammerz. In 2009 two "of the best WRC drivers" came to Pikes Peak with properly prepared rally cars and they spent more time in the trees or picking up parts of their cars that fell off or broke. I was not impressed.

The roads on that hill are about 10 meters wide... compared to our europian 2 meters dirt asphalt or gravel roads this is a walk in a park.

They banned group b and gave us wrc, If you made the cars wrc spec in this event it would be like doing the same thing to pikes peak. Limiting a rally car to 300bhp is the biggest load of shit that ever happend to rally.

Just look up "group b".. Their the most rediculus fire breathing demons to ever tear up the dirt

@datn8 It will be in June or July. Next year will be the last year with any dirt. Starting 2012 the whole road will be paved.

Thanks for the post. Shame Millens car didn't live up to expectation. But what can you expect from a brand new and undeveloped car? That EVO sounds damned awful and boring. Just my opinion. Thanks again

Why was there zero live TV coverage of this? SPEED mentioned this 88th running with less than 5 sentences combined with "The SPEED Report" and "Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain" while VERSUS and ESPN had zero TV coverage of this. VERSUS has shown the Dakar Rally and the Silk Way Rally but "North America needs a racing TV channel" (search for that group on facebook).

I agree with you wholeheartedly. The 88th running of a motorsport event like this surely warrants more coverage from SPEED (sponsored by NASCAR!). I miss the days of watching WRC on OLN. :)

And the GT-ONE was the fastest car. But there wasn't a "fastest" car.
