In the 1970’s and 1980’s,, we would go to a place in Raleigh NC. called “Long branch” where we did the “2 Step” (dance), and this song was one of Greatest Songs to dance to. And Waylon Jennings came there one night,, and he did a great job doing this song,, along with All the songs he did.. Waymore fun,, at that time..
Haha, I've seen this video a dozen times and never noticed before that III breaks a string during the double-time fiddle solo. You can even hear a pop in the sound at about 3:37 or so when it happens, and you can see III blowing on his hands or something as if they got whipped by the string break. It's even hanging down from the head of the guitar at the end of the song.
I've heard of H3 a few years ago but the few songs I checked out didn't do much for me. Now later I find this older song and am totally blown away by his talent. I have revisted some of his punk country and opened up a little to; but I have to tell you that this song and another from the same venue I found today put this young man on the same pedestal with his dad and grandad in my book. A shame H3 is not of fire for this style of music; because he would recapute what country music should be.
There isnt a Williams that I've seen perform that isnt great!!!! I love him and his sister and neither one of them can get a bit of air time!!! Someone tell me what happened to country stations??? Do they not see and hear tallent when its right in front of them?
@finis83 They don't get Air Time because they are not "POP" Country and Hank will not conform to todays Music to get air time.. I have heard him on several XM and Sirius Radio stations thou....
legends arnt make there born and your one keep it up hope your around for my grand kids remember we love you and take care so have fun and dont sweat the small stuff it all small
Awesome performance by Hank III. His vocal quality is awesome. You can see in his eyes that he's not in his element. More power to Shelton for going his own way!!
@lindacraft1981 Agreed.... Shelton Hank 3 Has more talent in one of his big toes then these here new "pop" country singers have in their whole body.. I think his talent scares Nashville ..... The Best Personality and Attitude Ever.... HellBilly/ HellBetty 4 Life 4 Sure.... Much Respect!!
III could have had a very lucrative career as a pop radio king, and he almost did. I am under the impression that he got a taste for the Nashville establishment early in his career and did not like what he saw.
That crazy hillbilly, he's exactly like his grandfather, a great country singer.
