Absolutely eighties! A bit strange to see Foxx in this mode. But, A+ compared to what much of today's music has desolved into. But, then again, haven't people always said that about music? Case in point: My dad!!
A very romantic yet at the time futuristic track.Awesome stuff ! Still own a vinyl copy of the "The Garden" complete with the original art booklet that had all those fantastic photo images of churches in the north of the UK.
Genius. Such a change from barren car references and liquid metaphors (also brilliant). Presumably, the second microphone is feeding a vocoder to get that 'human host' effect as heard on the source recording The Garden.
These are the guys that stand behind that cardboard wall and make music for the boy bands now.

Saw three gigs of his tour. I think it was 1983. Hitchin, London Lyceum and Dominion Theatre Tottenham Court Road.
Magical!!

pity he fluffs some of the best lines in the song. Bilingual Spaniards watching the subtitles must have been a bit bemused...

Yes, I'm not quite sure you've grasped the point. Watch the video again, and see the *Spanish* subtitles. Presumably for a Spanish audience?
