@gymnasticsloverxoxo Yeah I mean the form is definitely not on par with Alicia's but she has much better landings and is right on direction, plus she gets a tonne of height. At the end of the day i do think Alicia deserved her medal, but Aliya deserved her silver too.
she gets much more heighth on her amanar than alicias DTY. so thats why its so amazing and it finda evens out the two scores. plus aliya has a better landing than alicia
a 9.233 for the first vault that had bent legs during the twist, one leg wrapped around the other (very kristen maloney-ish) during the twist, and leg seperation during pre-flight/block off the horse? really?
and the second vault...geez...was that supposed to be a piked front with a full twist?
I like Mustafina. But when I see her second vault, it makes me respect Khorkina more for her vault, even though tucked with an extra half twist, her body type and less strength, then Mustafina and her teammate, couldnt execute the front full well. It just makes me respect Khorkina a lil more.
first vault execution score is ridiculously overscored. 9.233?? WIDE open legs entering the aparatus, and crossed legs while twisting. I don't understand the hype about this girl, she surely has an amazing bars routine, but everything else is poorly executed.
@Bahzinhah That's why you're not a judge. There are other criteria that you need to take into consideration Her first vault was real good. Powerful, very high, very long, good rotation, landing full height, 2.5 twists completed. Some form deductions are totally at place with small step on the landing. Still not Rosu and Soviets , but real good. Her second valut was poorly executed. I totally agree with the placing. Alicia Sacramone was brilliant that day, but Mustafina was the 2nd )!
@lilidaification Sacramone only scored 9.2 with her much better executed vault. She had the same height, same distance, fully rotated, chest up, and her form was much better. So, why the lower score?
@ItsNastiaFan101 Firstly, I wasn't there, the angle is not perfect. But I checked several videos of their vaults. Sacramone's 1st vault was powerful, of beautiful clean form, but not the longest one, quite off centered( almost on the outer right line) and with huge adjusting jump step on the landing. Her 2nd double twisting Yurchenko was outstanding)), that's why she score 15,00 on it. ( Mustafina's first vault was dead centered with all other merits of it fully deserved the score)
@lilidaification The 9.2 was for the double twisting Yurchenko, not the Rudi. Mustafina's Amanar wasn't nearly as good execution wise as Sacramone's DTY. Compared to Mustafina, they were much harsher to Sacramone's double twisting Yurchenko. Mustafina's 2nd vault only scored .2 lower in execution than Sacramone's Rudi. How do you explain that? It's clear the judges were more lenient on the Russians in the final. Nabieva's "Amanar" was just barely under a 9 and it was a disaster.
@ItsNastiaFan101 I believe that in sport like gymnastics in order not to complain about the judges you have to be 2 steps ahead of everyone else, not one, like all great champions did, like Soviet did on their prime. I'm much happier about the new judging system with the separate scores for difficulty and execution and the requrements... though there's always a place for improvement. Secondly , Alicia was the 1st in 2010 and I truely believe, rightfully 1st!
@ItsNastiaFan101 So I don't feel there's a certain lenience towards the Russian Team. Third as we're talking about the vaults - non of them was perfect. I wouldn't complain about the Alicia's DTY, it wasn't perfect either. Once again there're technical merits of vaults , not just visual esthetical merits. Look at Elena Zamolodchikova's DTY in Sydney, an execution that's worth an Olympic medal. And Rosu's Amanar in Athens!!
@ItsNastiaFan101 And yes, you're right, Nabieva's vault in the vault final wasn't even given a credit as Amanar, it was a "disaster Amanar"))! But in team final she executed it very well. I wish she had a better form because it's gymnastics not a trick show! I like her though but for a different reason for being daring flying on bars the way she does, she has a good potential, but still not using it fully
@ItsNastiaFan101 I'd like to add, Alicia is a very strong vaulter, so much power and speed, clean form, still precision and control won't be unnecessary extras.. I mean her landings. And speaking about the form - Chinese have the most beautiful form on vaults right now, but they are not the best vaulters, ( not talking about extraordinary Cheng Fei) This Russian commentator is super annoying.. I hate when they praise their own athletes and neglecting others, he's so unprofessional..
I remember watching this and thinking she was headed straight for a knee injury the way she twists into the mat. Let me be clear; I do not wish an injury on any gymnast. I just think she wasn't quite ready to compete this vault. Its so sad because she is such a beautiful gymnast. I wish her a speedy recovery.
@msms68 Mustafina didn't deserve those scores. Therefore, it WAS cheating. Same with TF, where Mustafina and Afanasyeva were given credit for skills they did not complete, pushing them to the gold medal position, whereas the Americans, Romanians, and Chinese were getting devalued for the same skills.
Mustafina's 3/1 beam dismount in TF was not finished, but she got a 2 tenth boost. Neither of Afanasyeva's turns on FX were finished, but she also got a 2 tenth boost on one of them, too.
@ItsNastiaFan101 Oh, come on, check Izbasa's triple twist dismount in team final. Be fair. You know it's easier to blame judges than to be self critical. Athletes make mistakes , but in general I see that right now judging got much less biased.. You know during 80s , Bulgaria's team was very strong, they had very good gymnasts, whome I personally admired.. Back then it was really upsetting to see them out of medals, and some Germans..and Greeks..If you love this sport , be fair
@lilidaification Izbasa's triple twist was not credited in team finals, she was given a 5.7 for the D, not a 5.9 like she would've gotten with an F. The Americans had leaps devalued (2 of Raisman's leaps on beam and her switch ring on FX) as well as Bross's turn on FX. Considering Russia got credit for most of their incomplete elements while everyone else was getting devalued, I would say there definitely was a bias. Probably due to Russia being "back."
@ItsNastiaFan101 Well, if you prefer to think that way you have full right. Just want to ask you then, why Americans got deductions on choreogaphic elements, jumps and turns, why not Romanians or Chinese.. because their choreo basics are supreme. To my mind that's where Americans (Reisman and Bross ) have a weak spot just like the tumbling is for some Russians ( Dementieva and Semenova need to upgrade their difficulty) Though I found no problem with Bross's double L-turn.
@ItsNastiaFan101 )) It's like a duscussion club already, I'm totally out of the topic of your video. I'm expressing just my opinion, A. Raisman's choreo is lame and not artistic at all. Her FX is called excellent tumbling because she's a great tumbler. I hope they'll work on it, ( to avoid these kind of deductions she got at Worlds ) because I believe she deserves a medal on floor.
@ItsNastiaFan101 And as a matter of fact , the judges have the right to deduct on FX, if they don't like the style or the composition or the way a gymnast works ( or does't work) with the music.
@ItsNastiaFan101 About K. Afanasieva's choreo and turns, they're superb, you're right and it was correct judging to give her a credit for one of them.. When you admit your opponent's merits you'r go further, and your opponent gives you a full respect. Denying it is denying your own weak sides, and then you don't improve. I've seen some very promising and enjoying performances from US juniors, now S. Vega is a senior, and I admit she is a great floor worker, I expect great thing from her..
@ItsNastiaFan101 As well as Katelyn Ohashi..what a great gymnast, what a great beam routine, interesting, original, full of difficulty, great execution, clean lines, fair rythm!I wish her well, and I really wait her to advance and to make the future competitions and gymnastics in general exiting and surely to claim some medals. A. Mustafina is a star, a very bright one,and that's all there's to it. But she's not always perfect. What a pity she was injured.Gymnastics scene misses that character..
@peaceluvcheer97 As far as I'm Russian born, I read and listened to several interviews with her, though I never personally met her. She is a real nice character, and she's modest, fair, supportive, kind and friendly. She's stubborn , a natural leader and has a lot of poise and ambition. She's naturally gifted according to her coach A.Alexandrov, and it's obvious , she has wide range of different skills she performs evenly well. That's talant). Is that why she's that annoying? She's a star!
Why on earth does the FIG even bother with seating judges for V? They almost always stand up to see the vault better. Might as well get them bar stools and a small desk each.
The commentator just can't seem to SHUT UP! My God! I've seen a lot of videos where he is commenting and he just can't keep his mouth shut for more that two seconds. That is just... ANNOYING!
Ugly vault. She piked that thing worse that Sacramone does on Rudi. That's what happens when u chuck vaults.
I'm pretty disgusted that her Amanar scored higher that A-Sac's DTY. You should be getting more than .1 off each for crosslegs/bentknees and straddled pre-flight
She did round-off 180+frontflip piked 360. The difficulty score for that is 5.7. Claimed 6.1 would be if it was frontflip piked 540 or layout 360. Sad, but it's a fair deduction by judges.
@ItsNastiaFan101 yeah I know, her form needs to improve considerably.....the difficulty is there...but she needs to work on those things...but she's young and she has time to correct them!
@ItsNastiaFan101 The problem is that the judges continue to take deductions like they did before the COP changed in 2006. @ItsNastiaFan101 I was just going to comment on that. There is no way her E score should have been high than Alicia's. I always wonder where the judges get the deductions from. Do they expect the gymnasts to hit the roof and land off the mat?!
