  • You know that is Caron’s video Can hear the freeway

  • Interesting. your subject was a bright star but Caron’s subject, I believe was not. Example @ 0:55-1:30 of the Caron video clearly shows a bowl shape. Another question I have is: If the JVC camera was on a tripod and a bright object moved around would it still create the same “trail effect” that I guess you can’t disprove, I don’t know how you would.

  • Well done!

  • here something similar to carons but with clouds in the background to compare it to.

  • Looks like the same video to me. I am an amateur astronomer and it's not what I see at 48 X or less. You should stop pointing your telescope at your computer whilst surfing YouTube.

  • I still dont have a bite.

  • Lots of people video taped and witnessed this, these are not just squiggly lines or broken neon signs, keep on denier, soon you will see

  • yawn

  • Is bright object, not necessarily a star, can not provide the same type of effect on video?

  • wiggly lines are a sure, no fail sign of a highly advanced space alien entity visiting earth. ALL BOW BEFORE THEY NEW GOD! ;)

  • Just for sake of argument, let's assume Caron's particular video is a in fact a fake.

But that hardly explains the dozens of other credible sightings by credible observers, over many different nights and weeks, including two sightings by the local Constable, and by at least two other police officers, who also filmed an unusual UFO.

The Constable has spoken, while the other cops are mum, but we know on the Constable's word, the other cops saw and filmed it. Their film is as yet unreleased.

  • like u can believe a cop

  • It wasn't just one incident. It was a series of incidents over a period of weeks, with the first known sighting on Jan. 1/08.

There were a variety of phenomena observed, not just one type. The coloured "light show" was only one type of ariel phenomena observed. Dozens of witnesses saw unexplained

    sightings.

BTW the local Constable also took some photos

of the light show phenomenon, similar to

what Caron shot. Is he part of the faker conspiracy too?

  • Besides Lee Roy Gaitan, Erath County Constable, 2 other "cops" have now come forward as UFO witnesses.

Sheriff's Deputy Jim Clifton shot footage with his cruiser cam and said: "I've never seen anything like that before...I was very amazed ..."

Mike Zimmerman, ex-Texas Dept. of Public Safety Protective Detail officer who protected 5 Texas governors said: "...The whole beam would just shoot out there and just disappear. It was strange. I have never seen anything like this before at all."

  • Zimmerman's account was particularly compelling because of his obvious credibility and in noting a compass bearing to the objects he observed in the early morning hours just before sunrise on 31 January, 2008. Unfortunately there was a conjuction of Venus and Jupiter at that time, at 115 degrees azimuth or so. You can Google it. Perhaps bleary eyes were responsible for the "beams" shooting off. You are correct Bob, there are still other sightings in the area left UNEXPLAINED!

  • Identical flash rate of 450ms...and I mean identical. Play this video and Caron's video side by side in separate browser windows...the flash rate is in sync.

Anyone else out there with a JVC camera with "Night Alive" mode that can also confirm?

Move along folks...nothing to see here...

  • "and you could just make out the EXACT SAME light show on the bottom of the craft."

No you couldn't Xbiscuit. I've seen the video with the outline. You can't make out shit besides the shape and the round lights. And its what, 2 seconds of footage.

  • already debunked by a video analyst

  • It strives in the right direction to dissolve the fakers that attempt to decieve people. Would you rather have the truth about such incidents or continually be fed the lies by quick buck merchants.

  • Only problem is they saw something totally different to Caron and what he recorded. His footage has totally different form their reports. 15 minutes of fame.

  • 15 minutes? Where?

  • Ok, who is doubting the stephenville "lights" are a hoax after seeing this? What else would cause the strobe effect in 1 sec increments and look IDENTICAL! Obviously some cracker jack was trying to make it look as if the lights were some form of ET language.

  • Excellent work Sparky, As far as I am concerned you showed exactly what the video and camera did. I will link this to MUFON investigative directors and recommend a thank you.

Case closed on this particular video sighting I feel. Great work!

  • Garret, have you seen Dorothy Izzat's 30,000 feet of super 8 footage that she started filming in 1974? It looks quite similar although you cannot apply the same critique as these objects were in her back yard. Additionally the documentary crew filmed the same objects. Sure there are hoaxers out there, but this only furthers the disinformation; some footage is highly credible. I can show you how to fake just about anything, what pupose does it serve?

  • No, I'll check that out. I don't think this was a hoax, just a mistaken theory by an amateur. There where large UFOs in the area, no video but great cred in witnesses. Exactly right, we need to trim off the bad science so we can get to the good sightings. Just enthusiastic good folks outside of their knowledge here. Hoaxers know they are lying. These guys just mistaken and too excited to know better. Thanks for the data on Izzat.

  • To explain, I wasn't attempting to debunk or reveal a hoax. I merely zoomed in on a bright celestial object to try to determine if JVC's Night-Alive feature might be responsible for the unusual pulsing or strobing effect separating the "symbols." There may well have been a genuine UFO filmed in the original, or not. This only demonstrates that the "symbols" might instead be light trails, the result of relative motion and slow shutter speed rather than alien attempts to communicate.

  • I agree that it's important to do this research, but to display it in this venue only lends rise to disinformation. I live in Texas, I've seen lights like this first hand with my own eyes. Beyond that I've had contact experiences my entire life that I cannot fully understand. Sure there is BS out there, but there is plenty of reality to focus on. If this video isn't a debunk attempt then why does the title infer comparison to a posted UFO video?

You do seem sincere though, I'll give ya that.

  • I get that, but on ATS about 3 days earlier I suggested this and no one thought to try it. I figured the camera person just did not understand his equipment and I have a different cam. This video correctly duplicated the effect that I suspected knowing camera methods for low light. My cam has Super Night Shot Low Lux, but not color as it is older Sony Digital Hi8. Your cam did the trick. I sent the link to NorCal Mufon Dir of investigation and will talk to him tomorrow. Nice.

  • This is quite useless, can't you find something productive to do with your camera? Perhaps you're just a negative nancy.. what's next; you gonna fake bigfoot while you're at it?

  • This video does not intend to do that. It is only a video of Sirius filmed handheld and supported using a JVC camcorder in Night Alive mode. It is only demonstrating the results...nothing more, nothing less.

  • Do what? Prove it was a hoax? It definitely proves the "lights" were a hoax. Its identical. Besides, in the "lights" video, a lady from inside the house steps outside and says, "come in and finish the game." Come on, if this guy was really filming a mile long, half mile wide UFO, that someone would rather play a game and not out there witnessing the phenomena?

  • Excellent!!!

  • Wow. We all saw the "witnesses" on the news going on and on about those dancing lights. So we're talking about a planned hoax? Or is this separate. The chicks were saying "it was huge, and silent and had these lights on the bottom" plus the cop... BS eh.

  • Great vid

  • Superb debunking.

  • can you explain this in layman's terms? How does something in space move around like that?

  • The camera moves, not the object being filmed.

  • Right. That is exactly the case with this vid.

  • Its the camera, not he object being filmed.

  • Or it can be a combination of both the object and the camera that are moving, we just don't know.

  • At extreme zoom heartbeat and respiration cause jiggle as you see. You are seeing the camera persons heart mostly, but also breathing and muscle micro autonomic movement. Even with a professional tripod at max zoom you should not touch the cam or you get such movement.

  • Since witnesses confirmed that that's what they saw we can only rely on there testimony and not on the video alone. It is hard to tell if it's the camera shaking or the ufo its self is moving since JVC's "Night-Alive" mode can act very funky.

  • Excellent post, hopefully this will end the pointless discussion of this 'footage'.
