Anindo Chatterjee, and others. Each has their quality, Tari - most enjoyable by far, Tafo - fastest of anyone, Zakir - technical etc. etc.

ladoogak. I think that Tari sahebs performing with unknown singers is a display of his encouragement to them. If Zakir chooses to play only with the best, then that to his own disadvantage. One video on here shows Tari saheb being accompanied (while singing) by a not so good tabla player, but Tari saheb does not show any irritation with the guy!

i know ustad tari khan ji personally and will say that he has a great spiritual power in him and i assure you that what he does is not for money, but for love and art. i am sure he performs with people out of humility and love. he does not judge people as high or low. his playing comes from a place if high spiritual power!
