anyone who, actually, saw Tull at the place in time will, surely, remember how powerful and how dynamic this band was. They were probably the finest live performing rock band in history...and they were, certainly, paving new ground in rock. So glad to be reminded of this era in their liver performance.
This video clip is from the Jethro Tull DVD which I got from Tommygun yesterday. Any Tull fans out there - get the DVD - great price, great service and great music...
As the years pass this music keeps getting better and better as the new music keeps getting worse and worse. I'm so glad that I grew up during this era !!!
Interesting that that's Glenn Cornick on bass and not Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond. Perhaps they were trying out the material and GC left before they cut Aqualung in the studio?
How does one make a flute, rock! Okay, a good band helps too. Ian is a master at his art! And this from 1970? Wow, I'd not even heard of them until must have been a year or 2 later! Am I so old to have ever been so young! Good times, good times! My favorites are, but not limited to or necessarily in this order:

What is so amazing about Jethro Tull
was the ability to combine early styles
of english & celtic folk and classical
rhythms and combine jazz and hard
rock and make it all seem to meld into
something modern. they are truly unique.

Great Tommygun! Maybe you forgot Living in the past (a collection of course but with a lot of gems) but for the rest I totally agree. Good Christmas
