@nemoandbling I would try various types of hairsprays.....based on what texture hair you have, length, all that, also you can use stay in products before you curl it.

i have the same hair cut and thats what gives your hair the volume...just spilt your hair in two from ear to ear leaving at the bottom the amount of long hair you want (that will be your lenth) then from that top layer spilt two more layers ear to ear always trim the bottom layer first and make sure its long cause the layer above that will be the short one...i do it with my head fliped over then do the top layer by eye...i'll post a vid when i trim my layers :)

@MsBlueZombie its best to have layers, specially the top ones should be short otherwise the hair looks flat cause of the weight of it. most curls will stay at the tip of the hair so if u have lots of layers your hair will look curly and volumised throughout your head. it work for me and no need for hairsprays or anything. hope it helps you ;)

when you curl your hair, what do u do to avoid getting that line that a flat iron gives you? im not sure how to explain it but sometimes the curl has a hard line going right through it from the edge of the iron. that always gives me a hard time when i try to curl my hair with my flat iron.

some flat irons are only designed for straightening hair rarther then curling so that is proberly why it is causing a line. i use GHDs they are designed for curling and straightening hair. they also come with a dvd to show you how to curl and straighten which is really useful. you should try some new flat irons, and get a pair which say they are desiggned for curling too. (hope i helped :S) :) xx

i get an A-line choppy haircut , thats what my stylist calls it. I have so many layers that give the top volume but she knows how to cut it to maintain the length AND when you get it cut make sure at the bottom it is cut in V shape, not straight across, also i dont let them use razors in cutting my hair, just scissors. hope this helps!

im glad you tried it!! make sure you have a really good flat iron, i have friends that there hair is so bad but i manage to get it looking good, from straight hair to dry. I honestly think the right flat iron makes a huge difference. other than that use serum at the tips to avoid frizz. I always let my hair air dry, never blow dry, thats how my volume is created on top.
