i like the vid and the music looks like you work for the BG group by the m/soft campus i was there today as i am a field service engineer. I had a coffee with Dexter nice people there :)
Anyone else notice that total spoon in the Passat from 1.11 -
Worthy of special metion waws the section 2.00 - 2.15 where he was driving like a total jerk...i suppose we can hope he crashes one day killing only himself!!
This video is in my favourites and I never noticed that (between 2:00 and 2:15) - it could have turned into "Timelapse of Bristol to Leigh Delamere ending in horrific multiple pile-up".
you have got to be joking.... i tried it for 2 months. 5 cancelled trains. numerous times without a seat. cost was £600 a month plus parking at bristol parkway. I would leave home at 6.30 to get parked at parkway and get the 7am to reading. it would arrive in reading at 8.15. I would then have to wait for the TVP bus which would then take up to 30-45 mins to make its way through the traffic. So i would be lucky to get to work for 9 or 915 after leaving home at 6.30.
i would love to be able to use the train but it just doesn't work due to FGW incompetence and the governments overall plan that has shredded the railways.
There should be 2 companies per line to increase competition and raise standards. The monopoly situation that exists on the bristol to london line is not in the customers interest.
you could have sped it up more and added some music to make it more interesting. also, it would have been nice if the camera was higher, so that half the screen wasn't your dash.
it was all kind of an afterthought. The camera was wedged between the top of the seat and the headrest. Any closer to the windscreen and the camera started to focus on the windscreen instead of the road. Yeah, no music is a bit rubbish but i just haven't got round to it .....
Any Smurfs looking for a soundtrack to listen to while watching: For some good aural tension try watching 'Bristol to Reading' with Tangerine Dream's - Mojave Plan, starting about 3 minutes into the music with the beginning of the video. -OR- if that's too intense, Smurfette likes George Fenton's - You've Got Mail Suite, though too short to match video time.
ugh, this is totally awesome but I can barely watch it! I get so sick everytime it speeds up and then stops right behind another vehicle. I can feel the lurch of the car. yikes.
Great video, but...that commute is REALLY bad for the environment. For every 5 miles a person drives, 5 lbs. of pollution are pumped into the air. There's probably a hole in the ozone layer with your name on it, LOL.
Also...I've been watching these British time-lapse videos, and I wonder--does the sun EVER shine in England? I'm not trying to be snarky, I honestly am curious. :)
I completely agree with you on the environmental side but my company will not allow me to work from home more than once a week. If i want to take the train, it will cost over £700 a month and you aren't even guaranteed a seat for that money. It also takes me an extra 90-120 mins a day to commute via train. All in all, its not financially viable or remotely convenient to commute any other way than to drive. I try and minimise the environmental impact by car sharing whenever i can as well.

A FGW train would take less time and a lot less stress. You could relax on your way home and have a cup of tea!

By car ,i was at work at 8 or 8.15.
travelling by FGW to reading was not cost effective, not quicker, not relaxing and not worth it.
and i can have a cup of tea in the car...
(end rant ...)

FGW's HSTs now have 30 extra seats per carriage.
But, perhaps (esp with the bus journey at the other end) it is not a good idea.
Just thought going at 125 mph would be better than 80 mph.

same day ticket bristol to london return = £137 .... daylight robbery.
sometimes in business you are needed at short notice.
on the railways , you are penalised for this. in a car, the cost is static.
This is the biggest problem with getting business out of the car.

You can change the music without reloading the vid. From the front page of YouTube (at the bottom), click on TestTube, then click on MusicSwap.

done, thanks .... The music i have chosen is similar to the stuff i listen to when driving ....

Good stuff but it makes the M4 look even uglier. What scares me is the spped that the maniacs on the other side of the motorway are doin!
