@ashrocks87 The Antec will definately be much cheaper and still an excellent option. Some of Antec's employees obviously take their jobs for granted though the job that was done on mine made that clear to me, I had to RMA the first because it had rust in the motherboard tray and hard drive cages in the screw threads. And I had to pull the top fan apart because the O-ring was on the side wall not on the shaft under the cir-clip so it kept making knocking noises.
@acidspoodie Pt.2. So I fixed the top fan (my replacement 902) still basically I had to pull the whole case apart and re-assemble it to eliminate any vibration because it wasn't put together too tight. Now the top fan thing seems to stem back even to pre-release web reveiws as I've read a few that the reviewer seem to make a point about it. But other than that 902-1200 Antec cases are awesome, noisey on full with no humming, but no where near as loud a a gpu fan.
@ashrocks87 Brand new one? RMA means Return Material Authorization (send back under warranty due to fault for replacement). If that's what your asking. Otherwise yeah I prefer to buy stuff brand new with warranty, second hand stuff can be dodgy.
yeah, im gonna buy brand new pc parts..we're gonna sell our car this august because of a new company car. so we're getting spendy spendy with our money so i guess i can buy the higher end stuff
@ashrocks87 But it depends on how much your parents are willing to spend, if your limited to choosing parts to fit a budget then I'd definately get the antec and spend the extra elsewhere, like gpu or cpu or 6 core compatible motherboard. But if you can go nuts then go nuts with HAF-X. I'm definately going to get the HAF-X since my pc will eventually be a Multi-Media/Gaming rig. I need those hot swaps for backing up and the wheels, I'll paint them chrome, like my lawn mower.
@acidspoodie this is gonna be my specs. pls feel free to change things here because as i said, it's still in august case: antec 1200 / cm hafx cpu:i7 gpu:radeon 5870 mobo:asus rampage 3 or p6t deluxe v2 or msi eclipse sli HDrive:seagate 1tb dvdrom:samsung sh233 or something Psu: corsair 1000w cpu cooler: CM hyper 212 plus RAM:patriot viper 2x3 gb OS: windows 7 professional or Ultimate... pls if you want, change it into better stuff.. i will get stuck with this until it gets obsolete.thanks
Im not a big fan of the HAF styling but I might have to buy this when it comes out. Its big, has lots of airflow and since I have an antec 900 I swore I would never buy a case that doesn't have dust filters. If this is under $250 Au Ill buy it.
Awesome case, and release version will have dust filters, you can find all the info on the case on the CoolerMaster webpage. I want it to have those cool wheels like the HAF 932 though, i loved those wheels case i could move it around when my case was on the floor.
Not bad, about time they coat the interior black. Regarding the Corsair Obsidian 800D comment, this case has no dust filters by the looks of it... com'n this is not asking for much. Still prefer my 800D.
If there's dust filters on all of those intake fans then i'd go with it because protecting my hardware from the dust monster is priority number one. Right now though i'm leading towards the Silverstone FT02 but i'll definately get the HAFX if there's dust filters on every intake.
A Video on coolermaster's channel confirms dust filters for the haf-x, whether or not they put one on the side panel is an interesting question. Lets hope they do :D
Honestly, this looks fail to me. The only thing it has over the HAF932 is quad sli support, and honestly the way Nvidia has been doing lately who cares.
@testkurva The Corsair 800D was never a good case. It's so overrated; I don't know why people like it so much. Sure it's big, sure it has lots of cable management, and sure it has a window. But the damn case has absolutely no ariflow. The only use for the 800D is if you're going with water cooling.
@YamiPoyo Corsair sells those little ALC coolers for cpus. If you used one of those, you would still need airflow for the graphics cards. The only reason to buy the 800D is if you're going to be buying a custom water cooling kit that is going to end up cooling the cpu, motherboard, and graphics cards.
@Bigducey101 Well no kidding, lol. There are practically no places to put intake fans on this case though, which is the main problem with it if you're planning on getting the case for air cooling. A lack of intake is bad for two reasons.
1. You don't get cool air into your case in order to cool things off. The hot air is exhausted, but there still isn't any cool air, which is really what helps to cool components
2. It causes negative pressure, which means dust build up.
@Vortex1988 Few other cases have more intake fans, and they have two at the front instead. If you want positive pressure you simply take out the top fan closest to the front (this does not come as standard on purchase anyway). The side fan (200mm) and front fan (230mm) will outweigh the 140mm rear and 200mm top fans.
@testkurva I have to say as a owner of Corsair 800D I kinda regret my purshase, I bought it becuse I thought it looked good, had hotswap and was quiet. But unfortunetly it get easily scratched and a magnet to fingerprints and doesn´t cool well despite I have removed all original fans and put two 140mm fans at the top. I wish I had bought the Silverstone raven 1 instead.

Hey I don't know if anyone noticed this but they dont show all the accessorys. Also A very big thing I noticed is look to the left of the pci slots, there are to rivit or holes and those are the exact same holes on the CM 692 which are used to mount the VGA bracket. So I think this is a model taken off the line but they never showed what came with it besides the really cool psu cover and other plastic piece. @ashrocks87 it has dust filters
The Antec 1200 @ newegg is $149USD down from $199USD.
The HAF-X is out in June @ $199USD according to Hardware Cancucks Review. After seeing that review I can't actually recommend the Antec 1200.

@neider1
does it differ if i use 2 500gbs instead of 1 tb?? raid 0 will be faster??
im new to this
ashrocks87 1 year ago
@ashrocks87 raid 0 will be faster, you must have 2 identical HDD and set them from the begin in RAID 0.
Half of the data will be on one HDD and the other half on the other HDD.
So when it loads the data will be loaded form 2 HDD so it will be faster.
Even faster is an 80GB SSD drive, but those are very expensive

oh ok! what hdd do you recommend??

should i go for 2 500gbs western digital??
