Thats great! Most popular, and one of the best then why is it so hard to gets parts for.For example the charging cradle. Was $19.99 now over $30. I can't even order one through West Marine ? Thanks guys! I'm alittle disappointed.
I had this exact radio and there is only major problem and one minor problem. Major: it uses a fixed antenna and the interregnal connection will break if used alot mine lasted 1 summer but that's with carring mine for hours a day teaching sailing. Minor: no lanyard hole
@DMANGUY14 Unfortunately, the FCC requires a fixed antenna because the radio has FRS built-in. I know it sounds odd, but that's the law. The antenna can be removed, but it's a hassle. Sorry!
@0122358 We have a small number of the original radios in our stores. These are new radios, but the last of our version. If you provide your zip code, I'll tell you which stores still have stock in your area. You can contact me at c h u c k h @ w e s t m a r i n e . c o m. You may also be interested in the Uniden VHF 550, which is a very similar radio. We don't carry it, however.

@SoccerDJRob FRS is Family Radio Service, which can be used on land without a license. Very handy.

@0122358 This radio is no longer available, although Uniden made a similar radio which may still be in some stores. The retail price was around $200.
