If you think of buying this game DON`T, you'd be better off with a pencil and a piece of paper playing tic tac to. There's a huge learning curve, once your past that, you discover that this game is lame and pointless. Pvp consist of activating your weapons and waiting for other to die. Eve has the largest player turnover of all mmos, millions have tried it, but only a few thousand stayed. And there`s no in gm to help...all they have is a bot that replies: Sorry, it`s game mecanics.

@HFUstoreit1 What's doctrine against a smaller fleet have to do with anything? They're a close ranged fleet being jumped by a sniper fleet, without a warp to no "doctrine" will magically fix it. Yes, the chances of a 'ceptor MWD'ing across 200k is a little far fetched, but the principle is there. Equally, why would you drop dreads for a station camp? Finally, "kill them all" is a perfectly fine shout when you've got your fleet up close and are primary'ing by range, doesn't need anything else.
@fmalphons A fairly valid action - Fight or Flight still applies to Eternal beings: blasted clones are damn expensive, when you hold an infinite amount of Knowledge in your cranium. :)

I was around in the last independent war in the eve universe. I was around when the eve world had a point. Now its just political factions that consist of one small leadership caste, and thousands upon thousands of slave soldiers. Its not your space, its theirs, and it always will be until ccp takes back their game.
Anyone that was even remotely decent in that game has stopped playing years ago. Now its all ultra noob industrialists and other short bus.
Actually to the few who still play this game as a coherent fighting force and not noob swarms.. eve has a lock on range of 150km minimum to iniate an on site "micro" jump. not to be confused with micro warp drives. the enemy as said in the movie had came in long range fitted 200km+. Realistically though no ceptor could have ever made such a charge. as support ships range fitted are assigned the task to pick them off.
Any good fighting force knows this and will already have a ceptor of there own backtracking to provide a fallback on site jump. any good fc will have ordered the whole fleet to align pre hand. find my old m8's in exotic dancers or casting shadows.. theyll teach you. why people use slow cov ops to provide the 0 point i dont know... there only good for probing and gate scouting.

Mass Effect didn't copy Eve. Mass Effect is a 3rd person shooter RPG and Eve is a spaceship perspective MMORPG.

@Sirblader11 EVE is hardly the first game set in space, so I don't see what the argument's aboute. EVE copied Homeworld. Homeworld copied Master of Orion. And so on...
EVE has great atmosphere and backstory, but it really doesn't do that much with it. As an MMO, with the inevitable "c00k13m0n5t3r hit you for 49 shield damage with bloodclaw missile" and Brony corporations, it really can't.
listening to this guy talk about this stuff as if it were real makes him sound like such a loser. but then i think about the times ive done similar things myself in a ship as insignificant as an interceptor, completely shifting the tide of a major battle and how exhilarating it was. and im not sure what to think anymore lol because i can relate to it.

Its unfortunate the main body of the game is space ships fighting it out. I think that get played after a while. The other thing I never even considered buying Eve because I am sure that the game is not as visually stunning as the promotional demos. In fact I have seen the game itself on YT and it is way uninteresting. I think the effort is great overall though. I draw a blank when trying to figure out what more they could do to enhance or even improve on the graphics etc. Help needed-
@theoryg trust me- i've been playing for a year now and only done like 5 fights because I focus on mining and running the market. Everything but the person u saw in that video is gameplay. It has the UI turned off which any player can do (cntrl-f9). the game isn't easy, give it a 14 day trail and take me up on this offer: Its good- it just requires a little faith to get off the ground.

@DwightMcCarthy4nr Most people don't have 3D design software at their disposal, and EVE is already taking steps in that direction with their Tech 3 cruisers, with modular ship sections. Though what do you mean exactly by "total freedom"? You mean like Tech 3, but with many more options, or the ability to make ships in 3D modeling software from scratch? Because realistically, EVE ships are far too high-def to make mass produced ship sections to mix and match.
@Synthmilk It's something I really want because I've done a few designs that I love, I just demand some freedom to design ship shape and appearance, just decide the form, size, amount and position of components so can design a unique and distinctive ship, in second life, for example,can design almost anything, im not demanding too much

I have to say that eve to date still has one of the most immersive, impressive and socially dynamic in game community ever. The inside jobs and betrayals that go on are amazing... especially corrupt leaders etc. It's just a shame that the game really requires your complete attention for long periods of time, and it costs a lot. Very few people cover their gaming fee in game, and this game will eat your social life. You'll wake up and realise you have no real friends anymore. Thats why I quit.
@DwightMcCarthy4nr Allowing each and every player to custom design their own ship/s by textures/logos/paint let alone a different mesh would be a disaster of the largest data bandwidth spam proportions. In simpler words; every player would need to download every other players ship textures/mesh objects every time you come into view of said object (Jita comes to mind...). However if your only after the change to be noticeable for _your self_ that would be feasible. And cool I agree...

@Alex3D3D Alex if you are looking for a fast easy way to make ISK and meet alot of good pilots join the Armor Fleet Head Quarters Channel. Ask for Jim Dublin, Zonic Maga or Balin Tovak or convo Fadul. Tell Fadul that Dryson Bennington sent ya and that you are looking to make ISK. Trust me the AFHQC guys will take care of you.
@Rachiou077 If you are looking for a quick way to make ISK join one of the Incursion Fleets in your region. You can make 300 million ISK in about five hours if you are with a good fleet. Check out Armor Fleet HeadQuarters Channel TheBienator and ask for Fadul or Green Pimp. Tell them Dryson Bennington sent ya and they will take care of you guaranteed. If you do not have any luck convo Hothcar he is an old corp mate and will point you in the right direction.

Tip from a new player like myself: join a corp, get on ventrilo, teamspeak w/e they use and ask questions. You will learn much faster, you won't get stuck as often and you'll actually enjoy the game. There are plenty of corps out there recruiting noobs because you are viable to them once you are experienced.
The thing about EVE is, what they show you on a commercial DOES happen every day. Everyone has a role. Doesn't matter if you are 100M skill point vet or 3m skill point beginner. You are still viable in EVE.
@EvilMoogIe u just need to stick with it like a month or two, maybe join Eve University and ul know exactly what ur doing but everyone learns stuff all the time in this game
The ceptors were, at most, at 0 m/s for a split second while turning around, and the enemy likely couldn't lock them fast enough
Well If the Snipers are worth their salt (As the video shows their NOT But whatever)
But if they were then their Overviews should of been set to Order by range (Reason for this is it makes it easy to spot speedy Frigs comming at you.) As for the 0m/s for a split second no they were most likly at 10m/s-15m/s for quite awhile. easy targets for the big guns

Mass Effect didn't copy Eve. Mass Effect is a 3rd person shooter RPG and Eve is a spaceship perspective MMORPG.
Just because they both have spaceships and lasers doesn't mean shit. If it did, then they both copied Star Trek for fucking sake. I can't stress you people enough.

@Sirblader11 EVE is hardly the first game set in space, so I don't see what the argument's aboute. EVE copied Homeworld. Homeworld copied Master of Orion. And so on...
EVE has great atmosphere and backstory, but it really doesn't do that much with it. As an MMO, with the inevitable "c00k13m0n5t3r hit you for 49 shield damage with bloodclaw missile" and Brony corporations, it really can't.

listening to this guy talk about this stuff as if it were real makes him sound like such a loser. but then i think about the times ive done similar things myself in a ship as insignificant as an interceptor, completely shifting the tide of a major battle and how exhilarating it was. and im not sure what to think anymore lol because i can relate to it.

Its unfortunate the main body of the game is space ships fighting it out. I think that get played after a while. The other thing I never even considered buying Eve because I am sure that the game is not as visually stunning as the promotional demos. In fact I have seen the game itself on YT and it is way uninteresting. I think the effort is great overall though. I draw a blank when trying to figure out what more they could do to enhance or even improve on the graphics etc. Help needed-

@theoryg trust me- i've been playing for a year now and only done like 5 fights because I focus on mining and running the market. Everything but the person u saw in that video is gameplay. It has the UI turned off which any player can do (cntrl-f9). the game isn't easy, give it a 14 day trail and take me up on this offer: Its good- it just requires a little faith to get off the ground.

It is, even more than that. The only thing you don't have is cinematic cam-movement. You have to do it yourself :P Graphics are topnotch tbh

@DwightMcCarthy4nr Most people don't have 3D design software at their disposal, and EVE is already taking steps in that direction with their Tech 3 cruisers, with modular ship sections. Though what do you mean exactly by "total freedom"? You mean like Tech 3, but with many more options, or the ability to make ships in 3D modeling software from scratch? Because realistically, EVE ships are far too high-def to make mass produced ship sections to mix and match.

@Synthmilk It's something I really want because I've done a few designs that I love, I just demand some freedom to design ship shape and appearance, just decide the form, size, amount and position of components so can design a unique and distinctive ship, in second life, for example,can design almost anything, im not demanding too much

I have to say that eve to date still has one of the most immersive, impressive and socially dynamic in game community ever. The inside jobs and betrayals that go on are amazing... especially corrupt leaders etc. It's just a shame that the game really requires your complete attention for long periods of time, and it costs a lot. Very few people cover their gaming fee in game, and this game will eat your social life. You'll wake up and realise you have no real friends anymore. Thats why I quit.

@DwightMcCarthy4nr Allowing each and every player to custom design their own ship/s by textures/logos/paint let alone a different mesh would be a disaster of the largest data bandwidth spam proportions. In simpler words; every player would need to download every other players ship textures/mesh objects every time you come into view of said object (Jita comes to mind...). However if your only after the change to be noticeable for _your self_ that would be feasible. And cool I agree...

A more likely scenario is you are in a fleet of 10 and you run into a 30+ swarm and die a horrid death.
It’s very rare to see an even fight in eve.

@Rachiou077 If you are looking for a quick way to make ISK join one of the Incursion Fleets in your region. You can make 300 million ISK in about five hours if you are with a good fleet. Check out Armor Fleet HeadQuarters Channel TheBienator and ask for Fadul or Green Pimp. Tell them Dryson Bennington sent ya and they will take care of you guaranteed. If you do not have any luck convo Hothcar he is an old corp mate and will point you in the right direction.

Tip from a new player like myself: join a corp, get on ventrilo, teamspeak w/e they use and ask questions. You will learn much faster, you won't get stuck as often and you'll actually enjoy the game. There are plenty of corps out there recruiting noobs because you are viable to them once you are experienced.

The ceptors were, at most, at 0 m/s for a split second while turning around, and the enemy likely couldn't lock them fast enough
Well If the Snipers are worth their salt (As the video shows their NOT But whatever)
But if they were then their Overviews should of been set to Order by range (Reason for this is it makes it easy to spot speedy Frigs comming at you.) As for the 0m/s for a split second no they were most likly at 10m/s-15m/s for quite awhile. easy targets for the big guns
