  • that woman has the sexiest beauty i've ever seen.

  • Since when is prayer, "... the most American thing we can do?" If you have any common sense and are a Texas resident, please move somewhere else to save yourself the embarrassment of being associated with these neanderthals.

  • David is cutting down Texas???

  • David looks of middle eastern descent!

  • hello is your name " Hiram???"

  • "Prayer is coming under fire..." Right off the bat facepalm.

  • may they all pray and have non of them come true

  • Wait...did he say that praying is one of the most American things we can do?

  • That woman... damn just let the man SPEAK!

  • Hiram's face looks like it was poorly superimposed over someone else. It's... Mesmerizing...

  • Ummm A National Day of (Christian) Prayer?? "Congress passes a specific statute, a LAW?" WAIT A SECOND!!! Isn't there something about "Separation of Church and State?"

Now if Gov. Perry (Or Congress in 1952) was a Muslim, Buddhist, Jew, or any other religion other than Christian he and Congress would be laughed out of office. But since Perry's a "Christian," it's perfect okay to do. Hmmm there's something wrong about that kind of thinking. Something most Christian simply can't comprehend

  • @coyoteself separation of church and state, as mentioned in the first amendment, prohibits congress from passing any laws that try to prohibit the practicing of a religion, however,it does not prohibit the incorporation of a religion or religious practices, etc. into the gon'vernment and laws. so long as it doest prohibit the practicing of another religion, and a prayer days do not, they do not violate the separation of church and state, as it is written in the constitution.

  • @wburton16 So in effect you're saying is that it allows for the creation for a "State Religion" (Christianity) which is okay? Sounds like you're splitting a convenient hair which could become a slippery slope, You might want to look at the problems with the Pledge of Allegiance when in 1954, the phrase "Under God" was added. Just because of that one phrase we can't even say the Pledge in public schools because of Separation of Church and State. So you may want to rethink your position

  • really suing a mayor just for holding a prayer meeting? most atheist will do anything to get people to believe their nonsense wont they?,,,

  • @mdslick1 oh the irony.....

  • Damn, that bible-thumper looks like one hella inbred mothahfuckah. I hope he wins a Darwin Award some day. I hate the thought of him passing those genes on.

  • Eh..ya they don't have a case at all (the atheist dude) if public funds were being used I could possibly see a case of government endorsement of religion.

Such as public funds being used to rent out a stadium or something.

But they are not, though he does have a point that religion is used as a cover for incompetence, it has nothing to do with law.

  • @Dethreid where do you think the retards pay check comes from? perry and all the other crazy people need to realize that religion KILLS and that there is nothing besides reality and religion NEEDS TO BE BANNED FROM GOVERNMENT fucking stupid shitty religion.

  • @DaMirrorLink you made no sense just now....

so you think there should be a religious test to have a position in government?

he is paid to govern, now if he tries to enforce laws which are religiously motivated but not able to be defended on secular grounds that is different, so far he has not done that and he is free to make himself look like a arrogant bible thumper so long as he isn't derelict in his governing duties.

  • ._. The germans thought they had God on their side too. Derp.

  • Shame he's not aware of his own limitations

  • Every other president?

I want to hear one from Jefferson

  • HAHA, the "Liberty" Institute, good one.

  • To say that god won the second world war for the US is stupid. Its not better then what the medieval kings of Europe said. In every little petty war between kingdoms each king would claim to have god on his side.

  • Wow all I needed to hear was "American" and "Family" in the organization's name and I immediately knew it would be fail.

  • Silverman could've taken it from a different angle that may have been considered "conservative", but is actually more libertarian. He could've said that just like the government has no right to use the taxpayers' money to fund alternative sexual lifestyles with birth control and abortion against the majority's will, they have no right to use the taxpayers' money to fund a religious event against the will of a minority. Silverman probably believes in funding birth control and abortion however.

  • These Christians always like to point out other things where our government has promoted Christianity as if that makes it okay for them to do so now.

  • @sfm073 Yes, so true. That would be like saying lets have slaves because our founding fathers supported slavery.

  • Obama didn't even attend the national day of prayer .....

  • Why are atheists so angry, leading public attacks on religion? Doesn’t it seem

inconsistent that people could be so angry with a God they don’t believe exists?

  • @dewerbylhserf You are confusing anger with passion. Imagine if you were promoting slavery and a black person was speaking about their freedoms being violated, and you said,, why are you so angry. USA is NOT a christian nation, it is secular. You are violating the rights of people who do not share your religious beliefs by pushing religion in schools. That is what your tax free church is for (another thing I think is wrong. I would tax the shit out of religion myself)

  • @dewerbylhserf also... Atheists are not angry at god, that would be like being angry at the Easter bunny, it's a myth. But gods fan club pisses me off when they think they can violate human rights with their delusions.

  • Does anyone look at rick perry and see a snake oil salesman of the old west.

The slime almost ouzes out of him.

If ever elected to your countries highest office, we will be in a dire state indeed.

  • Need we emphasize that one of the churches involved in this event promotes hate toward homosexuals.

  • “Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?” - Epicurus ~300 B.C

  • Fix'n things...yeah Governor, god's gunna fix things there in TX...he sure was busy fix'n all those burnout houses, now wasn't he?

That prayer fiasco you held by using your office as Governor, illegally I might add, really helped with the drought now didn't it...hmm.

Governor, do us all a favor, you and George Bush take a long walk off a short plank, today would be good for all of us!

With all due respect Mr. Perry, you are an embarrassment to any intelligent human being on Earth.

  • @JOHNINCOLUMBUS - Yeah, he knows how to fix things alright. While taking money from FEMA for those fires that they had down there, while on the campaign trail telling the gullible folks that big govt. is not needed! The hypocrisy is overwhelming with these politicians! All the prayers in the world didn't save those homes from the fire? Such a outrage!

  • @VirgilB01 - These people like Perry, Bachmann, Palin, are a danger to intelligence, they feed on ignorance and spread their own every time they open their mouths. Has this country become so stupid that these idiots are who people willingly vote for? When Perry talks he sounds like George Bush, maybe even dumber, I didn't think that was possible, apparently I was wrong! Just listen to him...OMG...what a charlatan.

  • @JOHNINCOLUMBUS - You can't really blame the people who vote for such persons due to the fact that our current president and administration has failed to provide jobs and fix our suffering economy. So people are willing to vote for lunatics or disturbed canidates that would result in a far worse situation than the one we are in. Remember this is how under simular circumstances that Hitler rose to power in 1931.

  • @VirgilB01 - What, you can't blame people for voting for these idiots? If it weren't for their votes they wouldn't be in office, what are you talking about? Obama inherited this economic mess that was created under boy genuis Bush and his Bankster base friends...there is plenty of blame to go around, but have you noticed, everything Obama proposes to get us out of this mess, the GOP turn down, the GOP is ANTI-AMERICAN to it's core.

  • @JOHNINCOLUMBUS - This is another argument. The people who you speak of are not in office, they are running for office and I personally do not support these candidates based on their policies and what they could do for the country. To be fair our current president is equally or more so at fault, yes he inherited a economic mess, but what has he done to fix the problem? We have a 9%+ unemployment along with record foreclosures and a economy that is headed to a major collaspe, perhaps a -

  • depression and this administration continues to take any responsibility for any wrongdoing by continuing to blame Bush and his administration who has not been in office for more than 2 yrs. He has also a 40% approval rating by his own party and Democrat supporters, and a far worse rating for the Congress. So I cannot blame others who are angry and vote those who are delusional and possibly dangerous. Both sides are at fault equally and as a country we have very little choice.

  • @VirgilB01 - I see you don't understand the extent of the damage 8 years of Bush did to the country and to the world. Obama has been blocked every step of the way by the very people that created the economic catastrophe we are living through...I don't know where you've been for the last 10 years...maybe you should follow current events a bit closer!

  • @JOHNINCOLUMBUS - Excuse me Sir, but I do watch current events. Just because I don't agree with you on this issue doesn't mean I don't follow current events. You are making a argument on Ideology and not on realistic points of view. To say that this president and the current administration is by no way partly responsible for our economic mess is not only irreponsible, but insane. It would be the same if I argued with someone who had a Conservative point of view or who supported Bush.-

  • @VirgilB01 - Touche' - I am not defending the Obama administration, and certainly not Bush, to me they are equally disgusting. The more I see, read and hear, the less and less I side with either party. Our government is in a state of chaos, we have no one able to fix it, and the ones running for office are a farce...I am seriously thinking of moving out of America, it isn't the same place I used to admire and love.

  • Both sides are responsible for this mess we are in, and Obama promised to fix the problems in which are now double that of the past administration and is still failing to do so. He has told African Americans who has supported this president that is now waning to "Stop Complaining" due to the fact that African Americans are at 16% unemployment alone and are desperate for work, double that of any other group! While at the same time campaigning to earn another 4 yrs. Both sides must come together-

  • and stop the nonsense before this country that we now know will be no longer! To blame one or the other will not fix or correct the problem, and THAT'S the problem we are having now! Politicians are all the same, and we will continue to degrade until America stands up and demands for leaders that will look out for the people's best interest and not their own before it's too late!

  • @VirgilB01 - The country I knew and grew up in, is no longer, and that's right now!

  • @JOHNINCOLUMBUS - Well that's everybody.

  • This is stupid. And I'm agnostic.

  • God made us Americans won WW2? All this time I thought it was because of superior economy, numbers, and the fact that the Axis powers were all ready fighting a war prior to US entery. My how little I know.

  • @1StoryImageFigure1 Me too, I am ashamed of my ignorance...Hahahahaha :D

  • I hate how atheists act. Im atheist and this is so silly. Its not a mandatory PRAYER meeting. Seriously. Dont worry about it.

  • @Spiffx615,

It's not silly. The issue that should've been pushed here is that religion has no place in politics, period. There's a separation of church and state for a reason, and that is to grant us freedom FROM religion, as well as freedom of religion. Any political candidate that relies on faith, and a specific denominational faith at that, is in violation of this crucial political mandate.

  • @AcquiredKnowledge - Religion has a tax exempt status because it's not supposed to influence government, it has broken that contract, it now has to be TAXED, just like all other businesses...TAX RELIGIONS NOW!

We all need to contact our Congressmen & Senators to repeal the TAX EXEMPT STATUS for religions, IMMEDIATELY!

  • Detonating two nukes in civilian populated cities was a direct cause and significant contribution to victory in WWII. Massacring millions of innocent people is actually the signature work of the OT God.

  • lol plugs his website in the end...dick move.

I fricken hate that guy, hes so full of himself and an asshole.

  • what a prick, plugging his website.... i really hate that dude, he seems like an asshole & idiot.

  • If I remember correctly, the prayers for rain were unsuccessful. There was an increase in wildfires.

    How does that figure in?

  • @billygutter01

eaaassy boy , we're all friends here ;p

  • I know there IS GOD, I Know religion has fuck all to do with that fact. brainwashing for the ignorant. PEACE

  • The atheist starts listing off facts and the news anchor cuts him off , "Woah, woah, buddy. Stop right there, this is FOX News, we're all about strong opinions, but no facts allowed."

  • @TheDudimus loved it.

  • God helped win WW2 but couldn't stop it before it started? God is either incompetent or an asshole. Damn theists are stupid!

  • @nhbiker1961 -Yip! You are correct.

  • @nhbiker1961 Derp god killed ~40-60 million people, lets praise him for being good and ending the war, even though he had the power to prevent it with no effort hurrrr.

  • @nhbiker1961 no there not. you may just think of it in a negitive way. may i explane to you why i think this?

  • NAMEDROP

  • Rick is a dick... a clueless dick

  • David Silverman is a jew!

  • Derp.

  • these atheists piss me off. im atheist btw. why the hell are they policing people over a damn prayer session? i am extremely for separation of government and religion but this really wouldn't have done any thing and literally if your an atheist. so why the big fuss? if a crowed wanted to do some stuff with spirituality together why cant they? its like an atheist was voted in office and then got sued because he held an atheist rally or some thing. its bull shit.

  • @muaythaijunky You are a piece of work aren't you ??? Do you have a brain or do you just say whatever the institutions have programmed into you ???

Learn to think for yourself before you start repeating everything you have just watched on Fox News !!!

  • @OppressedAnarchist institutes programed me? but your the one spewing stereo types on places you have never been and people you have never seen. what institutions are you referring to? fox news? lol again im not republican and i think all the news are biased and take their politics with a grain of salt. i get the actual facts and dont bother with media opinions. you on the other hand are indoctrinated as said prior. you have given me no rebuttal what so ever on any thing. learn to debate.

  • @OppressedAnarchist so how are you oppressed you anarchist you? please tell me. i am finding this so amusing. i love talking to anarchist because they want to over throw government that they know nothing about and never have a plan for afterwords. whats the plan?lol. anarchist will unite? LOLOLOLOL. thats a double standard btw, i dont think you know that. please tell me OPPRESSED one.

  • @OppressedAnarchist also quote me on where any thing i have ever said was said on fox news. dont make claims you cant show evidence for. your just butt hurt because you just got laid out cold in a game of intelligence. say fuck you to me all you want but YOU JUST GOT KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT! your typical routine that you and others try will fail due to it doesn't apply to me and you cant say your republican/democrat therefor your stupid. that's indoctrination crap and hypocrisy on your part.

  • @muaythaijunky I'm not about to join in the weird argument btwn you and the anarchist over... whatever it is... but while this show--probably because of its filter (this station hardly serves as a "fair and balanced" "news" station in any sense of journalistic integrity, no matter your POV)--did a horrid job of letting anyone explain why this protest happened, Texas tax money--which pays that hefty salary of Perry, his assistants, and the TX gov't IT svc used to organize it-paid for most of it.

  • @122172639 ok i see then. that i can agree with then.

  • Rational thinkers only ask is that our leaders start to deal with the serious issues that face our society. A call to prayer is simply a way to escape responsibility for the outcome. If things look up, he gets the credit for rallying people to pray... if it all goes sour, he can then simply say that it was gods will.

It is a win-win move for perry so that no matter what happens in the future, he gets to come out looking good. Typical politician, forget the results, as long I will be okay.

  • Perry is doing a great job... Texas is the Fattest and Dumbest State....

  • @OppressedAnarchist lol you apparently have never been to Texas because youv obviously heard stereo types. trust me iv been north, south east and west and i can tell you most of the stupidest people i have met are in California where they are "progressive" in thinking. instead i just see gangs, drunks, crack heads, and people who dont know shit AKA hoodrats. oppressed anarchist eh? go to Somalia where there's anarchy and find out real oppression. its a real shit hole. i hate anarchists.

  • @muaythaijunky You must be from Texas because in case you didn't know Somalia has a government...Check out TFG on the internet and FUCK OFF you fucking fat republican moron !!!!

  • @OppressedAnarchist you must still be on stereo types and dont have a good education because obviously you didn't realize not all of Somalia is governed. also look up many reports of their pirates. do your home work and actually know what your talking about because you dont. do i need to personal message you and show tons of links? fuck look up anarchy on wiki and it pops up on the list of places lol. this is why i hate anarchists, they dont know any thing and say it for a dead fad.

  • @OppressedAnarchist btw im not republican lol. again with the stereo types. the fact you actually believe all of these stereo types shows how indoctrinated you are. your like a living stereo type and spewing stereo types. the very fact you cant even define my ideology right away is amusing to me and probably frustrating to you. but its the typical thing for simple minds to try to do. also you assume im native to Texas or even living their still. i could be any where from any where lol.

  • @OppressedAnarchist also on your claim that Texas is the fattest and stupidest state. wheres the evidence? dont make claims you cant support. im also not fat btw. im 155 pounds and in good shape. did you even see the name "MUAY THAI JUNKY". it may hint i do some kind of exercise. you need more on the brain good sir. also say fuck off all you want internet tuff guy but you sound like some angry high schooler(or drop out) that thinks the world owes him some thing you poor "oppressed Anarchist" lol

  • @muaythaijunky You actually have a point about stupid people in California, studies have shown that the central valley is among the "dumbest" in the country. The problem is that the central valley of California is staunchly conservative Republican where as the more educated coastal cities are where the "progressives" are.

  • @dan24b look up "santa cruz council" and it shows they get only dumber. the people are just flat out stupid, im sorry but its true. watch the video and be shocked at how they really think and talk. the girl says vegetable trees, she says the east side of the US is like china, and then questions why we have to buy food that farmers grow. the others are just as dumb. only one guy shows signs of intelligence. every one LOOK THIS UP! they are dumb on the coast as well.

  • @dan24b also look at this- /watch?v=4k6pZBEtcCo&feature=relmfu

it only shows more on how much dumber they get on the coast. they are giving bums housing for $6 a month and screwing over people who actually worked. what kind of place is this when the crazy druggy bums get housing for nothing? its a wonder how they are called progressive. it tells people like me who worked hard and dont have much to do nothing and go to santa cruz and get a free ride. again the stupidity of california.

  • @muaythaijunky I don't have a problem with giving "crazy" people a place to live instead of being on the street. Most of the people living on the streets in California coastal cities are actually suffering from mental disorders or they are young healthy runaways/wanderers. I have worked at a shelter in San Francisco where we helped people get off the streets, get on medications and start to regain their lives.

  • @muaythaijunky After seeing a 58 yo woman with mental disease covered in feces, dirt and with severe sunburns on her skin. How could I deny her the chance to get a place to live? Do you remember when Gov. Reagan cut funding to state hospitals and almost literally, over night, the streets were full of "crazy" people. These people have largely been abandoned by society and a lot of them have been living on the streets for decades. So again, how is compassion stupid? how is decency wrong?

  • @dan24b i dont argue there, but there is also an effect on land owners here. im saying this situation has been handled poorly. i was homeless myself for a while. BUT there are some who really dont deserve this opportunity and were lazy druggy's too. again this is why im saying they are dumb, cutting hospital funding? then this? its all poorly done and its not getting any better. like i said look at the city counsel meeting video. do they look capable?

  • i also didnt like her intro to the topic. to say prayer is coming under fire is misleading. the concern wasn't prayer but Mr. perry's lack of competence and his attempt to divert attention from his performance to religion. there was no attack on ppl's rights to pray and organize prayer events. his issue was the political motivation of this particular prayer gathering arranged by a politician as a distraction from his failure do his job well

  • its funny how fox news interviews always have to be wrapped up right around the time that facts and statistics that contradict the conservative narrative are being presented. right as the education and budget statistics begin to come up the interview is cut short. why is this so common in fox news programming. this one was more on the subtle side buts still rather typical of fox news programming.

  • The age old 'It's tradition, thus it's good/should be kept' argument. Yes, because all traditions are are always good and need to be kept...

  • America isn't a christian nation as that is not it's state religion. America has no state religion so people in America who don't believe in God don't have to leave, you intolerant fuckstains

  • that's all this country needs - another texas redneck biblebeater governor

  • A lot of people have imaginary friends (Granted they are mostly children) Perry is a right wing nut who wants to roll out the morality police. Stay in Texas yahoo !!

  • I can almost see the reflection of the prompter in the religious dude's eyes.

  • hilarious when the hard facts about texas come out the cameras go off

  • anyone else go to atheists.org?

  • Prayer is basically sitting around doing fuck all.

  • the guy in the vwhite shirt is a liar

  • Stop saying all this bs.If people want to believe in something let them.I believe in god,but i have friends who believe in buddah,The Shinto religion and some that dont believe in anything.Im fine with that. They let me believe in what i want and i let them.

  • @The Society - Since you're fine with allowing people to believe what they wish ( and I agree) see if they would allow your friends who are Buddhist to call for a day in prayer and assemble ( or any other faiths for that matter).

  • Yes we want a president who would only pray in time of crisis instead of trying to come up with real solutions.

  • Prayer is for fucking idiots! It really is!

  • if you don't like living in a Judeo-Christian nation, there's the border. hit it and don't even think of looking back.

  • @mrtadreamer Ignorant. America is not a christian nation.

"Lighthouses are more useful than churches."

  • @cfhpantera1 Mr Franklin was a fool.

  • @mrtadreamer Thomas Paine, deist. Benjamin Franklin, deist. Thomas Jefferson, Christian, but hostile to the clergy and the Catholic church. James Madison, fierce proponent of the separation of church and state. Recognize these names by any chance? How about the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment, does that mean anything to you?

  • @derangedyoshi maybe head for France if you don't like living in a Jude-Christian nation like America

  • @mrtadreamer I like your logic - why read the comment or think about what it means for my post, when I can just repeat what I said earlier? And btw, I live in Scotland, which from what I gather is a much better place for atheists, liberals, and sane people in general. :)

  • @derangedyoshi your post is worthless

  • @mrtadreamer Oh gosh, thanks for telling me. How do you know?

Unless of course you can't bother your indoctrinated mind into opening half an inch and noticing that you're wrong?

  • fixin thins NOT fixin thinGs

who is the pink faced prayer mongering pundit

  • fixin thins NOT fixin thinGs

  • Good stuff. You want to see someone who is really fighting for our freedom from religion in this country?? Check out Atheist activist and one of the founders of Grand Unified Movement. Check out GREYDON SQUARE

  • @GrandUnifiedTheorist you Americans are crazy the world is full of Atheists and religions. You wont find this bickering anywhere on the planet. a government dude who is religious is holding a rally? you want to force him away from his believes? thats like a christens holding a rally cause a atheist in the government is not christian. The U.S is full of extremes, all of you are ether 100% one way or another. i suggest you travel the world you will find people are more moderate.

  • "Reach out to god to solve America's problems"!! Unbelievable.

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, let's ask fictitional beings for help instead of actually doing anything.

  • hey Justin Bieber is the new messiah/prophet of 2011!!

    youtube(.)com/watch?v=qw5qAjq2wTw

he wins teen choice award and says " keep gawd first!"

" JESUZ LOVES EVERYONE OV YOUUUUU"...

hes gonna turn teens into religious converts! regression! im worried about the power of his message to the teen collective psyche.

should an icon like j bieber spew religious propaganda like this ??

    dont you think?

  • @ScyL0n No,he shouldn't, and the funny thing is he's probably being paid to do it. It's sad that these campaigns are warred just to get people to put unerring faith into the actual idea of the man Jesus, instead of the simple general idea of"BE A GOD DAMN HUMAN BEING ALREADY!".So they sadly deposit this idiotic teaching alongside pop symbols like Bieber, with no one ever having hope to refute any idea of it, especially when the bastards getting an award for his computer vocals in front of a crowd

  • freedom of religon, but if you don't belive in god, you get fired

  • Did the embarrassing public display of superstitious wishing & petitioning your imaginary friend for help change ANYTHING? Did Yahweh or Jesus or Allah or Vishnu or Shiva answer? No? Shocker. "Two hands at work can do more than a thousand hands clasped in prayer." (let alone a sports arena full of hands belonging to soft minded losers) How embarrassing that humans still do this.

  • Fox director: Put evil atheist dark man on the left with a background that hurts the eyes. Put good white Christian man on the right with a spectacular view of the Dallas skyline.

    Problem?

  • +1 to the atheist. -1 to fox and the other guy.

  • Rick Perry advocating a religion is 100% unconstitutional. It upsets me to no end how things like this go by dismissed. If I were president I would flame this sucker to shame.

  • The religious among us claim that their god is all wise, all knowing, all powerful and has a divine plan. If this is so then what is the use of prayer? The God Squad can't have it both ways, either their god knows what he's doing or he doesn't. Isn't it impertinent to imply that they know best and that their almighty god should alter his plans to suit their personal needs when he's already up to his eyes dealing with problems like the world's starving population and religious wars.

  • does anybody know of a athiest country

im trying t move out of the dumbest country in the world as soon as possible

  • Haram Sasser seems to look like a underage fox rapist.

  • Why do the Fox Hosts always choose a side? STAY FAIR AND BALANCED you stupid fucks.

  • War, disease, poverty, famine, drought, climate change, economical collapses, natural disasters, murder, rape and crime. What should the elected leaders do about it? I know, LET'S PRAY AND THEN GO FOR BRUNCH. F**K.

  • Praying is useless.

  • Fox is really good at finding female anchors that you just want to fuck like an animal.

  • Well god is truly fucking everything up. All your praying is not working. We are stuffing the planet, and not evolving at all. Come in god, are you there? No I thought bloody not.

  • Rick Perry is full of SHIT and he's a crappy governor for Texas. This violates the separation of church and state.

  • Oh Dear Atheists. This gives us a bad name. We want the religious to leave us alone but we go on protests? These atheists are wrong on this one. Not that I agree with a Prayer Day. But there's no need to protest. Hypocrisy

  • @mrmybuttisbig

Speak for yourself. I don't want religious people to "leave us alone". I want an open exchange of ideas. Religion has been so successful largely because it's considered taboo to talk about it.

  • @me5o I understand that, and an open exchange of ideas would be ideal. But the point it we complain that religion is always in our faces, why be hypocritical and be up in theirs?

  • @me5o Actually religion has been the focus of the public debate and personal conversation for the last 2,000 years if not inconceivably longer, really only in the recent centuries in the West has religion been pushed out of the minds of people

  • @tommy2toneish yup,Atheism is on the rise, its evolution,it cant be stopped. Its the emancipation of the human conciousness from a state of dogmatic ignorance and error.

  • @PAULOcbi goodluck to your children in a world with 6 billion stalins and maos having unbridled greed and hunger for power...maybe man doesn't need faith to reason properly, just jersey shore and csi (sarcasm), seriously though, do you really think that new york city is more filled with love and respect for neighbor (further evolved morally) than every ancient Christian city in the East or the West? that is bold...maybe you are talking about a different evolution? evolving to what?

  • @tommy2toneish listen its the information age,we are all aware that Ethics are innate,Compassion ,the highest of Ethics is endowed on all parents and off-spring at birth,if you have children you know this. All organized religion ever did was 'underline' the Ethical laws that are already imprinted on our hearts. The wicked will do wicked things and the good will keep on doing good things but if you want good people to do wicked things you need religion.

  • @PAULOcbi yea we have believed that man was endowed with a conscience for the last 3,000 years, religion doesn't underline it for us it takes us a step further. People fall short all the time, that's not fair that because you see a handful of "religious" people doing wicked things, to accuse all of us of being wicked too. We wouldn't deny there is wickedness among all kinds of "religious" people, but that's their fault, ours only as far as we could have done something and didn't

It hasn't been pushed out of the minds, it's been pushed out of conversations. That's changing (slowly) though.

  • @me5o but is that change also an indocrination? of athiesm? There is no public school in the country that allows for intellectual freedom, belief in or doubt of God has shaped every historical event in the history of the world, you can not teach history without mentioning God. true?

  • @tommy2toneish

I have no idea what your point is. All conversation is "indoctrination" to you?

Yes, religion has played a big part and I am by no means suggesting we shouldn't talk about it. In fact, I've been saying the opposite all along. Did you even read my comments?

  • @me5o I apologize not sure why I responded that way, you are right we do need to talk about these things, because we often have misconceptions about why people believe the things they believe and what it actually is that people believe. I've noticed in conversation with my atheist friends they sometimes understand theology according to the people making the news, while I find out it isn't always a matter of ignorance but skepticism which is fairly concluded considering the confusion

    We cool.

  • FOX is full of fucking idiots.

  • @JOHNINCOLUMBUS amen lol

  • Maybe the Texan governor is just using this sort of thing to distract people from the real issues, but I think a better way of arguing against this is by saying that it violates secularism. The problem with urging Christians to come to a prayer day is that it discriminates against everyone who isn't a Christian. The reason we have no religion in politics is so that politicians can represent everyone.
