  • Yes I completely agree with Dmedisciple08.Led Zeppelin just wouldn't be the same without John Bonham at the drums.I saw both Page and Plant in concert at different times in their careers and they had Jason Bonham on drums for both concerts and believe me,as good as they were,it wasn't the same as the great Led Zeppelin.RIP John Bonham.

  • Amazing intro!, first invents My Bloody Valentine and inmediatly jumps back to Gene Pitney. Maybe this song was not a hit because of the MTV video it has.

El intro es increible, se adelanta a My Bloody Valentine e inmediatamente retrocede hasta Gene Pitney. Best Phil Collins work on drums, Robert Plant in unique!, a gifted.

  • para mi esta es una de las mejores rolas del buen robert y creo que hubiera quedado mejor si hubiera hecho dueto con jimmy page. ojala tuvieras el videoclip original y lo bajaras por favor.

  • Phil Collins on drums...

  • In the 80s and it was a racial divide between the Black and White kids. The Black kids would only listen to R&B and the beginnings of rap and the White kids would only listen to rock and the beginnings of metal. I refused to listen to Led Zeppelin. Now as a guy in my early 40s I totally appreciate Led Zeppelin and Robert Plant. They were extremely talented and crossed over to do different genres. If they ever got back together with Jason Bonham on the drums and toured it would be a good thing!

  • Oh man, I respectfully disagree. Led Zeppelin died with Bonzo. Zeppelin was one of those bands, thaty was more than the sum of its parts. It would be a sacrelige for the remaing members to use the Led Zeppelin name. They know that too, thats why they disbanded when Bonham died.

  • Okay, you would be more of an expert on it them me. But as I have gotten older I totally respect their music. I just I realized how good they were wen I was younger.

  • I was just listening to a month long of Zep on my sirius radio. It was a commercial with an interview with Robert Plant. When asked why they broke up after John Bonhams death, he simply said "It took 4 people to make the music of Led Zeppelin and there isn't four anymore". Class

  • Truly. Thanks for sharing that. :)

  • Great answer about a great band.

  • Howard Stern played this on his radio show the other day, great song

  • I seen this him in the 80s on tour with Phil Collins It killed

  • I saw him live in Nottingham Royal Concert Hall in mid-late 80s.

It Bites were the support group.

  • I borrowed the vinyl version from my local library. Recorded it onto audio cassette. Nearly worn my tape out playing it for the past 20 years.

  • I love this song. There's something about the guitar solo in the middle that's just special too. I had the CD but lost it somewhere. I must buy it again....

  • I had it on cassette for many years and I DID wear it out! Had to buy the CD...it's just so good! :)

  • MAN, I use to hear this on the school bus #3 on the way to school. NO WAY I thought plant sang this. For a minute I felt like I was back in Gosport Indiana. But here I am in Great Bend Kansas....

  • wow man thats amazing

  • ummm...plant is the greatest!

but his back up band for this cant compete w/ led zeppelin

  • true that

  • I was 15 yrs old, seen Robert Plant on this Tour... 7th row. Led Zeppelin was, of course, a favorite of mine.

  • Freaking awsome.. I'm 40 and never seen!! your to lucky....: )

  • talent.

  • simply great! hit top 40 charts on 12-24-83 staying on charts for 5 weeks peaking at #39! how great were the 80's if this song only hit #39!

  • Thanks for posting the stats. It amazes me how many great songs hit lower in the charts than I would have expected. Not sure what it did in Australia but it's a great song.

  • Well that'll always be the case in life... "Popularity" is only relative. I've always found myself loving things that haven't been dubbed "popular" by the masses. Maybe I'm just an oddball... or maybe the rest of the world is nuts.

...I'm thinking more the latter. ;)

  • Yeah, me, too! :P

  • needsitwo... holy shit you are wrong, he is the greatest singer alive

  • Roy Orbison? Lmao, Plant destroys Orbison, sorry to inform you.

  • Let´s skip all the b-shit, a great singer, of all times, the best ever

  • <<<<virgin to ZZ top that was in a a hole in the wall in San Francisco in the early 70's with pictures. They were great. We ended up in Texas with ZZ Top being very popular. I love it when people in the US as rating UK groups and cant even rate their own.

  • myfraggle? where are you from?

  • Led Zeppelins sound was never meant to be clean and synergistic... they were the worlds largest garage band, playing in the worlds largest garages. LOL (someone said that)

Jimmy Page was a musical genius in the 60s and the #1 sessions player in Britain prior to heroin addiction in the late 60s and 70s.

  • myfraggle - not only where are you from but..- garage band???!!! Where have you¨ve been since the 70ies -about the drugs - who cares today? The most of them changed their life styles, hey you, the most of them are + 55 today, and probibly changed their life a long time ago

  • The album is a good album. I bought it because of this song. This in my opinion is better than Led Zepplin. At least he doesn't scream on this song. The song reminds me of living in Upland California.

  • Ahahahaha he was kidding LOOL -_-'...You were kidding right??

  • Oh my god! You're mad! No offense, but you and stratdem are stark-raving MAD! lol

  • Gotta say, I agree there! Plant is awesome but Zeppelin as a band was the BEST.

  • I bought it too, and yes, is a good album. But better than Zepp? He screams there because it's a hard rock band, but if Zepp needs they're capable to be soft is tenderly soft. Please listen to them again.

  • i love zeppelin

  • This isn't zeppelin, It's just Robert Plant. But Zeppelin was amazing too

  • when i first bought this record i was aprehensive, i was expecting it to be exactly like zeppelin buy obviously its not. once i got past that it wasn't led zeppelin i really liked it

  • Don't you like Zeppelin?

  • A Happy Birthday today!

  • Robert Plant is still hot but I sure

    miss zepplin

  • Robert Plant is deep -he has the coolest album titles (beyond being a great writer/singer/performer) too!

  • OH YEA BABY im in the mood...love this ..& luv u so much more amer..kisses baby

  • Yea his solo's were as great as Zepplins. Here's another terrific single

    Ship Of Fools Robert Plant

  • You're right...that is a good tune!

  • Damn I forgot how good this song really is. Just a great travelin' song...headed down the road with my girl....

  • Robert Plant is and always was frickin' great.

  • I saw him sing this on the 15th in Cleveland...I'd never heard the song before, and now I'm crazy for it!

  • I'm in the mood for Robert Plant :) I saw him do this on the recent tour a few days ago, in Atlanta. I'm still high from it. I'll NEVER be the same.

  • That's AWESOME, Karen! I wish he'd never gotten older, though. He was so beautiful in his day!! *sigh* They call me the hippy, too...hahaha

  • Don't know of anyone else today who will be as versatile as Plant, most of today 'artists' are performers. Madonna? Barbara? Gay acts are better (and better looking). Poets? Maybe Sting. But Plant is eternal. Love ya, RP~

  • Thanks for posting this great song ann6079, also didn't know Phil Collins played drums on this. Love reading the comments here.

  • He played this w/ Allison Krauss when I saw them in Asheville a few weeks ago. It was great! Best concert I've ever been to, he's still an amazing person on stage, and great voice! I'm tellin you man when you see him on stage its so different its like he moves like hes from out of this world, like an angel or something. Fantastic!

  • I didn't know Phil Collins played drums on this song. That's cool as hell.

  • who is the guitar player on this song

  • Robbie Blunt plays the guitar on this song. :)

  • It's a great riff - instantly recognizable.

  • Miami Vice

  • the ever beautful, ethereal Robert Plant! YUM!

  • EXCELENT, GENIUS

  • Don't know but I'm always in the mood for Plant. Wish he'd write more songs. Hes a Shakesphere for this age of hip hop gangsta neanderthals. All they do is rip off the music of the truly gifted and write a few bullshit rhyming lyrics. God, such talent!!!

  • My wife just said Amen

  • Lead singer for Led Zeppelin. :)

  • Was this song released in 1983?

  • Yes.

  • One of his best solo work, thank you Robert Plant.

  • MTV was born on my BIRTHDAY!!!!!! Unfortunately it went to shit!!!! nowadays I listen to vh1 classic because now that is the mtv I remember!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sucks to be mortal. Even more I suppose with immortal talent...Still, RP older is better than best days of alot of the current 'talent'

all fluff no substance beyond what their sniffing injecting or ingesting.

  • Again, I agree! But RP was sure beautiful in his day! :)

  • FORGOT TERRIFIC HAIR!!! Sorry RP

  • Totally agree! Wish he hadn't gotten older!!

  • So freakin awesome GOD I LOVE PLANT. He is so aweinspirin!! When I think of Rock Star, hes it. Lines and Voice. Plant & Van Halen WHY NOT???

  • Love this song. Everytime I hear this,I think of the breakdancers in the video.

  • Yes, I forgot about "Downtown" Julie Brown. She was great also. I think she was big during the late 80's-early 90's on MTV.

  • PHIL!!! (that's exactly what i love most about you)

  • Still sounds fresh after all these years

  • yes it sure does. That is a great point you made. I LOVE it when I hear this song on one of the classic rock stations..Brings back memories for me..

  • phil collins on drums. love it.

  • love this song!!!

  • i luv this song

    LED ZEPPELIN ROX

  • crank it

  • I love this song. :XD

  • Great atmospheric song.

  • Robert Plant's best song.

  • Yes it does...

There's no limit on time especially for anything or anyone related to legends like Robert Plant.

  • so true

  • well ya of course

  • this song kicks major ass1

  • this song is pretty cool

  • plant kicks butt. what a voice.

  • Rawky.

  • I've always loved this song & have long wanted to have sex to it. Is that TMI?

  • HAHAHA, no it's cool! :)

  • i love this song! it is the best!

    Robert platn is the best

  • i love the riff...

    g.

  • You sir are not the only one who dares to be a nonconformist and have your own musical taste you simply have the intellect to appreciate good music and see through the mass marketing that music is today. I was the exact same way at 16 and have never changed. And besides Robert Plant is a amazing song writer and singer.

  • I just got this album and this and Big Log are the best songs I´ve heard from his solo career. Rap hip hop and techno sound like a pile of sh*t, no feeling in the music at all not like the good old songs. I´m 16 and I hate rap hip hop and techno (maybe I´m the only 16 year old that hates rap and hip hop:) By the way isn´t this his first solo album?

  • Good for you! :) Actually, it's his second solo effort. His first is called Pictures at Eleven and has Burning Down One Side - one incredible tune!

  • check out his album mighty rearanger

  • YES. that is seriously one of the best pieces of works i've ever listened to. his or otherwise. and packard120sedan, i'm the same way. i'm sixteen and i've always loved music genres like classic rock, blues, classical and jazz more than anything else.

  • that's really cool that you are into these generes of music at your age. I am impressed and happy to see this. My dad was a jazz musican in highschool & college so I am into jazz too and I have always loved classic rock, blues and I also love classical too.

  • Nope. This is Plant's second solo album. The first album was called "Pictures at Eleven."

  • i agree with you! =D

  • yes I agree I thinkn this song and Big Log are the best on the album too. Good for you that you aren't into that rap/hip hop and techno stuff..

  • Great song. Soothing voice Robert has..

  • This is a good song but Big Log is Plant's best solo work

  • This song got alot of airplay on MTV, when it really was Music Television and they actually played music instead of all the crap they've got on there now.

  • I hear ya...I used to LOVE MTV. :(

  • yeah it did get a lot of airplay on there. I miss the days of coming home from school and sitting in front of the tv watching MTV with my friends. So longg ago but great memories.

  • No kidding. Glad someone else remembers when MTV actually played music videos. Remember the good ol' days with DJ's like J.J. Jackson, Martha Quinn, Mark Goodman, and so forth. The younger generation who started watching MTV later will never appreciate how great this channel once was.

  • how about downtown Molly Brown? I think that was her name..if not I guess I am in outer space somewhere. lol

  • Close! It was Downtown JULIE Brown! Yes, I totally miss when MTV played vids all the time! Now there are just shows and maybe 1 or 2 hours of videos. :(

  • yeah I miss it too. I can't believe they ruined that channel. I would come home everyday from school in highschool and watch videos all day with my friends. VH1 plays videos still right? I like watching the show Behind the Band or whatever its called on VH1 it tells you all about the band..its interesting to watch..

  • Best song on this album, IMO. Phil's drumming really carries it! Long live RP!!

  • Don't forget about Robbie Blunt's guitar work!

  • i love this thanks

  • you are very special pearson fernando pissarra.

  • awesome song but not as good as thru with the 2 step

  • Does any one know the name last track on this Album - Highway ?something.. Interesting drumming by Phil Collins

  • Hi, it's called Big Log. Great song!

  • Big Log is a sick song. Way unrated and underplayed. Best heard when in the car about 3 am on a roadtrip reflecting life.

  • I think that this is one of the best songs that he has done.

  • Yeah, couldn't fathom that it was left off of Sixty-Six To Timbuktu

  • catchy

  • Woke up at 5 am with this going thru my head....haunting, in a way. Just had to play it!

  • Cool! I love this whole album! :)

  • such a catchy song same thing happened to me at 4rth period, cept i dont think the teacher would like it if i broke out a ipod and listened to it

  • Beautiful sound! And, the music is great!

  • wow gets better every time that i hear it.

  • this song rockd from the first time i heard it.

  • I have this album, and many more, Signed , to me by rob, he brought it to my 16th b'day party ! I was his babysitter at the time!

whadda you think about that THEN?

  • This is and always has been my favorite song from the very first moment I heard it. My husband knows this is the song that I want played at my funeral, hopefully a long time from now. LOL

  • Same here! could'nt say it better!

  • Thanks for not thinking that I'm crazy. :-)

  • I did'nt say that now! LOL... just kidding!

  • I once read an article about singers who were considered to have perfect voices and Robert was on the list. Thanks for posting this!

  • Love this song!

I am also experiencing hermit like symptoms.....

  • This is one of the best if not the best songs Robert plant did durung his solo career. Does anyone know who played guitar on the song? it may be Page but iam not sure.

  • Hey, costamesa, it's Robbie Blunt who plays guitar for this song. :)

  • his name was Robbie blunt,..an english guitarist he played on the 1st 2 albums he has that PERFECt clean strat sound

  • I'm the second viewer, yay! (It pays to subscribe). What else can be said about this living legend that hasn't already been said? Love this and I miss the video "Burning Down Both Sides," which i think is very underrated. One of the world's greatest vocalist!

YouTube is turning me into a hermit. I should sue, ha!
