well, we all no there's never going to be a list that satisfies everyone, but in my opinion this is a good list. I'm happy that someone didn't put tupac as #1, we all know Rakim's the best. You should drop eminem, jay z a few spots down into the teens, and tupac as well, but that's just my opinion
@Richie2k6 I'd definetely have to put Tupac at #1. Then i'd agree that Nas, Rakim, KRS1, and Biggie deserve to be near the top. Jay Z i've never been so fond of, never seemed to be a "true rapper" like the rest are. A lot more "pop-py". Probably throw Method Man and maybe Immortal Technique in there. Not a bad list though. All those rappers are respectable, not like Snoop and Dre and Nelly and BS like that.
No only niggas from the east coast think they have high quality rappers. To me east coast is watered down, they have no good beats and there music is hella boring. West coast is full of real niggas, got good flows and good beats. Jus my opinion tho
@kmbchance Flow is one of the 6 different criteria.. if it was just flow Krayzie Bone and Twista would be at the top and KRS One wouldnt be anywhere to be found. but there's more to it than just that
Well technically, Krayzie or Bone rather, ushered in a style that is used even today. That is the singing with rapping style, the harmony. That's legacy. I just think he gets so disrespected and is actually the most skilled rap artist probably ever. It's ashamed really.
i agree with rakim but dnt ever put jay z before nas again remember wat u were judging it on and make a honest decision cuz nas is 5x the rapper then gay z
Eazy should have been closer to #1, u should have put a better ice cube song, tupac should definatly number 1, jay z shouldent have been third, and biggie is intense.
-Nas ethered Jay so how is Jay #3 -You missed Canibus -Jay isn't better than Pac -Eminem above Slick Rick KRS and Kool G Rap when Big Daddy Kane is above them I don't think so
Other than those 4 little complaints it's a decent list
Good list but I don't recognize some of the faces, I think you should have had a list written with the names of the songs the verses in the description maybe.
1. KOOL G RAP (one of the most admired and revered rappers by other rap artists such as Nas, best flow ever) 2.BIG L(2nd best flow and the best battle rapper and punchline lyricist all time) 3. RA THE RUGGED MAN(even Biggie said he thought RA was the best) 4. Nas 5. Eminem 6. Biggie 7. Andre 3000 8. Redman 9. Big Pun 10. either Ghostface Killah or Method Man plus I know some really underground cats that blow maybe even some of these guys out of the water)
My List is totally Based on Freestyle ability, Hip Hop Swagger & Versatility. The List is more important than the order in my mind. 1 Blast Master KRS 0NE 2 DMX 3 Tupac 4 Biggie Smalls 5 Ghost Face Killah 6 Busta Rhymes 7 Jay Z 8 LL Cool J 9 DMC 10 Rakim 11 Raekwon 12 Eminem 13Common 14 Wyclef 15 Lil Wayne 16 Mystical 17 Raekwon 18 Slick Rick 17 Snoop Dog 18 Nas 19 Dr. Dre 20 lil Kim 21 Peppa 22 MC Lyte 23 Left Eye 24 Foxy Brown 25 Eve
even though I would put Kool G rap 1 cuz he has better a flow than Nas and influenced Nas' mafioso gangsta style, you definitely have the best list out of all these clowns cuz you actually know shit about lyricism it seems based on your list... big ups bruhh
1. 2Pac 2. The Notorious B.I.G 3. Nas 4. Big Pun 5. Big L 6. Eazy-E 7. Eminem 8. Immortal Technique 9. Rakim 10. KRS-One 11. Ice Cube 12. Common 13. Mos Def 14. Guru 15. AZ 16. Snoop Dogg 17. Method Man 18. Redman 19. Scarface 20. Dr. Dre 21. DMX 22. Krayzie Bone 23. Bizzy Bone 24. LL Cool J 25. Big Daddy Kane my list.......
@RealRapMusic101 Haha 2pac over Big L and where is Kool G rap lol he influenced Nas like Jay Z copied Biggie and nas copied Kool G rap so you cant have Nas over G Rap when G rap has a better flow if you dont think so check out "executioner style" from G rap's "4,5,6" album... And Big L has better flow and better punchlines and metaphors than tupac so idk man lol you definitely dont do much listening to lyrics if this is your list... and i understand its just your opinion but still... C'mon
Hey richie, do you think the current state of Hip hop can possibly prevent some really talented to rappers to get the mainstream appeal to be a great. Because everyone here at one point was very popular at least in the hip hop community. But with things the way they are now, I sometimes wonder if guys like Jay Electronica or Blu who have very little exposure can ever be considered "great" because they'll never get the opprotunity someone like Gucci Man gets.
@UnlimitedProdiction1 definitely, the media only shows basic "hip hop" on TV, the best rappers are underground and not being heard because their music won't sell like gucci mane's. the media is killing hip hop, absolutely
