Now THIS is a remix! Not like that crap ypu hear on the radio with just like 2 other black guys added to the original song, with more lines about money and clubbing and some little scratches and different bas track.
God why couldn't radio stations here in Texas play amazing music like this!? T_T
Not sure where you are from philsnk, but I'm watching this in the U.S., where we have this whole freedom of speech thing going on. To clarify feel free to google Maplethorpe and bullwhip together. That horrific image that popped up? That is defended as art, and rightly so if more than one person terms it so and it doesn't exploit a minor. Anything else, especially religion, is fair game. Good band, good song, beautifully executed video. It's definitely an art.
Kabuki is an artform solely Japanese. It is on a level that I would classify as almost religious. To mix that into a hip hop music video is crooked to begin with.
@philsnk I get what you're saying. But the artist of the song are japanese as well as the men in the Noh mask. Including the producers, crew of the music video and any japanese websites or television stations that aired it. So they obviously don't have a problem with it. And the people in the video look pretty proffesional. Like real Kabuki performers. They didn't have any objection to this so... I dunno. Maybe i got defensive because this is my favorite band. Hehe. Sorry
@philsnk that doesnt seem to be illegal, cause back then i went to the bunkasai at kyoutou, well my bestfriend lives there, and people doing the kabuki was using hip hop as their music.
@philsnk well this song is originally by a Japanese band . and to class this as hop hop shows you have no sense or knowledge of music genres. just saying
when he was dancing was he being rewind? LOL excuse my grammer, but it looks like it. LOL XDD I think its cool too, but I perfer the original. Sorry for people who like this one.
i think the original is better than american bands come up with. i don't really know my basis on that but it reminds me of a lot of japanese bands. and very very very few (if any) american bands
I would say the same thing, except the other way around. It reminds me of WAY too many American bands. But I've never heard the gamut of Japanese bands, so I could be wrong. I think the original sounds too derivative for my tastes, plus I am a BIG Boom Boom Satellites fan. I almost peed my pants when I heard them in the Dark Knight last summer.
The club scene when he tracks down Maroni. "Scatterin Monkey" was the first one, and I can't remember which was the second one, but it was played when he dropped Maroni from the building to the street.
Boom Boom Satellites kick ass. Anyway, I to some degree agree. The style of the original is very much like many American bands. Since im not much of a emo/hardcore person (or whatever you would have it called) I rather like the sound coming from a non American band with a slight Japanese twist (whether that be the accents or style).
Now THIS is a remix! Not like that crap ypu hear on the radio with just like 2 other black guys added to the original song, with more lines about money and clubbing and some little scratches and different bas track.

I prefer this video edit to the full remix released on the album, the heavy part comes in sooner and I think it gives it more energy.

I kind of prefer the remix, but only cause I'm a BIG fan of the Satellites.
And I'll probably get chewed out for this, but the original sounds like any dime a dozen band out in America right now. I didn't really get into it.
