She's my favorite Teknoman/Tekkaman... She deserved to live! Shara/Miyuki is so nice and sweet, and cute too... Blade is lucky to have a adorable younger sister like Rapier. When I see this scene I cry a lot seeing her being killed by Evil, Axe, Lance and the other girl, Sword... If Blade would arrive a bit earlier, she would be alive...

There is a lesser edited dub that was aired outside of the states. It has nudity as well as as blood and gore. However its still only 43 episodes opposed to the Japanese 49. But on the bright side the complete set was 13$ at best buy and its so nostalgic. Its currently what they sell under TEKNOMAN, so if your one of those kids who never got to finish it do yourself a favor and get it. The only changes in voices are to ringo slade and gunner, but they are very similar, all the others are in tact
When I saw the Japanese version from the butchered American version, I was surprised how much Tekkaman Rapier was slashed...she was practically martyred!! That's why I so much prefer the Japanese uncut version of Tekkaman Blade...I love this series all the way to the end.
The most touching episode of the series. It shows how much there sibling love between Miyuki and Takaya. Both were ready to sacrifice for each other. Miyuki protected Takaya and his friends in a best possible way.
I loved this as a kid, still one of the best series I've seen! I think this is one of the saddest scenes from the entire series.
I first sow the european cut... and this was definetly in it. I seem to remember my mom and some parents of my friends making a big commotion out of this episode... I didn't care back.

This is definitely one of the most heart-rending moments in Tekkaman Blade. She knew she was dying anyways, and she chose to use the last moments of her life to defend what she loved the most. Miyuki giving up her life for her dear older brother; and all this while she is the only real family Takaya has left at that point. But the suffering she had to go through for it was just wrong.... *sob*
i never saw that before when i was little they cut up to he crash into the ground and showed the suicide the show was the canceled for a couple of weeks and the it came right back but i did not see the last episodes until 2000 it was well worth the wait even if it was dubbed.
Seriously? I saw this as a Teknoman episode back in 1995, and I don't think many kids could have taken the torture scene very well. They took out only what was reasonable to edit out for Sunday mornings. Nowadays, they would've definitely left that in, but back then? You're lucky they left her death in. Sailor Moon and DBZ chickened out on that, pathetically enough -- I bring up those shows because whenever you wanna think of bad dubs, Teknoman comes out as one of the better ones of the '90s.
Sailor Moon couldn't even be bothered to let the Sailor Soldiers die in the final two episodes (which they meshed into one, BTW), and DBZ had the "I'll send you to the next dimension" BS -- just awful. This show had a mostly Robotech-hardcore dark vibe to it, and the fact that most of the cast and crew HAD worked on Robotech a decade before certainly helps.. But..yeah :/
Pity to hear that they left it out in the US (it seems that the producers were still under the ridiculous illusion that these shows are for kids... pathetic indeed). I think there's still a fair amount of that illusion going around, but that's on the viewers' end: primarily due to the lack of vigilance on the parents' part.
Keep in mind, this was targeted towards kids in Japan, which is why it was brought over to the children market in the United States. The only reason Japanese has scenes like this, is mainly because they have a higher level of tolerance for content on their television. Mind you, today, some stuff aired Pre-Evangelion wouldn't fly on Japanese TV now, but they are still lenient on alot of things in Children market.
Even had the producers stated that the series was not targetted towards children, this isn't true. The TV series was most certainly targetted towards Children and the Family demographic in mind. There is childish humor mixed in with the seriousness, which most anime tend to have on a regular basis. Regardless, you have to keep in mind it was also in the same timeslot(though maybe not the same day)that shows like Batman and Tiny Toons Adventure ran in Japan.
I have seen the series, and there are alot of mature themes in the series, but the basic element is generally the same that most children in Japan could comprehend, even the more complicated themes of the series. It's like saying most of the Gundam shows could not be comprehended by children, even though they are targetted towards them. (Infact, some of the Gundam shows have worse content that what was shown in Tekkaman Blade). So unless you can back-up your proof, don't say that it isn't.
Oh yes but what credible sources do you have? Just rewatching the series, there really is no humor as you claim as there is. As I stated have you been to Japan? Probably not, I have and this show is widely well regarded up there and it was not aired at the childrens time. Have you actually seen anime targeted towards children? The Japanese Wiki (which, is very strict on information that is added to it), has a list of shows that premiered in a timeslot (or reaired), and Tekkaman Blade is listed to airing at 6:30PM, which is a timeslot which most children and family watch. The series does have childish humor (for example, Levi, is comedy relief that most children would find amusing).
I may not live in Japan, but I have talked with people and parents who live in Japan. Their view on what is suitable for children is much greatly different than what most parents here would think of here. They also regards to alot of programming of anime on TV, saying it is meant for children.
The Japanese Wiki has a strict policy that you must provide a source whenever you enter information. Infact, you can't even add anything unless your a signed up member there, unlike our wiki, which is open to anyone to use. To be honest, I wish our wiki had impliment a system like this, but that's not the point at the moment. Also, regarding "homosexualality" as children humor, the best example I could give to support my statement is Hard Gay. He's actually popular with the children.
I should also note that, when you look at shows like Naruto and Pokemon, both have different content, Naruto being much more violent than Pokemon. Originally, Pokemon aired right after Naruto, but both shows were swapped around. Sometimes Naruto doesn't air because of Pokemon's one hour premieres. Regardless, both air in the same timeslot range, despite content. If you tell me that Naruto is aimed for older viewers, then you completely lost your creditbility.

In 1997 a girl called lauren was walikng in a forest and then a she just dissapeared no one ever found her untill 2000 when a yoing girl called Mary found her body and markings on her chest saying: I wasnt pretty enough" and now you have read this she will appear in your mirror saying your not pretty enough and kill you. by the way the girl called mary died shortly after.

Actually, UPN played 1 more episode following this and then after that did reruns for maybe a month before they took the show off the air... i think they ran a total of 25 episodes in the states... Ive also heard that europe and australia got the completed series.
They probably canceled it because she got (basically) crucified, and commited suicide in the span of 30 seconds. That was the last episode I ever saw as a kid, I was cruched when they canceled it.

hey guys just wanted to let you know that this song is in fact called "energy of love". i have the entire series all 49 episodes in their original japanese format with english subs on dvd...at the end of each episode "energy of love" plays and is actually highlighted as the song at the end credits.. the ending theme changes somewhere around episode 30. just thought i would clarify on that =) i consider myself a huge tekkaman fan =P
