  • Thats weird 400 calories? when i do his exercises I burn anywhere from 1000 - 1400 calories a workout...makes me wonder if that is indeed accurate, considering i feel like halfway through i am starting to half ass cause of the fatigue factor. (use the heart monitor strap with watch)

    There's no way 450 can be right. I mean you can run on a treadmill at like 7.5 mph for 45 minutes and burn well over 500 cals.

  • @painlessreturns That;s actually a good idea, if you work out (especially cardio) in warm temperatures, you burn much more calories.

  • @Fez4781 yes, if you go to teambeachbody (dot) com there are a lot of people that do both and the same time, some alternate like you say, some do one in the morning and one at night - those are the truely insane!!!

  • @SumDuud Its funny ive been doing both of the workouts at the same time the last 3 weeks. all i can say is im in pain but lovin the results highly recommended to anyone that loves the programs and has nothing better to do like myself

  • @Fez4781 Nice! I just started Insanity (on day 2) and it is kicking my fat ass. I could see after completing it trying to expand, but not sure where I'd find the time. I bet it does feel great after you've had a little receovery time. :) Good luck to you!

  • @SumDuud You cant be that fat i mean i was huge before i started insanity the results are amazing im still in the obese weight acording to BMI but i check my fat and im at 10% before i was 16% it speaks for itself commit to it and it will work for you. Would you mind being my workout buddy haha like a competition?

  • @Fez4781 I'm 6'1" 270 lbs. I've got a big frame in general (in high school wrestled at 170lbs with 6% body fat) but I'm much fatter now. :) As for workout bit, I'm game, if you are on the teambeachbody(dot)com site I am SumDuud there, look me up. Some decent forums over there with all kinds of workouts going on.

  • @SumDuud Well since you know my body fat all thats left is i am 5'5" 180 lbs. And my team beachbody is the same as my youtube so it should be easy to know who it is i am too shy to post up a picture until i get where it is that i want to be at. I will join you on day 3 of your Insanity challenge let us show the people of the world that this really does work and its worth spending money on.

  • My cousin and I, completed day 6 of insanity... I checked out your other insanity workouts and you have come a long wAy, your pushups are much better! You are a lot quicker and you resistance is amazing... You hAve truly motivated me to stick to this program and complete it!!! It can be very difficult at times but to hear and see you do the workouts, I know my cousin and I will be successful! Thank you! So much! ; )

  • Keep up the great work! I'm just finished day 37 of Insanity. Month two is waaay harder. It makes month one look like a walk in the park. I nearly vomited yesterday during the Max Interval Circuit. Thanks for posting your vids. They inspire.

  • Oh wow. You were really landing hard on some of those workouts. Remember to land softly. Make sure you're getting in those extra vitamins like vitamin C to synthesize those damaged collagen fibers, calcium for help maintaining bone health w/ vitamin D to aid in calcium absorption, and lastly vitamin E/omega 3 (plenty in fish) and vitamin B that helps reduce joint inflammation and causes cells to produce more anti-inflammatory substances. I'm an exercise science major.

  • @steverunsxc Thanks Steve for the tips. I don't know that I land that hard or if it is that mat (I don't use this one anymore, I use about 1/2" thick foam now), the one in the video is harder plastic on the surface to last longer, so it's louder even when you're jogging in place. Anyway, I'm definitly adding Omega-3 to my diet as well as potassium calcium and magnesium..

  • @eurcynia Yeah! Amazing workout! But...I have to agree with Steve. AMAZING WORKOUT though, so great job.

    BUT, be careful on your body. Be cognizant as you are working out, that it's still your body and can be torn, broken, etc. So, your body weight on your landings, be careful. Don't be too hard on your body, or later in life you will regret it. Each hard blow adds up. Even though insanity is going a little high speed, you may want to slow it up for you. Some of them will regret it later.

  • @steverunsxc listen to this guy. he knows what he's talking about. also, yes PLEASE be careful with your knees. you're landing so so hard on some of the exercises. Land softly, go ALL the way down..even if it means you have to do it slower. it will be more effective anyway.

  • @tamaralouu There is actually a dvd that specifically shows you the proper form for the main moves. You watch it first before anything else :)

Hey, I had a mess up with Insanity, and accidently ordered the Deluxe, so I returned it this morning! :( Anyways, I have to wait seven days for the refund, and then I purchase Insanity! Is it worth the wait? Because I know you have to start your round on a Monday. Ugh.

  • @tamaralouu You don't have to start the round on a Monday, you can start it any day you want! The 7th day is your rest day, so many people like to start on Monday so Sunday is their rest day. I've had others start on Saturday or Sunday for different rest days!

  • @eurcynia I don't understand what you mean, because that would be confusing? Since Insanity's calender has you start on a Monday.

  • @pinkstrawberrycake Why not? It doesn't make me breakout or cause premature aging. My skin actually looks pretty good because I take care of it in the mornings and before I go to bed. I live in a place that gets to over 100 degrees and people still wear their makeup, it doesn't make a difference :)

  • im glad im not the only one with a hurt knee. it doesnt hurt muc when i do the exercise but more when i sit or lay and then get up i feel the pain in my knee. i ice it after i work out and i think im going to get an elastic knee brace. what do you think?

  • @javlyz Hey! I was out of town when you commented so I'm sorry I missed this. Are you doing Insanity? I had to STOP because I could not handle the jumps and didn't feel I could completely modify till after my knee heals. I have padded my floors with rubber mats & I wear proper shoes (I hava flat feet so they are low/no arch). I take a joint supplement called Glucosamine w/Chondroitin and I do not jump. Let me know what you do! Take care of those knees, don't want knee problems when you're older!

  • @eurcynia i have also been taking glucosamine vitamins and have actually got an elastic knee brace. i've tried to land softer on my jumps.... it still bothers me but not as much. i do ice my knee afterwards just to make sure. i think it bothers me most when going down or up stairs. thanks for replying and i am now on month two insanity. sorry you had to stop and hope your knee heals.

  • @javlyz we have the same problem.it's chondromalacia.dont workout at all forget the bullshit the doctors say that u need to do little exercises to help ur knee,rest the knee as much as possible.i think the reason i hurt my knee was because i landed a few times with my heel and that put a lot of stress in the knees,the other reason maybe is cuz i was doing insanity barefoot lol.dont workout ur legs rest them

  • this might sound crazy, but....

    if you're familiar with acupuncture, the knee is all about the gall bladder meridian.

    even if there is a bio-mechanical injury to the knee, the body's energy is still very much bound up in the function of the gall-bladder meridian.

    give yourself liver massages, full abdominal massages, and work the gall bladder and liver points between the toes on the feet.

    (look em up if you're interested or still in pain)

  • im gunna suggest learning how to land more softly when you jump, like, land on your toes, and try to make the landing more quiet, you wont hurt yourself that way, i used to do what you did and i sprained both my ankles eventually.

  • I was too! But it is REALLY fun! And a tip - Month two workouts are about 60 minutes, and Monday also has the Fit Test, so do the Fit Test on Sunday!

  • @Angeem73 - Insanity is on pause for about 30 more days and I think I will start all over. I overextended my knee and by the end of the first week of month 2 i couldn't bend it back. It SUCKED. Saw an orthopedic doc yesterday and he confirmed to stay off high impact to the knees and take an anti inflamatory (meloxicam) for 30 days. Planning to start P90X Monday with modified workouts to consider knees.

  • @eurcynia Can you mix insanity and p90x? I've been trying to figure out which one to purchase. Insanity is great I hear for weight loss but I'm more into the strength training aspect of p90x. I just don't want to lose a lot of muscle mass. But I was wondering about what made you decide to blend them?

  • @Kslater23 You can create a hybrid with the two programs by replacing the cardio in P90X with INSANITY. So instead of Kenpo X or Plyometrics, you can use Insanity's workouts instead. I am a Beachbody coach, so I do sell these programs if you're interested in one or the other! Some people have reported losing mass doing INSANITY -BUT- there is strength training where you use your own weight. So they're great to alternate or follow a hybrid workout schedule for. Good luck!

  • @eurcynia good call! you know i'm on my recovery week for insanity right now and have been skimming the cardio exercises in p90x. based on impression alone, the p90x cardio workouts seem like child's play in comparison but i'll try to reserve judgment since i haven't tried them. when i'm done with insanity, i think i'll do the hybrid you speak of.

  • Please keep these up! I am scared and excited to start hopefully next week, since I've not really been working out other than a weekly pole fitness class I have been doing a DVD from around the house daily to get in the habit and hopefully a little more ready!

  • Best of luck! Just remember that day 4 for me was my epiphany moment -- hehe. Since then, even when the workouts are REALLY hard -- remember it is almost over and you'll feel GREAT when you've held on through. It's an achievement!

  • so, how are you feeling over all? I know I don't see results physically, but feeling the results and the added mental clarity is AWEsome

  • Yes, the changes haven't been significant though when I measured before Recovery Week I had lost 5.5" total with no gains in any areas, so that is good :) Definitely feeling strength! I expect the most changes in the final weeks.

  • Today is my second day doing insanity and I can barely walk lol it takes me a good half hour to feel "okay" lol omg this really pushes your body! Its GREAT but painful!! You look wonderful and you make it look easy!! You are in better shape then me by far!! Keep it up!!
