  • *lobbyists*.. so out of whack is our system...and it could have been prevented if they spent a 1/2 million on a containment rig as Europeans do....

  • @LizBizToo I suspect we shall see some significant regulatory legislation down the road... hopefully it will be sensical...

  • We all do... Even coffee is going up from this... COFFEE! I need my coffee... And the fishing there - man they will be hit the worst :( Such a bad thing. I so hope this is solved soon.

  • @AxeMoose Aye Compadre without doubt... Time will tell...

  • @billyCtv I have been reading lots about the folk there and what they face...

  • Please for the sake of your lives do not get distracted by this show of 'oh no we accidently spilled some oil'. Start by atleast asking the right questions like; What is the value of the oil spilled, and why won't they disclose that? (they've disclosed pretty much every other bit of financial detail with this), There must be plans in place for this sort of thing happening? Why haven't they been disclosed? If there isn't a protocol, why not?

  • @MegaAJay2010 This video focuses on the recent rhetoric... Other vids address the specific energy issues... Thanks for watching...

  • @PappyStu thank you for replying, I understand completely. Sorry for trying to show you the truth. i don't care that the only people that pay are people like us all over the world, not earning millions a year. I don't care about money, for a man to think that he either has to be crazy or has a very good understanding of whats really going on.

  • I don't think Exxon ever finished paying for their spill back forever. This is a mess, pardon the pun. The shame is BP is one of the few companies that procure indigenous oil. So the offshore drilling thing must be in shambles now. You'd think after using petroleum for all these years, we'd have figured out how to contain it. Good video...sad topic. Cut the cord, people!

  • @BigLoveZone Like all addictions, cures are painful...

  • We need common sense solutions but the longer I live the more I notice that sense has been increasingly uncommon for quite a long time now...

  • @phekwig My optimism is strained at best shall we say...

  • You are right we will all pay, and I agree we need common sense!

  • @jtls8 Something in short supply...

  • We really need to do like brazil and go ethenol they do sugar cane but not like we did with corn though i'm sure the chemist that work for the big oil knew it's one of the least worthy choices for it but, we could do sugar beats, hemp, kenaf,so so many fuels that we don't have to shoot ppl for and we don't have to kill mother nature when they get out of hand.

  • @bearchay889 Ethenol has its' draw backs too for us because our climate requires corn or saw grass type productions which require 1.5 times more btu fossil fuel (coal etc) to produce than is contained in the fuel resulting in a 50% loss...

  • @PappyStu It's not a fullproof soultion but it could still help us cut back on what is imported along with conservation and all that good stuff but the only way that we will do any of that is when there is no other option which to choose from which the goverment and the fuel compaines want so they can keep control of the energy.

  • @bearchay889 ps it is bad juju for my outboards as well LOL

  • @PappyStu Well we gotta keep some regular petrol around fer such things.

  • All very true, Pappy. Lots of other countries are going to sell oil to us for a long time to come. It really is a great example of chaos theory. The unforseen ripples of damage will resonate for many more years to come. The "payment" will be long lasting.

  • @battlebauble Depending on not so friendly folk for our energy is dumb for sure..

  • Very true. In the end it's us who pays.

But hey! How bout I throw you a cold coors light and we kick back a bit.

It will all work out in the end. ;-)

  • @wildwyckedknight And a fishing rod please...

  • Oil spill - who pays? We all do.... and for generations to come.... =-(

  • @longhairred Enevitably... sp?

  • Yep. Whether it's directly or indirectly, every bill and invoice in the country crosses my desk sooner or later.

  • @kenrg I'll send you mine....

  • We are having one disaster after another it seems. BP will will be paying a lot of money,

more than Exxon had to pay and it did cost Exxon a lot of money , almost $4 billion

even years later they had to pay punative damages. You are right, we all pay in some way or another for these kind of things. I just heard BP say the oil is theirs but the rig

was run my Transocean and their people!

  • @justwant2bhappy The lawyer feast has yet to begin....

  • You have a point and most folks don't take the necessary steps to help reduce our addiction to oil. Buy less stuff, buy organic, buy locally grown, buy things that have less packaging. Stop buying plastic. Stop eating take out. Do you really need that thing made in China? We need to find SAFE sustainable methods to run our computers and tvs and such. We need to continue to improve the mileage of our cars and consolidate trips, get rid of disposables and think about things better. Cont....

  • @thizizliz I made an energy specific video a few minutes ago but won't uploaded it till tomorrow because double loads turn my Subs off... LOL

  • @thizizliz Given what has happened recently with coal & oil, we have no reason to trust that quality control will remain in effect in lieu of greater profit for nuclear power either. Let's face it, corporations today don't care who dies. Its all about the profit and there are no eithics in business anymore. Now that they have been elevated by the courts, there is little hope that things will improve. I don't believe that there is such a thing as common sense and good sense diminishing rapidly.

  • @thizizliz I tend to not have faith in our path as well... But Either we keep trying or go drink... LOL

  • @PappyStu Well we best keep trying then - cuz I suck at drinking these days....

  • @thizizliz Conservation on an individual basis is a big answer but we must move to new techs to solve the problem entirely...

  • Again...scary times.... I think we need more petal power. Imagine all the new jobs opening up to petal freighters and trucks ;-)

  • @hallbe I am producing a video about our energy needs... But I will not upload until tomorrow...

  • It's a mess! We NEED to get away from oil forever! I'm just not so sure nuclear power is the way to go either! What do we do with the deadly waste?? And yep...we all will pay and pay and pay...we always do...:-(

  • @GreatGig1 If I do a vlog on it I will go into the newer Techs to deal with that...

There actually are good answers that the public doesn't hear about...

The politics on energy have been more politics than facts... Sad considering the overall ramifications of energy in our lives...

  • I pay, you pay, we all pay. Another insightful installment

from the life of PappyStu. I'll be thinking about how almost

all the products I use throughout the day are linked to our

    dependence on oil.

  • @robertpina99 In reality ALMOST everything in one way or another... Thanks Robert...

  • another notch tightened up on the noose on the american neck.aint life grand,

  • @truckingsonofagun Our enconomy is tied right to energy issues... I was thinking about a vlog about Nuclear Energy in the near future having spent a couple decades there in the past...

  • All funds TO CLEANUP are provided by the SuperFund. Responsible parties (BP) will have to put the money back into the Superfund. Anything else will come from taxpayers at first. If the liability gets high enough I wouldn't put out the possibility that large chunks of BP could be nationalized. People are saying millions, billions of dollars, but I think BP liability is going to cost TRILLIONS in the long run.

  • @JizzonTheDark I agree... And that money doen't appear from the out of the blue... In reality it is the citizens who pay for everything indirectly... Either in Taxes or Buying Gas or buying plastic products and the myrid of other petroleum based products or the passed on transportation of every single thing we use... The end user pays for all the costs in the end...

  • @JizzonTheDark

Worse yet we will all "pay" or suffer the long term physical impacts to environment and entire ways of life for those whos' lives will be irrevocally changed...

  • Hopefully BP will pay.. at gunpoint if need be.. but yes, I know what you mean, it is all affecting so many people, and the wildlife.. all because of the oil! That's why we need wind power.. and the odd dam generating power too! :)

  • @BasicModelling Actually I think it is a fantasy when folks say "BP will pay"... Where does BP get it's money?

    You and Me...

    Oh and a few others...

  • @PappyStu ..and no doubt they'l put the price of the fuel up, as not to affect their profit.. :P

  • @BasicModelling My point exactly... And the others will follow suit BECAUSE they can...

  • @PappyStu Yup.. but you have to be careful now, or you'll end up sounding like an old anticapitalist.. like me.. :) :) Ha ha ha ha ha..

  • @BasicModelling Oh no even... We can be capitalists without crapping all over ourselves LOL

  • @PappyStu True.. not all capitalists are greedy either.. some actually do good with their money.. :)

  • @BasicModelling I believe in capitalism but not stereotyping individuals as capitalists as a way to define them... Each stands on his or her merits based on actions...

  • @PappyStu Very true.. trouble is, it's people that stands out, like the greedy bankers that comes to mind first and foremost.. but they make perfect capitalist stereotypes of themselves, making sure not to break the trend by actually refusing bonuses and payouts.. which they should and could do! That money should be paid out in interest to the rest of us.. not that I have any capital to gain any interest on.. heaven forbid.. :)

  • @BasicModelling Humans by nature are opportunistic... As are many species... VBG

  • @PappyStu Indeed so.. which is why TRUE socialism and / or communism never worked or ever will work.. and we end up with the sad excuses we have seen through history, in Russia and 'a few other places'..
