@thakur1144 The RX-7 isn't either. No car is "Made" for the "Touge". To my understanding both cars were built for sports driving while being inspired by race cars. BTW I can't speak too much on owning or even driving an R-34 for that matter, but I do have an FD and it's awesome. Also the FD can shit on just as many cars as the GT-R can at the track. Just throw a LS3 in there and you've got an amazing beast.

@JEFFKISTHENAME By saying not made for touge means that the GTR is heavy. I also love the FD but the R34-GTR is in a league of its own technologicaly. I am sure you would know this because you own an FD that swapping the engine with anything other than a rotary would totally destroy the perfect weight balance. I am not here to argue or anything but the GTR is called GODZILLA or The beast from the east for nothing. even in the video you can see them comparing a stock V-spec nur with a mmodifiedFD

@thakur1144 I understand where you are coming from. I love the GTR also, but it actually is a pretty fast Touge car. It's fast in general. Even the R35 is fast on the Touge with it's elephant like size. You really should watch the videos on Kobayashi's R34. That GTR is mean. Just to inform you though, swapping in the Chevy LS series motor WILL NOT throw off the 50/50 balance. If it did, it wouldn't be something you'd notice anyway. You really need to check out norotors.com

I would like to say something. Buying a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Veyron or anything else it doesnt make you a better person or driver. The GTR is a mean machine which came out of the streets. Its a streetracing machine and not an Exotic. So please do not Compare the GTR with exotic cars. Its something different which you are not allowed to talk about. ;)

cost efficient? ill take an Ariel Atom 3 over a GTR, if its speed and cheap you cant beat an atom for the price. yeah it's cheap to buy initially, but as some people have seen, it's not exactly cheap to own, with numerous drivers destroying transmissions (at 9k apiece) using launch control(which wasn't covered by the warranty) , and engine rebuilds are going to be a fortune in the future. plasma lined cylinder walls? that's not going to be some cheap fix.

if you think you can impress me by throwing out some other thrilling car like the atom at the situation your not going to, the atom is basically a kit car built for you. it belongs on tracks, not a road car in the slightest- yes it's road legal, I've driven one. But it is most definitely not a car for road use. You cannot even compare it to the GTR as you cannot compare a f430 to it either.

You mean the Veyron^^ and there are lots of other cars that can best the gtr. Like the Porsche 911 Turbo, GT3, GT2, Lambo. Gallardo, Ferrari 456 Italiano and many more. The only good point about the gtr is that it`s cheap and has the potential to annoy the afore mentioned cars, but that`s all.

as far as I know, the gtr lost against the turbo on the Nürburgring. That was a sprint duel. The turbo was way faster than the gtr from 180 km/h onwards. So what if he can beat the lap times of these cars. On the highway it`ll lose and here in Germany you can drive as fast as you want.

Its easy to make something that goes fast in straight lines. The GTR is cheap too. U can mod it and spen the same amount on it instead of getting a turbo and it'l win. Its a supercar for the poor people. And the gtr got 7.26.7

they are just fanboys, granted the GTR was a very competitive car, but the FD RX7 was the best 90's japanese car, with maybe the subaru v1-v6 stis' evo 6.5 as competitors. The supra is just a dynoqueen, all of the above are more respected than it.

Because its heavy, thats why. Doesnt matter how much power a car has, if it eats up its tires fast it wont last long. A Skyline weighs 3600lbs and an RX-7 weighs 2800lbs. And Skylines in stock form aren't that powerful. The Nur had 276hp while the RX7 had 265. Only advantage in most of that race for the Skyline was 4WD and that didn't last long enough since its weight killed the tires.
