I lived off of Lafayette Street near Great America for a few years. Approaches from the north were pretty unusual. Normally planes only came in from that direction if it was raining or about to rain. I used to hear one plane after another take off over my house. I miss it!

its wierd San Jose is not really known as a big city in the US but im pretty sure its the 10th most populated and in the top ten in air cuality, cleanlyness and it has one of the lowest crime rates in cities over 200,000
