Only USAF craft that would be real comparasion to MiG-29 is FA-18 Hornet....
F-16 has no chance in dog fight with MiG 29, only in long range missale attack some chances...
MiG29 is way to agile for f16....most simple example of that fact is MiGs average rate of climb... in adition to that is this aircrafts ability for short turns...that F16 does not have.
The mig29 can only match some oldef F4Ds which BTW have much better service records. One F16 can easily take out 4-5 mig29s in a single sortie. The F15E variants can take out 10 at once.

@radiohrv You are right MiG29 is better then F16 in any aspect. SU30 had 90% kill ration against F15, meaning that IAF had 50-0 score against USA in exercise. USA is good at shooting down unmaintained and old aircraft, when they have at least 5-1 odds if they have less they will not engage. If they went ahaid and engaged Russian MiG or Sukhoi they wouldn't last very long.
No,actually the F-16 is much better than the mig 29 due to excellent manufacturing quality,system integration,logistics and support infrastructure. The mig29 is only better maneuverable at very low speeds where induced drag is also very high.
The Mig 29 is inferior to a properly maintained F4E. It was designed for point defence against low speed bombers and thus limited in performance in the same way as the former F104. Even with R77 or KS172, the Mig29 has no chance. The air superiority fighter is the Su27,not Mig29.Besides, most Mig29s are now grounded due to fuselage corrosion which the F4 never suffered from.
MiG-29s weren't bad jets,they just needed modernization,because on some of them,the radar didn't worked,and there were many NATO planes sent to Serbia (over 1000!) So MiGs were overwhelmed...At least we had good AA defences and tactics =)

A total of 6 MiG-29s were shot down of which 4 MiG-29s were shot down by USAF F-15C, 1 by USAF F-16CJ or friendly fire, and one by Dutch F-16AM.
