Wow... these comments about the Hemi getting 21 mpg hwy are such BS. My friend was being honest and told me his Hemi 6-speed gets 16 hwy 12 city, and 1 overall average. And I honestly get 14.5 city 17.5 highway with my 4.6 f150
@SiccSideKali4Nia209 post a video, easy to talk about it without any proof. Want to know how many dodges come into my shop for engine problems? A SHIT LOAD! a bunch of fords for random stuff like fuel pumps and stuff like that come in, very few chevys come in. Chevy has it down for reliability, ford for fuel economy and power and dodge has to have something but I dunno what it is lol
Strange. I have a 97 suburban 4x4, and at its peak for me (200k miles) i was averaging 18 on the highway doing 75-80 mph. My dad drives a 2005 silverado 4x4 z71, and when he tries, he pulls out 24-25 mpg highway no problem. So I don't really see 22 all that impressive for a brand new truck with a new "eco-boost" system.
@FFLITMiko I own an auto repair shop, I work on allot of different cars, I dunno what engine the 05 silverado your dad drives has, either a 5.3 or 6.0 but the other day one with a 6.0 came into the shop. 11.8mpg avg is what the display said. I have a 2011 f150 I drive it hard and right now mines is at 16.8. Next time a 5.3 chevy comes in ill get the avg off the datalogs and post them here if anyone wants.
It's funny that all the youtube vids show the Ecoboost getting 20+ mpg and if you look on the fourms most people are getting around 16. kinda weird =/
Really? You actually think 22mpg is incredible? The 07 Hemi ram 4x4 I had would do 21mpg all day long on the highway with no less than 17mpg combined, easy driving. To top it off, I didn't have to use expensive premium gas. What a joke that engine is, 28-29mpg might actually make it worthwhile to buy the ecoboost over a V8.
@thatdamguy00 well he must drive it like he stole it cause I shit you not that I got 22mpg on average for highway driving. You people just need to learn how to drive and maybe people wouldn't get such bad gas mileage. Any car I drive I get the same as EPA estimates or close to it.
@85rotarypower the mpgs realy tell how the guy took care of it if you get better mpgs like 22-24mpgsthe guy babbyed it but ifit got like 15-18 it was drivin hard and put away wet
@85rotarypower i REALLY doubt your hemi was getting 21 on a highway, unless you live in a flat area. Plus he was probably pushing it, being that he said hes in gilroy which has up hills.
no fucking way in hell that a hemi will get near 20mpg, two of my buddys have em and they say hemis are gas hogs and they are averaging 16 mpg tops. 2008 4x4
That's great for a Hemi. I had one in a 2005 Power Wagon. It didn't have that feature, and the gearing was somewhere around 5:1, so it was a real gas hog.
if my 1994 f150 had a 5speed trans i could get that too
