@ChiSportsNut18 Wow, do you think, not Einstein....It is a tribute to Rock and Rollers who have passed and not meant to reflect the time before the song
Fats Domino is alive, You also have Bill Medoly in here, He is the Righteous Brother that is alive, Bobby Hatfield has passed on. Wow a lot of mistakes here and a lot missed, Great song tho !!
Gives me the chills! My dad was a fraternity brother of Bobby Hatfield...they both died suddenly 2 weeks apart...I know they're up there enjoying themselves with the best of all timers!!
@rockinrobintweets Rock and Roll's very foundation was part country (check out rockabilly) and part R and B/soul....If I kicked John out, I would have to eliminate Johnny Cash....they were both cross over artists.....but mostly the folks that passed as shown in the video were contributors to a genre of music that had many varied parts including folk, country, r and b hip hop....and so on.....and afterall, this is my analysis of the song. Thanks though....
@mnoble61 I very much respect your view and I agree Johny Cash and a few others like Jerry Lee Lewis would be considered crossovers/ But John Denver wasnt an actual crossover as he didnt play rockabilly or as far as I heard nothing other the Folk / Country, even Bobby Darin had crossover. Any way no disrespect meant.. I saw John Denver in concert in the 1970 s and enjoyed it very much. I am not asking dor anyone to be kicked out just he s not Rock N Roll BUT hope he s in heaven
Respond to this video... anyone who remembers Warren ZEVON IS TOPS IN MY BOOK the greatest performer not in the rock n roll HOF anyway schrew the hof
You need to add Jan Berry of Jan And Dean. They had tons of hits from the latter 1950 s THRU 1966 when Jan had the car accident. Then he and Dean did touring as Jan s recovery progressed. Sadly we lost Jan in 2004 but he should be remembered for his talent and his inspritaion of re learning and rebuilding your life after a tragic accident.
When Jerry Garcia died, he went to a sort of Limbo. There was Morrison, Hendricks, John Lennon, Elvis, and many others. He was handed his guitar. He Smiled and asked Hendriks, "I must be in heaven, right?" Jimmy sarcastically said, "Just Wait".
In walked Karen Carpenter. She announced, "OK, let's take it from the the top: 'Close to You'..."
So this band is joined by the latest R&Roller to pass... he gets there and sees all this talent.... he proclaims "I can't believe it... I must be in heaven!" Lennon looks at him and sarcastically says "Don't be so quick to think, mate" ... Just then Karen Carpenter comes out and sits at the drums and says" Okay, breaks over... from the top AGAIN! .... "Close to You!" One, two, three and..." ... LOL
Great song, I really hope they'll be rock 'n roll music in Heaven, I would definitely be having a blast if I could watch all of my favorite musicians play music together in Heaven
@44sox44 Rock and roll takes in a lot...including rap/hip hop which is r and b....the basis for rock and roll. Beastie boys do rap....does that eliminate them from rock?

One of my favorite videos to this Righteous Brothers Classic. Do you people know that Otis Redding died on the night that Jim Morrison became the first Rock and Roller to be arrested on stage on December 9-10, 1967 in New Haven and it's funny but I take Chief Kelly's side and wished that Jim had learned something from it before his stunt in Miami where there's no photographic evidence that he exposed himself? Dan Nealon
Great song, I sometimes wonder if there really is gonna be a rock 'n roll Heaven? If so I would love to play music with all of my favorite musicians in Heaven and I hope all of my favorite rock musicians will be there in Heaven
@mnoble61 i think iread something about his death ,he was having renovations done on his house when he died ,and the builder on his death bed confessed to killing him over a dispute money/renovations ,can anyone confirm ?

thanks for putting harry chapin and john denver in your montage. they were an inspiration to me while growing up. i think you did a great job for your video. thanks for posting it!! may they all rest in peace and sing in harmony.
Great video. Do'nt forget more late icons like Darrell " Dimebag" Abbott, Randy Rhoads,Johnny Cash, Selena, John Entwhistle, Keith Moon, Billy Preston, Sonny Bono, Jam Master Jay, Johnny Burnette, Gene Vincent, & Marty Robbins, Among others.
Johnny Maestro ("16 Candles" ~ "The Worst That Could Happen") made his journey to Rock and Roll Heaven on March 24, 2010. Johnny's career in music lasted more than fifty years and he was considered the bel canto of doo wop and rock and roll. He could sing doo wop, pop, rock & roll, soul, r&b, gospel, but his favorite was vocal group harmony. He will be missed.
Rod Allen of The Fortunes (died 2008) and England Dan (died 2009) who was the brother of Jim Croft are also additions to rock'nroll heaven. RIP till we meet again!
They are still in Iowa, rocking out on the runway. You're right man they should be here, but good job by mnoble61. Its hard to include everyone with a 3 and 1/2 minute song.
@tonjo77 I would like to see thier pictures added too. My okder sisther interduced me to the earlier rockers and I have a lot of respect for them plus the music is awesome . My most favorite Rocker in the world was, is, and always will be Freddie Mercury but I like and respect other Rockers

Thank you for sharing this. I think Peter Steele, Dimebag Darrell, John Bonham and Steve Clark are having a really heavy jam in heaven right now.

I know it's not easy to edit this great video, but I hope you do an edit and put Johnny Maestro in there!
