I don't care what it is, any machine that burn up my O2 and give me CO2, pollute my water and soil is bad technology.
US has the most advance technologies and lots of brainy scientists, we also consume the most, it is our responsibility to lead and come up with some good solutions.
Abovegroundminer: Please quit E-mailing me with your Gay fantasies . IM JUST NOT INTERESTED ! Im not gay...at all ! If you are fine..Its none of my business Im just not interested . There are sites you can go to Im sure....Just look around.
I have to do what the "BOSS" ask's of me or I will lose my job. We all know that the only secure job is a goverment job.
I have picking my brain on how to push the Cap and Trade bill with industry and the tax payer's! Corn take to much money to convert for fuel. I have now real solution's and I hope co^2 leak's into all the repulician basement's.
i just cannot stand those irrational commentaries usually made by experts on TV or Internet.. we are still burning firewood, for heaven's sake!! spewing so much soot and particulates far more than the combined total of all coal powerplants.. Why?? All of our chimneys and stove pipes are not even regulated by EPA. They are just blowholes without any filters or scrubbers or whateve.. Just blow soot and particulates all over the neighborhoods and everyone start wondering why they have allergies..
I respect tradition -- but when people consider coal sacrosanct "tradition" it is simply wrong.
But "iconoclast" is not a pejorative!
FACT: Municipal solid waste (MSW) is our most available and reliable "renewable resource". AFTER removing recyclables/compostables--MSW, including hazardous materials, can be gasified by an extremely high-temp arc. Gasification would be great.
Why is this not happening in the U.S.?
Perhaps because people are too entrenched in their perceptions of tradition.
When there are proven clean energy alternatives to coal only the greedy, stupid or insane would opt for it. Thank goodness for Dr. Chu's rise in the new Obama admin!

@Raafi1234 It takes energy to do that. More energy than you got from burning the coal in the first place.
