The 3rd false sounded great, Syd Barrett why oh why did Madcap Laughs get released the way it did? Its been well documented that from Waters, I suspect not so much Gilmour, the final release was "revenge" bearing in mind they had some very very good takes, still sat in vaults somewhere.
@Nic01224 A lot of people seem to think Gilmour was the producer of this album, but in fact my brother Malcolm Jones was the original producer , Gilmour was only brought in later to finish it. It was thanks to Malcolm that the album was ever recorded at all.
@MissJensk1 Yeah I know Gilmour wasn't the origional producer. What I read however was that they ommited a lot of Barrett's better work like Opel in favour of bad mixes like the page turning on She took a long cool look at me. The origional producer is quoted in one of the Barrett biographies as being furious at the finished product, due to Gilmour and Waters.
@Nic01224 You might be interested to read Malcolm's book "The Making Of The Madcap Laughs" which gives a full account, you can download it from the BrainDamage website.

Perhaps his most soulful singing...and not even put on the original album.
The last line at 1:58 is so amazingly beautiful:
"and looking up high into the sky, I breath as the water streams over me..."

Syd's voice in the last part of the song is truly incredible. It has so many qualities and charm and emotion in it. Syd 's the best.
