CG is definitely one of the best animes(after Gintama in my opinion). I don't understand why some people say that this is just a ripoff from Gundam and immediately say that this is bad, and even if this is a ripoff does it mean it's bad? I like Gundam and these two have a little similar vibe but still i prefer CG.
@stebsis it is by no means a Gundam ripoff. I'm a hardcore gundam fan and I love this series as well. It's taken some inspiration from gundam, as most recent mech genres have. Gundam is a classic right up there with Mazinger and Getter Robo, it's only natural the newer generation of mech anime take inspiration from them.

Yes, I will agree that since 'Zero' is there the peace is not going to break instantaneously. You put it a pretty good way, although I do still believe Lelouch would've been more useful alive, I can see how the peace Lelouch set can last for at least a generation. Actually, maybe not fix the world, but the death of one person -has- ended wars and brought peace. Look at when Hitler died. Lots of people were happy, and things got better. They're not going to say there's not going to be another war and that it's going to be happy from now on, but he had it set so he could achieve peace for at least a while. It makes perfect sense if you -actually- stop to think about it.

Lelouch was much more useful alive then dead. He could've maintained that peace for an incredibly elongated period of time. Now that's he's dead, the so called peace he created will last for 10 years ~ tops. It's not that hard to figure out, human nature encourages war and conquering, regardless of the environment.
That's true,but the concept of the ending that they wanted you to focus on was that the countries were brought together, that it brought not only peace but respect and honesty. That it didn't matter if you were Japanese, Britanian, Chinese, ect. Plus, if you pay attention, Lelouche isn't actually dead. I'd argue more to the point but I don't have all day to waste replying because one single person's QQ-ing about not liking/understanding the ending.
Of course the peace that Lelouch had created wouldn't last forever. That is someone thing no one can accomplish. It wasn't Lelouch plan. Like he said he wanted for the world to be able to move on with negotiation instead of war. He said he would believe in the wishes of the people. He united the world by giving them a similar goal. Getting rid of the evil Lelouch. He didn't unit the countries he united the people.
Dude, I get what the writers were trying to do. They were trying to highlight that the death of a 'tyrant' can result in a unification of the people, since they all have a common enemy, and a unification of nations, since Lelouch already set that beforehand. And it's my honest opinion that, that concept is BS. Because it never worked before, also Lelouch's death has been confirmed by the screenwriter of Code Geass. I understand the ending, but see it at a different viewpoint.

CG is definitely one of the best animes(after Gintama in my opinion). I don't understand why some people say that this is just a ripoff from Gundam and immediately say that this is bad, and even if this is a ripoff does it mean it's bad? I like Gundam and these two have a little similar vibe but still i prefer CG.

@stebsis it is by no means a Gundam ripoff. I'm a hardcore gundam fan and I love this series as well. It's taken some inspiration from gundam, as most recent mech genres have. Gundam is a classic right up there with Mazinger and Getter Robo, it's only natural the newer generation of mech anime take inspiration from them.

He treated Britannia like they treated the area's, making them understand what discrimination can cause. The way Lelouch caused peace wouldn't start a new cold war. And the next war would at least be a generation away.
If Lelouch would have kept on ruling he might have been able to unite the countries, but not the people. Remember that Zero is still there to maintain the peace.
I still think your right for a part though ^^ I can certainly understand what your saying.

Yes, I will agree that since 'Zero' is there the peace is not going to break instantaneously. You put it a pretty good way, although I do still believe Lelouch would've been more useful alive, I can see how the peace Lelouch set can last for at least a generation. I just fear that once that generation is gone, the next one won't be so peace mongering.

@hsadman2 Becoz they are planning on a sequel or mayb a side story that might include C.C or Lelouch ( Hell YEA!!! ), so i think thats the reason they make the R2 ending less satisfying than the first did, as the first got inform us that thrs gonna be a season 2, but not for R2, So i can understand ur feeling :D

On a sidenote, while it was a less then satisfying ending, it wasn't the worst, just incredibly.... disappointing. (Not really because of what happens, more because what they expect us to go with) R2 started hacking down on one of the best Anime's of all time : /

@NLwino I have nothing against the anime, as I said, it's an incredible anime. But the ending, as epic as it was, is just a bunch of BS. I'm not gonna spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen the whole thing, but it's not what happens that annoys me, it's just what we're expected to go with.

Actually, maybe not fix the world, but the death of one person -has- ended wars and brought peace. Look at when Hitler died. Lots of people were happy, and things got better. They're not going to say there's not going to be another war and that it's going to be happy from now on, but he had it set so he could achieve peace for at least a while. It makes perfect sense if you -actually- stop to think about it.

Lelouch was much more useful alive then dead. He could've maintained that peace for an incredibly elongated period of time. Now that's he's dead, the so called peace he created will last for 10 years ~ tops. It's not that hard to figure out, human nature encourages war and conquering, regardless of the environment.

That's true,but the concept of the ending that they wanted you to focus on was that the countries were brought together, that it brought not only peace but respect and honesty. That it didn't matter if you were Japanese, Britanian, Chinese, ect. Plus, if you pay attention, Lelouche isn't actually dead. I'd argue more to the point but I don't have all day to waste replying because one single person's QQ-ing about not liking/understanding the ending.

Of course the peace that Lelouch had created wouldn't last forever. That is someone thing no one can accomplish. It wasn't Lelouch plan. Like he said he wanted for the world to be able to move on with negotiation instead of war. He said he would believe in the wishes of the people. He united the world by giving them a similar goal. Getting rid of the evil Lelouch. He didn't unit the countries he united the people.

Dude, I get what the writers were trying to do. They were trying to highlight that the death of a 'tyrant' can result in a unification of the people, since they all have a common enemy, and a unification of nations, since Lelouch already set that beforehand. And it's my honest opinion that, that concept is BS. Because it never worked before, also Lelouch's death has been confirmed by the screenwriter of Code Geass. I understand the ending, but see it at a different viewpoint.
