Todays sports bikes may have the power and handling, etc., etc. but they're soulless. I would choose a bike like this over an S1000RR any day of the week.
hey belle machine!!! je remarque tout comme sur ma Z1000J de 1981 qu'il y a une fumée bleue en décélération lorsque l'on monte dans les tours (au dessus de 6000tr/min environ) est ce normal????? j'avais peur que cela vienne de la qualité de l'huile mais j'ai l'impression que ces moteur bouffent tout simplement de l'huile...? merci de votre réponse...
Hey yeah! plus it got repaired immediately by Ryan a car technician at from the dealer! I was back on the road to Deals Gap an hour later! Realy got lucky on that!
Beautiful machine. My brother had a 900 around this year and it was fast as he*l. I was doing around 140. It was strong. The steel frame bikes are still fast. And this is a great one.
0:15 comes the highest revs and smoke after that. Stalling and poor idle. Expression on JP:s face tells also that something gone wrong. Piston ring broken, or valve stem seal lifted on its place??
I have Gpz1100 -83 with Wiseco pistons (1134cc) and also rebuild head (by myself) and it has also been driven about 5000km after rebuild.
Power was greatly increased and has good torque. No need to shift down from fifth for fast overtake from 60km/h. From 7000 to 11500rpm it really pulls my arms. :-) Before rebuild the motor smoked, camchain was worn and second gear didn't stay on.

After 0:15 smoke is vapor coming out of exhaust, condensation, plus new paint on engine was cooking too..
Poor idle, after a good heat up It needed a slight adjustment. Engine head was just overhauled.
JP's face? Deceived cause the engine didn't start at first press of the button, had to press a second time to get it started.
Since then, bike has gone through 5000km adjusted valves and running very strong.
