I'm looking into providing power generation in the event of a massive EMP event. I assume the Charge Regulator and the Blocking Diode would need replaced in the case of such an event. Do you know how these components would be effected in case of an EMP or if there are any equivalent components that could be used that are resistant to EMP radiation?

Would the motor be effected as well?

@capitalmindz EMP would not hurt this generator if it is not hooked up to anything, the reason being is that there is no closed loop path to complete the circuit. If it was being used to charge something like a battery at the moment an EMP event occured, then it might hurt something. As far as the charge controller is concerned, there is no EMP specification or rating for the NC25A. We would have to ask the manufacturer who is Flexcharge . Thanks for asking- Brad

The wiring described in the video does not match the schematic.

1) The video shows connecting the +battery sensing terminal connected to output terminal block 2.

2) The schematic shows the +battery sensing terminal connected to the input terminal block 1 and the output side of the thermal fuse which is coneected to input side of the charge controller.

So which one is correct? The video or the schematic? I think its the video...

@schaffercl You can hook up the +battery either way, it will work fine.
