Actually, I just looked back to find the program and it was 1999 Worlds. The commentator said that Povilas was the best male skater in that competition.
He is a fantastic skater! One of the British commentators said(I don't remember which program)that in his opinion, Povilas was the best ice dancer in the world...I agree. The move at 2:48 is so cool and so unusual...where he goes up on his toe pick for a second as he's turning. At least, I've never seen it before.. I love these two!
@friendhug I'm also lithuanian but I'm so much proud of them not because of that but because they show that passion others don't and they do that with big love to everybody who watch their performances, not for winning. This is probably one of the reasons why they have so many fans even in Japan. By the way Margarita is Ukrainian by birth, Povilas is Lithuanian.
This was beautiful. I think she improved her skating greatly in the following years, though. She seemed to be struggling a little more than him in this one, while their later routines did not give this impression. He was already perfect back then, he is arguably the best male ice dancer ever, both in terms of skating and as a partner. They certainly deserved better marks but unfortunately they have been undermarked for most of their career so Nagano was no exception :( Thx for posting.

Great program, I like it! However, her positioning was absolutely hideous at points.

So much better than the winning programs that year. More interesting choreography, flow, connection, difficulty. Way way better.
