When I compare both games Fallout 3 has a better story line and is more into the story.Fallout New Vegas is more fun and has more funny parts in it then Fallout 3 but it doesn't have a clear story line.

... Its a good song and all... But then I think of the pint-sized slasher singing it in a child-like tone with a sadistic edge as a knife slowly traces a trail down a window... Thats why Fallout 3 will always be a bit better than Vegas in my eyes... Much much creepier.

The two Fallout's have different feels. Fallaout 3 is more of a survivor feel. New vegas is more civilized and it has more settlements. Which ever you like more is up to you

@kankleMONSTAR True, true. New Vegas wasn't why I fell in love with Fallout though. I'm hoping Fallout 4 will be a darker, scarier, sadder, and more grim than Fallout 3. Something that might actually make me feel uncomfortable when exploring the wastes. Lol, that probably sounds terrible, but I love when a game makes me feel true emotions. That, and a new game engine.

Guys c'mon your comparing the newly polished Fallout 3 to the under construction New Vegas. Heard there will be more DLCs in NV. Plus isn't the non-game of the year as buggy as NV. Give it a chance. just to add to everyone's comments here, Fallout 3 is much better than New Vegas simply because it actually feels more post apocalyptic. like New Vegas is almost untouched and DC is basiclly leveled.

A lot of people really seem to prefer 3 to New Vegas. New Vegas isn't a bad game and in a lot of ways beets 3. There isn't a great deal of difference in game play. I would say they deserve the same amount of credit. However I do think the atmosphere in fallout 3 is better and has more of a 'wasteland' feel to it.

I can't believe they messed up FNV it shoulda been great! It had no creepy twisted 50's style apocalypse horror survival underground subway zombie shootouts! And the super mutants replaced with nightkin and given a new less scary model! What shit! And the strip isn't even that cool and i love exploring museums in F3 so much better.

@Armidillodude well the muties r like that because they Are the remnants of the masters army and the majority are 1st gen mutants, whom are smart and in most cases civilized, while in fallout 3, the muties r dumb as shit and wartown constantly, and exposed to a different way of mutation, in their case, tossing people into rooms of radiation, while in new vegas, they are carefully mutated
