  • amazing version... where did this come froM?

  • WHAT A CLEANEST VERSION, THIS MAKE ME HAPPY, THANX.

  • Go the Cashman

  • 100 likes, 0 dislikes

  • A Pure legend forever and always

  • great song , but it's not his best ALL HIS SONGS ARE THE BEST

  • This is when you get dumped and like it. Or if you're trying to like it.

    I can relate.

  • @Amandalark your doubt is absolutely right, my grandma puts on the soundtrack sometimes when im over... gotta run out to the pickup and grab the real stuff cause there just aint nuthin like it!

  • I really want to cover this song

  • I still haven't seen the bio flick but I seriously doubt that Joaquin could capture the grit, the warmth, the brilliance that was Johnny Cash...

  • @AmandaLark its a good film, but obviously no1 could play johnny, although he picked joaquin himself, so he mustve thought something of him

  • @AmandaLark He does it pretty good. Although his singing is nothing like Cash's, i honestly think Cash would enjoy it. For the budget they had, it was fantastic.

  • 4 versions,one version....

    matanza wide open road

    just search on tube!

  • love the old country music... Travis Tritt was right when he said "Country isn't country anymore"

  • walmart just had too...

  • Anyone else think that most folks that wear black alot are usually eccentric, aloof, and generally weird people?

  • what's the year on this song?

  • Version two had a fella by the name of Red Kerdnal (I believe that was his last name) on the steel guitar. It one of a few to my knowledge of Cash songs that have a steel guitar on it.

  • @SavageArmsMan Red Kernoodle according to the book.

  • @SavageArmsMan It had a strong Hank Williams influence. You can hear it here somewhat too.

  • cool video and song :)

  • JR IS MY HERO A PURE LEGEND

  • Thanks for posting what a wicked song! :)

Does anyone know what CD this was on ?

Also...I know some of Johnny's songs were covers...(earlier in life as well as later)...

any idea if he covered this one...or wrote it ? Looking for facts not opinions...thanks! :)

  • I got a slower version. Can someone send me this version plz?

  • ive been memorizing his songs since i watched walk the line...old joquain doesnt make it but it sure put it ma head...ive been playing that boy named sue for as long as a year an i still cant figure the awesomeness...R.I.P mate...you rock

  • first recorded song for mr cash. aka the best musician of all time. in my opinion. hes great

  • The second version is a lot slower, I think. And it was A.P. "Red" Kernodle who played pedal steel guitar on it. And here we have Luther playing the sharp solos!

  • he wasnt the greatest singer of all time, he wasnt the best guitar player ever. his music wasnt all that revolutionary.

what made Johnny Cash so special?

i dont know, but their aint a day goes by i dont have one of his songs in my head.

even June Carter wasnt the greatest singer. why do i love seing them on stage together and enjoy every song they preformed?

Johnny's is probably the greatest musician of our century. because he meant what he said, and said what he felt. he lived life fully.

  • I think Luther Perkinks makes it

But Johnny was awesome in his songs

  • Actually, his songwriting was pretty revolutionary, especially in the 50's. Think about Walk the Line, which has no chorus, or the intricate rhyme scheme of Come In Stranger.

His voice had authority. It is a subtle thing - listen to Tommy Cash sing, then listen Johnny. Somehow it just isn't the same. He's the Abraham Lincoln of American music.

  • Yeah, you're right mate!

I thank the uploader of this video to give another great cash song to Youtube.

  • Pictures of the real Johnny Cash and Joquain Phoenix playing as Johnny Cash

  • england loves u jr i hope ur happy up there wiv june ill see u wen i come home

  • whoooo whooooo whoooo wide open road here i fukin come love u johnny

  • Johnny just has a way of making every song his own..

What a man..The one and only....

  • love this song johnny u r the best singer ive ever heard ur voice is like no other ana the way u can tell a story wid ur music
