came here after watching the Moog movie which is not mentioned but Gershon Kingsley is interviewed. heard this song probably 40 years ago played by a music teacher. It's always haunted me and I guess I know why now. Here's the ghost in the machine, the inventor and the composer.
@Cedridor82 how would this be a remix if it is made in fucking 1969? Crazy Frog was made in the early 2000... Who the fuck is so dumb that he thinks this is a remix of the Crazy Frog -shitversion one? OMG
the cover by muse is pretty good it sounds like an epic video game that involves of eating wizards and slaying dragons....this one sounds really trippy which is awesome...so weird how the same song can have SUCH a different feel to it

@ZoMbieKid97656 You just modified a comment which has been on YouTube for years now. I first saw the comment you copied when I first started reading the comments.
There is still good music nowadays. Sitting in the past will only cause you to miss out on the good music of today.
@ZoMbieKid97656 what do you mean for "today's music" ? I agree with you about almost all the mainstream... i mean i cannot listen to a radio station anymore without feeling angry... but i disagree in a general sense, today there are tons of good music, you only have to work harder to find music of your taste
'Today's music' is pretty much the same as 'yesterday's music'. Even disliking Justin Bieber when liking Michael Jackson - are you for real? You realise Michael Jackson didn't write all of his songs - don't you?
@yonskii Yes, I agree with that. Jackson was more skilled at 17 than Bieber. Jackson came from a musical family and was pushed hard.
I was just saying though, that hating Justin Bieber is silly if you like Michael Jackson. It would be like hating Michael Jackson when you like Stevie Wonder and James Brown. It's similar to the whole 'Skrillex is the best dubstep producer/Skrillex is not a dubstep producer' thing that's happening in dubstep circles.
@yonskii But is the sale on the image, or the talent?
Also, when I talk about Michael Jackson, I mean more of the Thriller era. Girls getting crushed at concerts, crying when they see him in person, waiting in line for hours just to buy a ticket, etc. If you think Bieber and Jackson aren't similar, my opinion differs from yours.
Beiber is, in my opinion, a modern day Jackson. Not the talent, but for media coverage, 'celebrity status', etc.
Me thinks you read too many gossip articles. Criminal charges - not guilty of all charges. Talentless - he wrote Billie Jean. He made the moonwalk what it is now (well known, often repeated).
This song is on Gershon Kingsley's album "Music To Moog By". Releases in 1969. It has 10 tracks on it and runs for about 26 minutes. The album has 7 of his own creations along with 2 Beatles covers and one Simon & Garfunkel cover on it. I own this on CD.
Great post. Of all the versions and remixes I like the Shaolin Temple one - I only have it as an mp3 with no details, but happy to post when I work out how.

Nobody really "invented" electronic music. For one Jean-Jacques Perrey (with whom Kingsley co-operated with on some albums) composed electronic tunes before Kingsley did it. Perrey released an album named "Musique Electronique du Cosmos" in 1962.
The German Karlheinz Stockhausen did avantgarde music which he called "electronic" in 1952 already. The guys in Kraftwerk were his students, and we all know what Kraftwerk did later.
Pierre Schaeffer was an electronic music pioneer too.
@McLarenMercedes There was the Musictron of the early 60's used in "Runaway" by Del Shannon. From what I read it was cobbled up with parts from radio parts.
@commodore665 Damn right. There were some awesome electronic tunes in the 60s (the Doctor Who theme being one of the pioneers in that area). It was a very new thing back then and some musicians loved experimenting with it, and it sometimes had awesome results (Pink Floyd, anyone?).
I am so happy to find that track! It was used in Wolf and Bunny cartoonfilms back in soviet era in USSR. But the original music is so much better! This is filled with beauty. Too short perhaps. Ahhh, another masterpiece of mankind...
@JeremyVisser The Doctor Who theme in itself was a groundbreaking piece of early electronic music so I would not be surprised the similarities are indented. Most of the effects of it where created by a BBC female sound artist who for the longest time went uncredited. The BBC team had to practically invent the ways themselves to make that music.
@JT42CWRM this is the origional electro pop way way before Klaus Schulze, Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre. The genius of Mr Gershon Kingsley (composer of this fantastic piece of music) is second to none, so forget your Klaus's, Jean-Michel's, Kraftwerks. Gershon really IS the godfather of electronic music!
this is a great video that really compliments the song. i recently did a radio show on Popcorn...

@10p6 Well you should listen to Song Of The Second Moon LP by Tom Dissevelt & Kid Baltan which predates Dr Who Theme by 4-6 years.

@cometothesabbat While the song you mention was a few years earlier, it was mostly still orchestral, where as Doctor who is mostly electronic.

@10p6 I mentioned an album and most of the tracks there are very electronic indeed. Have you even listened to it?

@mariboccful Thumbs up. I must admit I prefer the older Doctor Who themes. They seemed to contain a little more emotion in the music in my opinion.

I am so happy to find that track! It was used in Wolf and Bunny cartoonfilms back in soviet era in USSR. But the original music is so much better! This is filled with beauty. Too short perhaps. Ahhh, another masterpiece of mankind...

@poolryhm Yeah, in the cartoon the Hot Butter version was used.

Ahhh. Pure audio-visual dope for the mind!

It looks strangely like the original 1960s Doctor Who intro.

@JT42CWRM: Naaah! Acid trips came in colour even back in the sixties... LOL
boz1965 7 months ago
@JT42CWRM this is the origional electro pop way way before Klaus Schulze, Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre. The genius of Mr Gershon Kingsley (composer of this fantastic piece of music) is second to none, so forget your Klaus's, Jean-Michel's, Kraftwerks. Gershon really IS the godfather of electronic music!

Like I just posted on my facebook, I could listen to this a million times over and it will NEVER get old.
Truly an inspirational piece of art. Gershon! You are a winner in my book.
