He may be a gangster as that's all he's ever known, but he obviously has a good heart , e.g when he 'never stripped her with his eyes' but looked and treated her with respect (the mark of a true gentlemen v.rare nowadays), he didn't use her and leave her as many men would for being a dancer there, the way he loved Bittu and even gave up his way of life for her. .. so sad.
