@grimjim666 Well uh the game is alright on a tactical view, but eh just to let you know if you dont mind a slight graphics decrease the original DoW 1-expansions are pretty immerse in detail, buildings and defense are in it, there is a little more to do then guide a few squads over and over and you can download basically everything shown in this video as well as up to 8 more races. So even though DII has better graphics and etc, eh its not quite the best choice they fumbled the game on this one.

@Hydra000001..kinda...GW took the idea of the troopers and arachnids and gave them form,then blizzard later ripped off almost that exact form and put it in their games.i would definitely say blizzard is more at fault for ripping something off here,and thats only 2 of the 12 races you can play in 40k not to metion the 40k background is noting like starship troopers at all besides that they call earth terra.The tyranids, which are similar to arachnids weren't even introduced to the game until 1993

mine never got stuck on 99% but yes the updates took along time. I think its a great game but if you don't like steam then no you will not want to get this game.
Don't buy this game. You'll be FORCED to download the huge updates you don't care about through Steam (they won't let you play until the updates are all 'complete'), and the download gets stuck at 99%, at least for me. Even if not, this is ridiculous. I bought the game yesterday and still haven't had the ability to play it.

each army gets 1 building to my knowledge. This game is a whole lot different to the first version of the game that allowed you to mass large armies and do some serious ass kicking.
The main reason why I don't like the game is it makes no sense for an Apothecary to stand up to a Hive Tyrant one on one and do some serious damage (or even win)
u an change paint if you're playing online. it involves making an online accaount and choosing an army, then painting it. you can go back and repaint in "my online profile." but you can always swich between you HQ captains (the three guys you choose) before after and between battles.
it's what plays when you're using the orks in multiplayer. If you troll a bit on google you can find a link to the unofficial soundtrack for the game. I have it on my ipod , really psyches me when the drums kick in. Let me know if you need some help with that
This game is freakin awesome! I am a bit dissapointed with the Campaign though... it is good but you can only be Space Marines...
And by the way can anybody give me some advice for playing as the Eldar against Tyranids since my shruiken cannons are ussles againts them when they have leap and charge and pounce
The upcoming expansion (after Last Stand) is probably Tau, because there was a load of Tau stuff in the game code, with descriptions of certain castes, and list of names of all Tau troops.
you know what would be good for a story for the expansion coming up, if you guys remember the story of the original Dawn of War, and remember how at the end the space marines release a supposedly all powerful demon, they should do a storyline based around that, with two or three story paths, one for the blood ravens and eldar, one for orks and chaos, and a final for tyranids.
Is this the same kind of RTS like warcraft 3? IE, in mark of chaos, you can't build structures, harvest recources etc (as far as i know). Is this "build a base and harvest" type rts?

so im about to upgrade my computers RAM to 1GB, i could get through Soulstorm with major loading times and occasional shitty ass lag... sooo will 1GB let me play this like soulstorm pretty much?

@TheAtheistAussie Windows Live accounts are free. Most of the new multiplayer games are WL multiplayer. E.g, GTA 4, Sacred, Resident Evil 5, Red Faction Guerrilla.

mine never got stuck on 99% but yes the updates took along time. I think its a great game but if you don't like steam then no you will not want to get this game.

Don't buy this game. You'll be FORCED to download the huge updates you don't care about through Steam (they won't let you play until the updates are all 'complete'), and the download gets stuck at 99%, at least for me. Even if not, this is ridiculous. I bought the game yesterday and still haven't had the ability to play it.

each army gets 1 building to my knowledge. This game is a whole lot different to the first version of the game that allowed you to mass large armies and do some serious ass kicking.
The main reason why I don't like the game is it makes no sense for an Apothecary to stand up to a Hive Tyrant one on one and do some serious damage (or even win)

u an change paint if you're playing online. it involves making an online accaount and choosing an army, then painting it. you can go back and repaint in "my online profile." but you can always swich between you HQ captains (the three guys you choose) before after and between battles.

I heard u cant change flags or colors, u can just play as the colors they give you.

it's what plays when you're using the orks in multiplayer. If you troll a bit on google you can find a link to the unofficial soundtrack for the game. I have it on my ipod , really psyches me when the drums kick in. Let me know if you need some help with that

This game is freakin awesome! I am a bit dissapointed with the Campaign though... it is good but you can only be Space Marines...
And by the way can anybody give me some advice for playing as the Eldar against Tyranids since my shruiken cannons are ussles againts them when they have leap and charge and pounce

The upcoming expansion (after Last Stand) is probably Tau, because there was a load of Tau stuff in the game code, with descriptions of certain castes, and list of names of all Tau troops.

you know what would be good for a story for the expansion coming up, if you guys remember the story of the original Dawn of War, and remember how at the end the space marines release a supposedly all powerful demon, they should do a storyline based around that, with two or three story paths, one for the blood ravens and eldar, one for orks and chaos, and a final for tyranids.

Is this the same kind of RTS like warcraft 3? IE, in mark of chaos, you can't build structures, harvest recources etc (as far as i know). Is this "build a base and harvest" type rts?

there actually is no base building whatsoever in dawn of war 2, there was in dawn of war 1 though.
