@maxbfrex the fact of the matter is humans placed the kitten(s) in front of the crab with the intent of getting footage for a film for profit, which turned out to include the kitten getting hurt... plus how often do you think domesticated kittens actually encounter crabs like that? any feral cat worth its salt would have the instinct to stay away, assuming these the hypothetical species coexisted in close proximity for a long time. that and this film ended up killing a couple dozen kittens.

Just watched the movie again. I loved the movie when I was a little kid, and its still a very great movie. The cinematography was better than today's, the plot was original, and it was very cute. Also, Milo looks the same as it did in the beginning as for the end. If you look in the credits, all the animals were highly trained and knew how to do the stunts. There were animal care professionals watching, so everything should've gone well.

Even IF all these accusations are true, it happened YEARS upon YEARS ago and is over with and nothing can be done. Also, those rumors of many cats dying are exagerated. They went through many different cats due to them taking many years to get the movie filmed right, and needing to go through multiple ages for the cat (and dog) as well.

This scene might not be the most egregious but check out the deleted scenes that were from the original Japanese version - holy @#$%...the cat practically drowns after getting hurled many feet off a cliff, tries to climb back up and falls back down. If I knew for sure that one of my favorite chilhood movies may have cause such suffering, I wouldn't buy the movie and show it to my children. Theyr're still making money off of it. And as for Otis "squashing" the frog, my god. It's a PUPPY. Puppies chase things that move. When the frog hopped away, the puppy obeyed his natural curiosity and pounced on it.
