I've seen the rest of this, the suspect starts firing from a standing postion whilst retreating backwards towards the house, he misses the officer and the dog.

Because of the intervention of the K9 the officer gets given a few much needed seconds to get his back-up gun from his ankle holster and he returns fire from a kneeling postion., hitting the perp. The dog was a drug sniffer and wasn't trained for restraining humans but she got stuck in anyway, gotta love the K9s

Keep in mind people that this was SINGLE-PURPOSE DRUG dog, NOT a bite-trained K9. IMO, All LE K9s should be dual purpose if they are going to be in street situations, but this dog was not. She did pretty well considering her training included NO apprehension or bitework.
