  • The problem with this exquisite record and magnificent performance had to do with the record label, Capitol Records, which was not known for a strong R & B promo department in the U.S.---which the same could be said about most major labels during the day. By 1980, labels had become more polarized in the fact that there were separate Top 40, Black, jazz radio promo departments, each targeting the stations within their format for airplay. "Say You Will" should have been a monster on U.S. airwaves.

  • I was 17 when this came out white teenager in Manchester into jazz funk, my friends and i went to Rafters in Manchester where this and many jazz/funk songs were aired...the bomb!! how I wish i could turn back the clock they were some very...very soulful times
