@lolwuthomes we were ALL born into a destructive system. we aren't at fault for being born, but we are responsible for doing something when we see a problem.

proven formulas and scientific facts can be used to make a pretty sound hypothesis for industrial civilization leading to human (and many/most other forms of life) extinction within the next 50-75 years.

civilization can (to an extent) be simplified to "city-building" and since a city is any place with a population density high enough...

Being at the mercy of the earth and it's cycles is one extreme and attempting to survive through technology is the other. The cycles still come, only the stakes are higher. What is "civilization", the self identifier of the doomed self righteous and arrogant? Simplification brings power to self, consumption enslaves and weakens self. Dependence on those, and systems, that do not care about you?

Exactly...Those who want make this about trashing all of civilization are thinking in an either/or false dichotomies IMO...Doing that is a great way to condemn without thinking or look trying to figure out what you, as an individual, can do NOT to go with the default, easy answers. Those are the answers which tell you that predator energy and greed are the only way you will survive.

We are the product of evolution, but we are the first beings who are capable of understanding that.
