  • I am working on mine now. Mine are a bit smaller. I blew out my hair with a heat protector but before that I washed and conditioned then added doo grow thickening moisturizer. It took me 2hrs just to do part of the front. Believe me, these little guys will stay in longer than 4 weeks.

  • i absolutley love mini twists on people!

  • soooo I watched this and really thought about doing mini twists for a second....then realized how completely lazy I am and yea. But I admire your persistence and your hair is great! good video!

  • I Gott Tired Just Watching!

  • Haha. I Lovee How She Started Yawning Doe.

  • Ur Top Is Cuteee, Plus i Love The Hairr. Beautifulll

  • I love how u were rolling ur eyes on the second one! hahah great vid thanks for sharing :)

  • Are the twists going to be tight? Not like super tight to wear they'll break off but tight?

And other thing...my hair isn't as curly as yours...scratch that my hair is like kinky straight(if that even exists) how would you do the ends? I've tried twisting it around my finger but it wouldn't stay.

Thanks in advances, your videos are really helping me on my natural journey. :)

  • . . . okay, me and my sleep-deprived slow self didn't realise that the twists I was doing are technically mini-twists, just not as mini as yours. XD Thanks soooo much for this video because tbh, I had no idea how I was gonna sleep with my hair without some kind of way to wrap it. But the way I did it was to have my bangs forwards, so I dunno if I'll wrap it so completely. . . I'm gonna do it as a side part with the majority of the bangs going one way, and the smaller part going the other, and...

  • @thedarknessofnana ... and I'll post how that goes and looks. =]

  • Lol how long would it take to do it all in one go? 5, 6 hours? I looove the look of it but I'm just not up for the challenge yet. I'm two months into going natural, so maybe later when it's not so intimidating, I'll do it. XD Tbh, I'd rather get someone else to do it. . . *lazy* That's what aunties are for! =D

  • Its so strange. Mine begin to unravel at the root, not the end. I've never put gel in them. Maybe that will help.

  • Oh uh uh...this why ima get locks LMBO...I mean...I came a long way from Last year but I know i aint got no patience for this...

  • I just now finished my twists. Took me two days only because I'm preggo and have nothing better to do LOL.... Very good tutorial my bf cant stop staring at my hair lol

  • @JenniferAndGaryB u and me both girl! i flat iron twice a month and have heat damages ends... i use perm rods on my ends when i do a twist out. i would suggest the same for flat twists. maybe do a bunch of like 10 (just guessing) bobby pin them up one by one then when u get to ten roll them with the perm rods. hope it helps!

  • Just did these today, ahhhhh I love them :)

  • Wow the bit you did with the bun for going out is genius! Thats so clever!

  • Can boys do this hair style aswell ??

  • @westwood5411 of course i think it would be cute! :) God Bless!

  • i just got done doing this it took me 8 hours to do my whole hair but i did mine smaller than hers and it look just the same as hers

  • I have a question.. How long do you keep in your mini twists before finally removing them? I really would like to try this style, but only if it can last me a couple of weeks

  • @NikstaPooh I love this style and I have it now. I can usually leave it in for about 4 wks if I do them really tight, otherwise they may unravel. If I leave them in longer, they become tangled at the root as they grow out, I have tightly coiled hair though.

  • I wonder if this would work on transitional hair. My ends sometimes unravel

  • @Ancharity seconding this! I've been looking for something I could do on transitioning hair- mine is starting to get difficult now, and I want something I can still play with, without causing too much difficulty. I guess if I were to straw set the ends it might work?

  • You always have the best videos!

  • I did it and it looks great. Thank you for taking the time to show us all how easy it is to take care of our own hair. I can't wait to see more hairstyles.

Thank you so much for your help!!!

  • DEFINITELY HELPED!!! THANKS!!!

  • Your hair looks so happy and healthy! Love how it springs back after you stretch out sections to divide for your twists :). Your hair care is an inspiration, thank you!

  • you mentioned that you start with dry stretched out hair... how did you stretch your hair?

  • @TheSongstress319 she had it in a style she achieved earlier with bantu knots

  • when you stretch your hair out i start drooling. out off all the natural hair gurus you give me the most motivation

  • Me encanta :)

  • I watch this video everytime I want to twist my hair :)

  • im gonna try this tonight. i want to get my hair out of the way for the next few months

  • Nice tutorial! what happens if you do find that one piece of hair is longer than the other? do you make it into a separate twist?

  • Great tips. I definately need to take my time.

  • you have very pretty hair

  • It's gorgeous but WHEW!!!

    *faints*

  • I have wanted to know how to do this myself. I will try it over Christmas break. I'm only 3 months natural. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • Thank you for being such a beautiful inspiration to me. I put my natural hair in twists for the first time last night, i liked how the looked so much I wore my hair out the next day. Thats huge for me because since going natural I have rarely been seen without a wig or hair extensions. Thank you for helping me take the time to get to know and love my own hair "o)

  • i was lmao when u made that face and it was only the beginning. well i guess i should go start mine...lol

  • Great tut. Thanks!

  • i wonder if this is recommended for transitional hair (i'm half and half) i guess i will try and see what i get

  • Do you think this is for retaining length?

  • i'm about to start this on my hair. wish me luck! :)

  • hmm... i might have to try this over winter break lol

  • you really do have a lot of patience! i wear my hair in twists as well but my hair is shorter and not as thick. The longest is takes me is 3 hours, but I like that yours are all the same size. I dont worry too much about mine being the same. I will try the mini ones next time. So you dont ever retwist them to not get knotted or anything? I only keep mine in for like a week or so if I dont redo them

  • 5 days lawd! u have some patience because i couldn't do this unless i had about 2 other people helping

  • can you show what kind of gel, and shea butter you used to do the mini twist?

  • I have never tried mini twists but I was JUST trying to decide how I wanted to do my hair from now till Christmas. This is an awesome idea. I think I'll take advantage of my stretched out hair and go for it! My hair is just below BSL so I know it's going to take a good grip of time :-/

  • I do this with my older brothers hair. His is about as long as hers with a little less shrinkage. he likes his a bit long ( show off for the girls, smh ) so while twisting other sections i add weight to the parts i've finished by gathering the twists into a clip and letting it hang

  • I'm upset I never thought to wrap my twists...you're so smart. :o)

  • how do you style your hair when twisting one section at a time since you do it over the course of a week? can you possibly do a video on it? love the twists!!

  • Do you only have water in your water bottle spray?

  • I love this video! although this style is beautiful its just soooo time consuming. *rolling our eyes* hours yesterday! I don't know what i will do when my hair is as long as yours, its just off the nape off my neck on my back !

  • This is beautiful!!!!

  • i just finished this today and I love it! thanks girl!!!!!

  • thumbs up for doing it yourself :)

  • Whitney do you still used your tangle teezer?

  • so cute but my hair isnt nice and THICK each time i attempt this it fails so hard :(

  • You are one of the best on You Tube...your hair is always on point. And by the way did I mention I'm jealous of your hair!!! Simply gorgeous!!!

  • you use a tangle teaser? I've heard such mixed things about them, but it obviously works for you!!

  • My favorite Youtuber.

  • Hi. Do you have a "how to twist" for beginners? Can you please do one?

  • i wish my hair was this long... :(....your hair is gorgeous girl

  • @hunneybuns09904 I remember when I was first natural. I am now bra strap length(hair stretched) and I'm like "wow, I'm actually at this point" when I think about my length. I want to be armpit length unstretched.

  • OMG...this looks agonizing...but the results are SO worth it...your hair is beautiful Whitney!

  • I know it took you several days to do this style, but on average how many hours does this take on you hair. Thanks

  • I am a teacher and I just wanted to say you have an excellent way of teaching things others tend to miss "make sure that your hair is the same length to avoid knots when you are taking twists out....tempted to borrow from other side." Great job!

  • OMG I WANTT YOU HAIRRRR

  • Wow that looks good

  • omg i got exhausted just watching you do it....i dread the day u had to take them down lol

  • Lol.. You were getting tired on just the second twist :,D haha

  • DO you put gel on each part?? (PLEASE ANSWER)

  • I love love love the style. I want to try it but my main concern is about the time consuming on the process. But well see. Thanks a lot.

  • I'm so jealous. i know that if i try this one my hair, it won't look like yours. I freakin' love your hair girl :-)

  • when I was little my mom use ato twist my hair all the time, but she never tried the mini ones. Now that I'm older and still natural I think I'm going to try them myself! Thank you so much for putting up a video showing the best way to get the best results!

  • did you blow dry out your hair before you did this??

  • loool, ur expressions are too funny. ur cute. im too lazy to try this tho

  • did you only put gel in the front?

  • damn girl, that must take you foreveeer!

  • where do you but your flax gel?

  • Your hair is GORGEOUS!!! I'm still rocking my TWA and I did a mini twist. Too bad I didn't watch this before since I rushed through them despite the fact that my hair's still really short. Thanks for the vid ^_^

  • takes me 9 hours to twist my hair in mini twists. I got all the patience, lol.

  • i lovveeee thisss im officially going natural :D

  • i really need to try this out

  • I love this hairstyle and your hair. Unfortunately, I don't have the patience to do this. Putting them in and taking them out. I'm tired just thinking about it. LOL. I love your videos though. :)

  • I love this

  • Wowzers.. I dont think I'd have any patience for that style.. lol.. but I'm definitely going to try one day when my hair grows out..

  • Hi naptural85 I love your hair. Are you mixed with any other ethnics?

  • all that hair! we're in the same boat...and I want to do some...so THANK GOD I can keep ALL THIS WORK in for 4 weeks! lol

  • OMG that looks soo Good!! I think I need to redo my twists now -__- it was my first attempt

  • i have 3b hair and when i attempt two strand twists it unravels....is there no hope for me and mini twists? i really LOVE them :-(

  • looks great. love the idea of making two parts! geneius!

  • i have done my hair like this many times..i have a problem with my ends..they are dry and wont stay curly. I believe they are damaged. My question is should i go ahead and cut them while they are in the twist? Or should I just use some type of moisturizer daily?

  • Just thought you shuld know: I love your videos and I watch you OFTEN. I tried my own mini-twists after watching yours and several other uploaders. Anyway I love your channel and what you do.Please check me out! :)

  • i dont have hair like this so i dont know why im watching...but i love it, you look awesome :D

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!! That's all I can say!

  • lol u so did make me yawn

  • Beautiful work!

  • How often do you moisturize and wash when you have these in?

  • I love love love your hair & videos. You are such an inspiration!!!

  • wow..your hair at the end looked amazing.

  • I may ....try this when it gets cooler.

  • Ps I did do a super-high chic bun on the top of my head. Looks great with mini-twists. You should try it!

  • So I'm realizing how ridiculously thick your hair is after trying this on mine and no getting the fullness you have. Yep, I'm hating :)

  • have you ever tried mini braids? I bet those would look supercute and thick :)

  • My flaxseed gel NEVER comes out right bc I can never get it to go on my hair. It just rolls off...if that makes any sense. Unlike gel that goes on and stays in, it just won't work into my hair. Where did I go wrong???

  • Simply amazing!

  • gorgeous...

  • Have you ever completed twisting all of your hair in one day? Or is it impossible?

  • wow and i'll this time ive been getting braid extensions/ micros...! this looks so much better. i just dont know if i have the stamina that you have haha. very impressive natural hair styling

  • OMG i want your hair!!! urgh...

  • i love this! im gonna give it a try it right now lol

  • wow, this is super time-consuming!

  • @tyler62126 I just did mine and it took about 12 hours.

  • Love your videos =] I'm itching to try this style for my summer protective while transitioning, I'm just worried about my ends unraveling.

  • Gurl, you looked like you wanted to call it quits after the first row, you were looking like uhnn-uhn...LOL! But I know you're glad you stuck it out, I sure am. You mini twists have a beautiful sheen to them & are GORGEOUS! Great vid & Thank you the very informative video! 8-)

  • Thanks for the upload. I have always wanted to know how to do twists. I do have one question, however, do I have to make my twists so small?

  • Gosh your videos make me want to go natural! :)

  • Looooove this on you! Looks great! :)

  • The problem I have is doing the back of the hair, would of like to see the direction of how to do the back of the hair. Your twist looks fantastic!!

  • Thank you so much for this. This is very helpful. One day I will find enough patience to do this lol, for now I am saving it in my favs.

Could you please do a video on how you deal with split ends and knots? Pretty please?

  • I am a new natural and I CANNOT wait until my hair gets to your gorgeous length!!! Honey, I love your hair!

  • Great idea with the 2 options for parts.

  • Whooo girl you got alotta hair!!! i love it!!!

  • haven't been getting your vids in my feed! Youtube come on now lol!! Love the results!

  • soooo pretty....im such a sucka for ur hair!

  • This looks beautiful but will probably be one style I will never. ever. try. Takes too long! XD

  • i see you with the tangle teezer!

    i love your hair!!

  • Simply beautiful!

  • sister locs would be beautiful on you! :)

  • your hair is so beautiful. when my hair grows long I will try this style.

  • Don't you wanna twist my hair?? LOL!

  • Thank you for replying to me, what do you suggest for people who have been natural for over a year but havent seen a year's worth of hair growth? I feel as though my hair is not growing at all :(

  • Hey, what is your hair care regimen now? What products do you use?

  • Girl you have a gang of thick beautiful.. Thanks for posting this video. I've been hoping you would..

  • OH! Do you twist each strand individually then around eachother...........or simply wrap around each piece??

  • LOVE LOVE that you did this video. an you offer any tips or advice for my issue..........I have a problem getting the top of the hair of twists and/or braids being puffy. Also, how do you acheive the "perfect twist"? Mine tend to get bendy,,,,,,,,not straight if you know what i mean. Thanks in advance!

  • I love your hair! It's very healthy and long.

  • @Naptural85, since you like products natural, you should check out Pooka Pure & Simple. Their Shea n Olive Hair Butter smells amazing and it works well. They have body products too.

  • this is sooooooo pretty! I know mine won't look like this though lol. I just had a baby and it's so hard to find time to do anything to my hair. this is definitely inspiring though. really pretty girl.

  • @valyse723 i also just had a baby and its hard for me to find time to do anything with my hair...but i try to do like an hour or how ever much i can get done while he sleeps..and before I know it my entire head is twisted :)

  • Looks great, I do mine in 1day and keep them in for 6 weeks! can't do it everyday!lol love all your vids!

  • That looks so pretty but I would never have the patience to do them myself and then take them out! Yikes!

  • I tuned in to your channel just in time. Thanks, you are really helping people.

  • Cool, thanks!

  • I was wondering, what Shea Butter do you use?? Do you make a home remedy? If so what ingredients. I am loving your channel! Its really helping me on my hair journey!

  • Hey TawanaNicole ! The front and sides of my hair also grow slower than the back, I think it's just because the front and sides get styles more, so there is more stress on it! I just try to be very gentle when styling! <3

  • Gorgeous hair!!!! So neat and fly.....Is it the flaxgel the reason why it has a healthy shine? What kind of flaxgel do you use/where do you get it?

  • @kronk99--Hi, I think she makes it herself, she has a "how to" tutorial video about it.

  • Very long process, but such a GORGEOUS outcome! Thanks for the video!

  • Do you get a lot of SSK when you wear this style?

  • Love the video. What's the music? i would love to choreograph a dance to this.

I know what you mean- mini twisting can seem to take forever. I tend to do mine after washing /conditioning hair ( usually weekends or Friday evenings) and takes me between 4 and 5 and half hours in one go. I keep mine in for four to five weeks. Yes, It's hard work and yes, your arms get very strong (they no longer ache!) and I try to think of it as pampering my hair, and looking forward to seeing new growth :)

  • that is sooo creepy! you did make me yawn

  • Your twist look great, but I think it would take me four weeks to get it finished!!! LOL I need to do something because I'm getting a little tired of my hair. I have seen all of your vids but I was wondering if you ever do wash n go's? i would love ot see your mesthod, its getting warm now so a good way to refresh even old twist outs I would guess.

  • Hi! First let me say that I love your videos! I think your awesome! Secondly, I wanted to know why you do the mini twists with dry hair? Is that just you preference or does the hair react differently if its done wet? Will it last longer than 4 weeks or is that just your cut off time? I'm starting with scratch with growing my hair out. I have been sporting a very low cut for a little over a year now! I am excited to see how my hair grows and to try the different styles!

  • I love watching your videos, I love the versatility of the styles you choose. Have you ever tried a rod or roller set. If not, do you know of any reasons to avoid these styles on natural hair?

  • I get serious fairy knots... I suppose from washing. They get so fuzzy from jus messaging and moisturing my hair and scalp. Any how...u have four haters..lmao. I can't imagine why - HER HAIR IS GORGEOUS HATERS!! Lol

  • jesus christ how long did this take?

  • @Naptural85,

Do you think that you will ever straighten your hair?

  • Love it. Thanks for sharing

  • I keep watching this video over and over like something is going to change. I just love your mini twist. I think I'm going to use your technique the next time I do my mini twist [which will be very soon!]. Last night I just twisted on freshly washed hair that had dried to damp. I think I will be a twist out a couple of days and then going back in a rewet, I think this will make my ends curl better, which is what i didn't like about my twist last time. Love you videos!!!

  • I admire your patience.

  • This is my current style. It is very nice. I usually keep them in for four to six weeks. I love the low maintenance of the style and my hair is very health. It takes me about six hours to do it.

  • This would take me forever & a day lol But your mini twist are beautiful and inspired me to give it a try. Maybe in fall/winter for a protective style

  • Oh how I wish my curls were all the same like yours. It seems my front curls are loose and as you back to my nape the curls are tight. Im still going to attempt this style one day. I loved your video. :-)

  • PUMA SHIRT! :D thats an awesome shirt! I have been waiting on this FOREVER! Thanks girl!

  • Lovely, we have similar texture. It must be age because I just don't have the patience, time or arm strength to do those maybe a few in the front with the bun. LOL
