Well, the way I figure (albeit a theory) is this: Big bang, atoms spread, eventually everything dies (suns burn out, etc.), black holes grow, accumulate all atoms, atoms are once again in the same spot. This creates an extremely solid point of matter with the approximate size of a pea, and a massive gravitational field. Auto-excoriation kicks in, spins really fast, new big bang. Trillions of years pass, I explain this to you once again.
