  • now this is my kind of game, what´s with me and games that are psychedelic and have an electronic soundtrack?

  • still play Typhoon2k ( pc remake- as good as the original) try it :D

  • I quite like the tunes on this totally, and I fucking love Tempest 2000 to death, bought a Jaguar in '95 just for this game...

  • i thought tempest 2000 was best i've ever seen/played...incredible effects but still a video-game ( temp.-3000 )...today's games are to realistic and are all about blowing people's head's off...my 8-year old nephew is addicted to halo 4...i'm a little concerned, to say the least...

  • Best video game ever. Beats me that Atari was soon actually having games on the nintendo and microsoft.

  • @TheEZPAXIIChannel The Atari now is not the same atari as back in the day, Infogrames bought the name couple years ago. The real Atari was already dead at the time

  • ACID TRIP!!!

  • Polybius

  • @TheZcarekrow Haha, I had to look that up. Very good.

  • Gorgeous. Probably the most gorgeous game I've ever seen.

  • Uhh, what the heck happened in the Bonus level?

  • @HoneycombAgent um, it's kind of chilled. You have to navigate through all the accelerating hoops but it's very intertial controls and it's all slightly ... unusual.

  • That wasn't a stamp. That was LSD.

  • hooo me esta dando una taque epiléptico haaaa¡¡¡¡

  • this is garbage compared to the original game in the early 80's . the original had no music which was one of the greatest things about it ... instead of listening to the same loop of crappy music over and over again . it reminds me of a porn flick . the constant movement of the game is also horrible and just obnoxious as well . nuff said .

  • @whosyourbuddy100 Yeh you have a valid point there man. Music in computer games is totally crap nowa days because of so many reasons. But the main issue is the fact that the format is a direct plagerism of Radio sets. I've tried telling the Big companies "THIS IS A DIFFERENT FORMAT.. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A 5 MINUTE TRACK LOOPED over & over again". But do they listen? Do they Fuck. IF I was in charge of the Music for a Computer game, I Turn the whole Media on it's Head! But Silence is better. ;)

  • OH MY GOD POLYBIUS NO NOOO NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, this looks more fun than most games nowadays.

  • I have the Jag version and prefer it. This one seems to be messy and having an identity crisis.

  • O_O ES LO MISMO QL POLYBIUS

  • Damn, I need to track this one down again.

    Just beautiful.

  • I played Tempest 2000 on the Atari and I remember how good that was. I would remember as there wasn't many good games on it. :D

Alien Vs Predator was great on the Jag too.

  • talk about comming down after that bonus stage,Holy Shit!!!!!

  • Where can I download this game?

  • You can't. It was released for a little known platform called Nuon.

  • @Danielzxzx1 Heh, did you find that download yet? ^ ^

  • Nice skills

  • I'm speechless never i have seen a more better tempest game.... Wow...

  • Thanks to Jeff Minter for sharing his chemical drugs experience with us folks who never dared to...

  • This is digital psycho drugs...

  • What the hell its going on here, thats so unbelivable awesome great.

    10++/10!!!!

    ^^

  • Remember me and my friends used to roll some spliffs and play this game for hours. After a few months, be got pretty damn good at it. At rolling spliffs that is, not at the game, we sucked at the game.

  • @starstarstar42 whats sad is that its not vectorgraphics anymore

  • What system is this on again?

  • @20eric07 NUON

  • @20eric07 I think I remember having it for the ps1 lol.

  • There aren't "Normal games"

Those are all of a diffrent genere

    This si a classical shooter

GTA Is a third person shooter/simulation

    Fallout three is an RPG/FPS

Callofduty is a FPS (First person shooter)

  • no kidding......

  • @bmxdudleydo tempest is anything but a classical shooter

  • Wow I didnt even know Tempest 3000 existed ..although cant help but notice the inferior soundtrack in comparison to Tempest 2000.

Still its pretty nice thanks for the post.

  • T3k uses the same music as T2k xD

  • Wow, Tempest 3000 is really trippy. If I would play this, I would get sooo confused. Thanks for the record of this Gameplay (everything else were those Camera Recorder.)

Also, I like the second Song.

  • Maybe. I noticed you commented on one of the T2000 vids that the Jag was your favourite console because nothing since had the same arcade vibe. Get an xbox & have a look on xbox live arcade. You may find things aren't so bad these days.

  • Yeh I've tried but it just doesn't have the same feel. There's just something inhenrantly different about Atari that cannot be manufactured. Even by the Mighty Microsoft!

Plus, musci has taken over so much of my life recently & I have little time to play computer games. I'm currently Remastering the TK2 Soundtrack for a fan as we speak! It's taking so much work as mod files are very poor quality! Send me you E-mail address by message if you wana listen! "Television, is the retena of..."

  • the minds eye.

  • He he! Correct! Check out my Unleashed Remix if you liked the track. I've taken it one step further, & then some! And turn up the volume!!

  • @therealKINDLE Um... the song from the first few levels was directly from the Temepst 2000 soundtrack CD Atari produced. It was written by the same guys that made the original soundtrack of the game, to boot.

  • @atarian2049 Yeh Alistair Lindsey, Ian Howe, Julian Hodgson & Kevin Saville. Lindsey is now head of SONY EUROPE's Music Dept. The CD was made first, but there was No Room for the CD Quality Tracks on the Game so they had to Re-Compose them in Module Files but even then they only had room for 7 Tracks. But those Versions of the Tracks Pack much more punch due to the Lofi Compress used on the Drum Samples they used. Sorry! I know far too much about this nonsense!

  • @therealKINDLE uh I'm pretty sure the cd was made /after/ but okay, also no the modules are TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE

  • @literalgameboy Are you JOKING? Seriously! Because if you're Not, you are critisizing an entire Era & Cult of Video Game History!! Pretty Parochial of you man!

And by the way, I agree that the "Quality" of the Mod Files were pretty Bad in Places, but that's Why I went back, & RE-MASTERED the Whole Lot from the Jaguar Soundtrack. Look up "Tempest 2009" or go to it under my Videos to see how in this case, the MODULE Tracks were 'Better' than the CD Version! Honest, they were SICK Drums man!

  • @therealKINDLE hurr, the first game track and the bonus track in this video ARE the t2000 tracks, and not those shitty jaguar mods, but the awesome redbook versions

  • it looks like the itunes visualizer wow!

  • tempest is so awesome

  • this is the kind of game that would be perfect if VR headsets came out - mind blowing!!

  • VR headsets did come out - but only for PC. Look for "vrealities" on Google, they sell a lot of different kinds of stereo 3D visors.

  • "Then he began making loops and figures of eight with his body, and soft, oozy triangles that melted into squares and five-sided figures, and coiled mounds, never resting, never hurrying, and never stopping..." (R. Kipling "The Jungle Book", Kaa's Dance)

I played the original Tempest in the early 1980s, and already than it had a infamous reputation of beeing hypnotic to some people!

But this... Damn, are this bizarre graphics captivating! This must be programmed under the influence of LSD!

  • In the early 80s, this was the most addicting game at the arcade!! Thanks for this vid. Good to see it never died out completely, are there any other emulating platforms that have this game?

  • Thanks. This version only showed up on Nuon (pretty rare DVD addon chip) but you can get a basic re-release of the original on xbox360

  • Don't forget Typhoon 2001, it's an amazing remake of Tempest 2000. That, and Tsunami 2010, a Tempest 3X remake. Requires a very good 3D card, though.

  • Do you actually own a Nuon or are you using an emulator?

  • I own one

  • Wow! This Nuon version has some sick choonage to back it up, wish I got a chance to play it.

  • what platform is this on?

  • Nuon (special enhanced DVD player platform that died a death about 5 years ago)

  • Yep, I meant Space Giraffe. The game is done and is just waiting to be released, right? I wish Microsoft would hurry up and get it out.

  • This Wednesday (22nd) for 400 points. :)

  • When is this out on Xbox Live Arcade? Want it!

  • You mean Space Giraffe? Not sure yet, imminent apparently. llamasoft have a blog running on the launch on their site.
