I think the background and psychological profile of Shepard already gives Paragon and Renegade points so it makes at least a little difference.^^

The voice over for the alliance control computer reminds me of the install voice-over for Broken Sword.

Good story, setting, characters, and attention to detail... several RPGs would fit the bill and I'm wondering why you're not more familiar with the genre if these are the qualities you look for. For example, Planescape Torment. (It's neither a shooter nor modern nor mainstream so I suppose I can request an LP of it :P)

That said, thanks a lot for this new LP, you're an inspiration for me as always.

@mentalleevoid I don't think it'll be quite that much. TLJ took me 127 videos, but that was under the old 11 minute time limit. This game will be longer, but the videos are longer too (most will be between 15 and 20 minutes).

Glad to hear you like the Mass Effect series Dilandu3000! I found the military science-fiction tropes pretty grating to see in action, but it was fun and interesting so long as I ignored the way Shepard was made out to be basically the greatest thing since sliced bread, the political atmosphere and the strange emphasis of the first sequel to the darker side of the galaxy.

I usually play as a woman in RPGs, and then model her after the type of woman I'd be romantically interested in (so she tends to fit absolutely none of the stereotypes about women).

@nighthawk2k3rsx I'll be doing everything, and I'll alternate between story missions and a bunch of side quests. I'll also be doing the Bring Down the Sky DLC, but *not* Pinnacle Station as I don't like it and also suck at it.

This is quite the surprise. I would never have expected you to LP this game, but I'm glad you enjoyed it, it has also become one of my "modern" favorites. It's not perfect, but it's one of the few recent games that's managed to capture that classic sci-fi ambiance.

Problem I see with a Mass Effect LP is that, unlike in adventure games, you have many choice , either morally or otherwise, to make. So it is easy to wonder how other choices went or to root for other choices and that makes it a more distant experience (for me at least) than a LP of the Myst series or old adventure games that were telling only one story and felt more like "watching books".

@Carsath On the other hand there is an overall story-line that plays out fairly consistently if you follow the paragon option, which if you know anything about Sven's style he's most likely to do. And you can also watch other LPs or walk-throughs to see different outcomes.

@Carsath Personally I think that's an advantage: it means that every LP can have its own unique flavour to the story, and there's still room to create your own experience if you play the game yourself.

@WarthogDemon I already put a disclaimer to that effect in the video description (not that it'll help :P ). ME1 and 2 are the only cover-based or third-person shooters I've ever played. Beyond that the most modern shooter I've played is the original Doom. :)

You know what on second thought that's a bad idea. ME2's vanguard build has a VERY steep learning curve, but is SO much fun to play once you master it.

@thegameulost I'm playing as an engineer, which I'm sticking with. I've completed both MEs once before as engineer (as well as with soldier and sentinel), so I know what to expect. Plus engineers get combat drone and incinerate in ME2, and both are very useful talents. :)

I'm totally excited about this. It was Sven who got me hooked on Mass Effect, which I couldn't play as there is no Mac version. So I watched several Let's Plays of both ME1 and ME2 and as much as I enjoyed them, there were so many times I wished there was a Sven-explanation for what was going on. And...even though there were work-related reasons for Sven's extended break, you'll understand now that it wasn't Skyrim he was playing at the time!
