@woden20 A video does not constitute objective evidence, it is a person's view usually with a smattering of case studies. Your experience of one person getting better could perhaps form the rationale of a study but does not constitute real evidence of its effectiveness - ever heard of spontaneous remission? People often get better with no way of explaining it that is why we have to do large sample studies and control other factors that could affect the result before we infer causation.

Cannabis sativa does have deaths attributed to it - lung cancer and other respiratory problems from smoking it and suicide from the psychotic symptoms. However, alcohol can also induce psychosis (e.g. Korsakoffs or Wernicke's encephalopathy).

I am not a botanist nor am I a chemist so I will not be looking for plants any time soon. Cannabis may be all these great things you claim it to be (I doubt it though) but the research doesn't support it, I'm pushing no agenda (I would legalise it personally) - if I see conclusive evidence that it does then I will change my mind.

I agree that it isn't that bad for you (I would argue its actually less dangerous than alcohol) but still has some problems, especially if it is consumed heavily (again as with alcohol). This paranoia that manifests itself in your delusional rant about the "they" wanting you to be ill is a very good example of the paranoia that is often induced by excessive cannabis consumption.

I agree that pharmaceutical companies are unscrupulous in their pursuit of money but you can still offer me no peer reviewed empirical research that shows that hemp "cures" cancer, partially because there are many different types of cancer and it is not likely that there would be one cure for them all: what may cure a carcinoma may not cure an astrocytoma etc.

@woden20 I am a scientist and I do not base assertations about the efficacy of a particular drug on comments such as "I know it works" - that is a subjective (and undoubtedly biased) viewpoint. Objective testing by researchers is the only way of gaining a true outlook on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of any particular substance. THC has mild analgesic properties, you are claiming that it can cure myriad illnesses yet have no evidence apart from you "know" it works. Rubbish!

@woden20 A video does not constitute objective evidence, it is a person's view usually with a smattering of case studies. Your experience of one person getting better could perhaps form the rationale of a study but does not constitute real evidence of its effectiveness - ever heard of spontaneous remission? People often get better with no way of explaining it that is why we have to do large sample studies and control other factors that could affect the result before we infer causation.

@woden20 Im not saying it was SR, I'm saying that there are confounding variables in any case (such as SR) which is why case studies are not considered to give much evidence for the effectiveness of a drug. Cannabis sativa does have deaths attributed to it - lung cancer and other respiratory problems from smoking it and suicide from the psychotic symptoms. However, alcohol can also induce psychosis (e.g. Korsakoffs or Wernicke's encephalopathy).

@woden20 Yes, I am a scientist doing a PhD in the Neuropsychology of intelligence/ability (that is looking at areas of the brain that relate to intelligence). I am not a botanist nor am I a chemist so I will not be looking for plants any time soon. Cannabis may be all these great things you claim it to be (I doubt it though) but the research doesn't support it, I'm pushing no agenda (I would legalise it personally) - if I see conclusive evidence that it does then I will change my mind.

Cannabis is not really demonised in scientific circles, I would argue (as I did before) that it is probably less harmful than alcohol, however, I disagree totally in your claim that it is a cure-all for every cancer.

@Waniay i was born in britain and i am proud of it. but i am 3/4 irish and 1/4 ukranian going back no further then my great grandparents. oh and black and asian are not nationalities. nationalities are groups of people, some belong to a country, others not, romani are a nationality with no country, Scottish is a nationality, even Jewish is a nationality, or at least there are some who are a part of one (i am not talking about israel) they generally have their own language and beliefs and so on.
