About as alien as you get

Biologists who study these animals consider them shy, curious, and rather intelligent. They appear to have sharp vision. They have a dense network of chromataphoric cells that enable them to change skin color and texture in startling displays which some species use as communication signals. They are certainly alien in environment, anatomy, and physiology.
