  • sei unico!

  • Yes, Carousel & yes, Elvis. Makes me wonder what would have happened w/his career & unfortunate final years if Col. Tom Parker had gotten him a gig playing Billy Bigelow in that wonderful musical tragedy, perhaps Rodgers &I Hammerstein's best...I bet he'd have hit it out of the park!

  • Brilliant notes from Poland! YNWA!

  • There is video footage of Elvis singing this song in a rehearsal, and he's playing the piano. Does anyone know where I can find this?

  • It's Liverpool's song but Elvis nails it here. GBY RIP

  • @brendanECS it's not "Liverpool's song".

  • @madu86 Fair enough. It's been adopted by Liverpool. That's more like it :-)

  • @brendanECS

It is indeed from Carousel (Rodgers and Hammerstein).

  • The song as far as am aware comes from the musical Carousel, 1945, a bit before the 'worlking class' terraces adopted it in football as their own, nothing is original x

  • @frankiegirl69 and if what you describe was 'working class terraces' didn't adopt it, then all the views on the versions of song would be divided by 10, at least. It's a fantastic song and because people adopt it is why people get to know it.

  • our honour....

  • Elvis lives.God bless his soul.

  • Praise God --- This song has always touched me -- as a Pastor --- it is one of my all time favorites

  • All Liverpool can cheat and barrow others song.

As the reds go Marching on on on!

  • Of course it's gospel and of course its religous. The rendition referred to is about overcoming adversity.

  • its from the roger and hammerstein musical "Carosel" it had nothing to do with gospel or any religious themes, it was a musical. idiots

  • @midlocal Of course it did . The rendition you refer to was about strength in the face of adversity, which is gospel and which is religious whichever way one looks at it.

  • @midlocal Of course it has....I am glad you are so thick

  • @midlocal Of cours it did. That planet are you from...wake up caller

  • The Universe gave Man the knowledge of internet to be able to create Youtube as a medium for endless awesomeness

  • Elvis The Great. greatest entertainer in the History Of Man.

  • IT'S A SHAME HE NEVER SUNG THE SASH ASWELL.

  • I've been told by reliable sources that Elvis had a rare disease that was never publicly mentioned that kept him in pain and that is why he took the pain pills as he did.If this is true and we may never find out if it is,then that would explain the reason for taking so many pain pills back then. Also back in the 60s and 70s there were not as much medical treatments and advances in medicine as there are now.had there been he may still be with us today.Again I was only told this by someone else.

  • what a waste , to destroy yourself the way elvis did to himself , such talent to be thrown away , his mother would be mad if she was still around as mine would if i did that to myself after having the world at my feet.

  • @davx14 To fully understand a person, you have to walk in his shoes. I have seen lesser people do worse to themselves AND to loved ones around them. Elvis was a man. A special man albeit, but subject to the frailty and faults we all have.

  • @davx14 Umm, you know his mother was an alcoholic and died because she was one right? Sorry, I don't think she'd have any room to talk. Btw, I understand elvis has a problem, but none of us are to really judge him.

  • what a waste , to destroy yourself the way elvis did to himself , such talent to be thrown away , his mother would be mad if she was still around as mine would if i did that to myself after having the world at my feet.

  • There is a better version of this song. Her name is Charice from the Philippines. Just type Charice you'll never walk alone.

  • @anromable Charice Pengpengco is good when it comes to the yelling and screaming version of this song. Her singing is bad for the ears and gives you headache.

  • @anromable I highly doubt it's better than Elvis' version.

  • The king of all time rip elvis.!!!!

  • I fell in love with this song the first time I ever heard it from Gary & the Pacemakers...

  • @redstillidie69

"You'll Never Walk Alone" is a show tune from the 1945 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, Carousel.

Made popular by the Liverpool pop group Gary and the Pacemakers in 1963. And then adopted by Liverpool football fans.

  • @redstillidie69 Gerry

  • @redstillidie69 Gerry and the pacemakers not gary fool

  • @redstillidie69 Uhh no this song was written in the forties for a musical.

  • @redstillidie69 Gerry.

  • @abdul0500M im not even a liverpool fan but was lucky enough to get tkts there on thursday an holy shit , lost my voice cause this song is sung with so much passion, also without a shadow of a doubt the best football ground ever i mean not by size (ive been to old trafford) but by sheer atmosphere, never met such a passionate group of fans than the scousers, apart from maybe the tartan army

  • @1943AngelEyes Thanks for the appreciation. Sorry for late reply...I had lost the password for my account...lol

    YNWA

  • bin said elvis never wrote his own songs but he had a god given talent for singing other peoples compilations cant take it away from him correcctly named the KING

  • @b9449 Elvis actually had a hand in some of his songs being writen. If you listen to his version of "HOUND DOG" it doesn't sound anything like Big Mama Thorton's. He even changed the lyrics. The writers of the original version said they didn't know where he got the lyrics from his version. Elvis also wrote with Red West a song titled "YOU'LL BE GONE".

  • worlds best singer / worlds best team ...what a match.....

  • Comment removed

  • i am sad to see on other songs such negative comments re him as a performer or songwriter.....as i see it BOY was this man gifted in looks and in voice..and he did change musicand look how far we have come..cos of him.GBHS x

  • elvis supported liverpool yay!

  • 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made dalive.

Elvis will be ressurected and will never die again.. He will continue singing ...

  • Very rare???????

  • LFC forever.......

  • How ignorant and stupid some people can be !!!!!!!!

I am a fan of Panathinaikos F.C. but i know that this song is Liverpool's anthem since the 60's . It has nothing to do with Hillsborough . It just expresess the love of the fans for their team : they will follow wherever , no matter what ...

  • It was written about a ferry journey after clubbing on the ,Mersey, late 60's nothing to do with football, though if one wants to be pedantic, he was a Toffee. [Everton fan.]

  • My stepdad was a skin head, right in with the football mob etc. not at this game but He heard of his friends that the people were crushed in the stands because the Police refused to open the doors or gates for some reason. Hences the rush to get out. but my point is this song was recoerded way before that

  • this song was originally a gospel song. It is used for the liverpool anthem cos of the Hilsborough disaster (i think its called that) where many fans died after being crushed in the rush to geto ut of the stadium. Thats why its associated with liverpool. Gerry and the pacemakers were from liverpool who also recorded this song.

  • Er no, it was sang long before Hillsborough.

  • i know that. re-read what i said. Ppl associate it with liverpool cos of what happened but yes this song was around long before. Around the 40s or 50's i tihnk

  • correction: they didnt get crushed in the rush to get out, they were crushed in the stands watching the game

  • The song is incomplete, ¿where is the repeated high final?

  • This video isnt made by this person.

I made this video!! 2 years ago

    its on my channel Elvisnieuws

  • he is and always will be a tim!!!!!!!!!!

  • Il est toujours là avec sa voix fantastique !!!!

  • i agreeee!!!!!! :( :'(

  • R.I.P UP THE RED

  • elvis hes a red,elvis elvis hes a red

    fantastic

  • this song came from liver pool?? i always thought of it as a gospel song to. oh well its a beautifull song and a great singer. what else does one need?????????

  • the song didnt come from liverpool

    its from a musical

its just delusional scouser cunts who think otherwise

  • obsessed

  • Calm down lontach.....scousers know where the song comes from... you just sound desperate and angry

  • no, the song was from a musical by Rogers and Hermerstein. The musical was called Carousel. Nothing to do with football at the beginnig, it was adopted by Liverpool FC sung by Gerry and the Pacemakers.

  • @rosechris48 you're spot on mate

  • his soul lingers in my lingerie.

  • Yes, yes he was.

  • of course he wasnt lol. but this was one of his favourite songs. he probably didn't even know its football connotation, he knew it as a gospel song.

  • to my husband!

  • Never saw this video of Elvis. I've heard him sing this beautiful song before. It's very special because my Mom and I used to sing this song together, along with many others, as she played the piano!

    Thanks so much for sharing!
