Most of the toothpaste tubes that I have seen indicate if they contain sodium fluoride and the amount. However I haven't seen any list triclosan which most of them contain. In most other foods they substitute the name of the chemicals (or in this case poisons) with numbers that mean nothing to the average person. They count on the fact that people are not going to go and look up what chemical the number represents. The reason they aren't listed is because they don't want you to know.

The only way to remove it from water is reverse osmosis but it's still in food products as factories that make food might likely have fluoridated water. That is especially true in the US.

By the way for water without fluoride or chlorine you have a few options available:

Find a water source near your house, it's free and, up to 5 times more hydrating than tap water, contains beneficial trace minerals for health.

You can also clean the tainted city water with a revers osmosis filter.

You shouldn't drink distilled water as it leaches minerals from the human body.

I thought I'd point out that even taking a shower, you still absorb the fluoride and the chlorine (another poison) through the skin and inhale the mist into the lungs, which is another form of exposure. The only true way to rid yourself of it is to either drill a well and that's not always feasible, legal, or even affordable.

I understand that there is a handheld water tester for about $45 that will tell you how many ppb of impurities there are in the sample but i don't know how accurate it is. Maybe you could tell us.

Only Reverse Osmosis can rid water of the flouride thats in it. Theres straight Reverse Osmosis and there is DI Reverse Osmosis...I like straight RO better. Can you believe what "safe" levels are for the state of Michigan, USA as defined by the DEQ? 4PPM! And the TARGET for them is the high limit! I know Aqua Pure bottled water is fluoride free. They use a $2,000,000 reverse osmosis system to purify the water. At about $1 for 1.25ltrs it is a good buy. I will update my website by Thursday with an information section detailing the options available for fluoride removal.
